Stampin’ Up! Dove of Peace Graces Super Simple Single Stamp Saturday

Today’s share is quick and easy!  And uses one of my very favorite stamps from the 2016 Holiday Catalog that, sadly, is retiring in January. 🙁

The Dove of Peace stamp is an elegant, religious Christmas stamp – with the added appeal of being suitable for coloring and customizing to suit your craft!  For this card today, I’ve kept it very, very clean and simple.  It’s monochromatic in white and Cherry Cobbler.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Dove of Peace and Six Sayings for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Good Blog-Hop-Thursday-Morning to y’all!  I hope you’re ready for some beautiful projects from all the Ladies-Who-Hop.  At the end of the post are links to all the blogs – be sure to cruise thru all of them, okay?

Now – I’m going to apologize up front for the quality of my pictures.  I got back to the hotel last night, with plenty of time to finish my card, set up some sort of photo area (I did not bring one of my Ott Lites – which I may come to regret) and get my post done.  That was all true right up until the hamburger I ate at lunch (this is where I’m laying the blame), let me know in no-uncertain-terms that there’d been something awry with it.  Folks – not trying to curry sympathy here – but my night sucked!  Getting my card done became extremely low on my list right quick like.  I’m thinking it’s passed now, but…my energy level is low low low!

End of whining!

Today’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop challenge is a color challenge – we’re to use Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Old Olive.  I decided to do a Christmas themed card with the lovely (and retiring – so get it now if you love it!) Dove of Peace.  I pulled my sentiment from Six Sayings – another stamp set that’s retiring at the end of the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  This one is a Hostess Stamp, so if you want it in your stash, let’s chat about how to get it.  So, here’s what I came up with – take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Dove of Peace and Wonderland for the Happy Stampers Team Blog Hop!

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Welcome to the first of our new Happy Stampers Weekly Blog Hops!  Hope that you’ll join us each week to see what we all have to offer.  We have a lot of talented folks in our group and I know that you’re going to be inspired to get crafty with every blog hop you see! 🙂

This week’s blog uses a sketch for inspiration.  This is where we started:

Sketch 1 Blog Hop

Funny story (well, maybe funny – you be the judge.  But, pretend to laugh anyway, okay? I have very delicate feelings) – I was less than prepared for this blog hop.  I needed to provide a “Shortlink” for my fellow hoppers so they could get their blog posts all set up.  And I had to do that early this week.  Well, the way to get a shortlink is to make a blog post and save it and schedule it.  Easy enough – but the TITLE of the blog post has to stay the same once you make it or the shortlink changes and then everything is chaos.  I had to figure out what I was going to make, in order to come up with a title.  But on Monday evening I had no clue.  So, I thought about it for a while and decided I’d make something with the Dove of Peace stamp and the Wonderland stamp set.  I built my title and passed my shortlink on to the other ladies.

I tried to figure out what I was going to do with those two sets and the inspiration sketch.  On top of that, I wanted to incorporate pink into the card, to mark Breast Cancer Awareness and in response to our Happy Stampers challenge for October.  Hmmm….

And then, I remembered Christmas growing up.  My grandparents always had a silvery-flecked, sparkly white-flocked Christmas tree.  And it had pink and silver ornaments and lots and lots of that deadly silver “rain” (my favorite part of the tree!!).  I always loved those Christmas trees – and going with my grandfather to get that tree every year….well, that’s a pretty special memory for me.

And there it was.  White.  Pink.  Christmas Tree.  Take a look-see at how I made Wonderland and Dove of Peace and Pink work for my card!

Stampin’ Up! Autumn Dove of Peace on a Day of Remembrance

For today’s share, I took an unexpected stamp – Dove of Peace – and used it to make an Autumn-themed card.  Not a Christmas card at all.  More of a Thanksgiving card.  And who better to be thankful to – for ALL things – than to the Dove of Peace?  And what better day to be Thankful than on this Day of Remembrance of the events and losses of 9/11 so many years ago.

Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board for Custom Envelopes and Liners

I gave you guys a link to Mary Fish’s website the other day, so you could see how she makes envelopes and liners with the Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board.  For today – I decided I’d show you a tutorial – that’s over on my Tutorial Page – so that you can see it right here.  Especially in light of the fact that the Envelope Punch Board is in the Weekly Deal line-up this week!

The coolest thing about being able to make a custom envelope liner with the Punch Board – is that you can bling-ify your custom-paper envelopes to match or complement your card-making masterpieces.

Add in the cool Envelope Paper – and there’s currently TWO kinds – the 2015-2017 In Color and the Neutrals.  And, starting on 1 Sept, SU! will be bringing Real Red Envelope Paper and Red Foil Sheets – two PERFECT choices for all your holiday card making!

So – head over to the Tutorials page to see how to make this envelope….

Stampin’ Up! Dove of Peace

Okay – here’s the Dove I benched yesterday in favor of my Fall salute.  This card was inspired by one I saw in the new Holiday Catalog.  I thought it was gorgeous, so I did my own riff on it.
