Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! This is another installment of the Joint Blog Hop between the Happy Inkin’ Thursday and Happy Stampers Blog Hop ladies! I hope you really enjoy all the inspiration you can get from our talented folks!
I decided to try out some more of the goodies from the Classic Garage suite – the Geared Up Garage stamp set with the bundled Garage Gears Thinlits and the Classic Garage DSP. Did you know that the dies in the Thinlits will cut out the images on the DSP? Well – take a look-see!

No cutting was fussy anywhere on this card!! 🙂
As usual, we had a sketch and a color challenge – and could use either or both. I definitely used the sketch – and…sorta skirted the edges of the color palette!

I also think this dovetails perfectly with this week’s Watercoolor Wednesday Challenge!

I started with a piece of the Classic Garage DSP and embossed it using the large gear die in the Garage Gears Thinlits – using the Impressions Pad and thin silicone mat (the blue one) in the Big Shot Embossing Mats set. Then I matted it on Pumpkin Pie with Liquid Glue for the card front.

The middle layer is another piece of the Classic Garage DSP, matted on Pumpkin Pie and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.
For the banner, I used a third design from the DSP pack, cut it into a banner with my Paper Snips, and then added some faux stitches with my Journaling Pen. It, too, is adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut the fun large image from the DSP using the large die from Garage Gears and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
The sentiment, from Geared Up Garage, is stamped in Crushed Curry on Very Vanilla and cut out with the Tailored Tag Punch, I added the faux stitches with the Journaling Pen and popped it onto the card front wit Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the embellishments – I cut another single gear from the DSP with a handy die. Then I added two Classic Garage Metal Elements with Glue Dots, stuck the gear on with a little Liquid Glue, and adhered that bow tied with Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon. Yes, I DO think men CAN handle a bow now and then, especially when it’s all manly black and silver! And that was it for the card front!
On the inside, I added a sentiment from the new Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set in Crushed Curry to a Very Vanilla panel. Then I cut and adhered a couple more gear groups!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Real Red card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added a “cloud” from Geared Up Garage in Crushed Curry. Over that, I adhered a couple more gears with Liquid Glue…

…and then I added another piece of the Classic Garage DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila! This was already a fun suite of goodies – but…that the dies in the Garage Gears Thinlits MATCH the images on the Classic Garage DSP – well…THAT’S amazeballs! It really notches up the awesomeness of the Geared Up Garage and all its friends in the suite! And – I know you’re going to love all the birthday sentiment options from Itty Bitty Birthdays! Hope you like!
