Good morning, folks. I’m sorry to say that I don’t have a card to share with you today. I spent all day in bed yesterday – and have yet to master the concept of card making in a hotel room bed! My little bout with food poisoning wasn’t all that little – really knocked me flat. But, feeling way more better this morning. Heck, I’ll probably even go into work! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! One Big Meaning Goes Wild About Flowers!
**Late breaking (or early, depending on your perspective!) news….I found out this morning that my card from the other day…
…was selected as a Pals Paper Arts Artist Pick! What a great thing to wake up to….Check it out here if you want to see the post and how it was made. Thanks to all the Artists over at Pals Paper Arts for picking my card! And – y’all go over and check them and the other winners out, okay?
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Well, folks – here it is, Hawmp-Day! Again! Today, after I got “home” from work, I persuaded the hotel folks to give me a table – a little bigger than I need, and it’s a little in the way of housekeeping, but….it works! Tomorrow I’ll set out all my stuff and I’ll be in business again. And – if I can just adjust to the time change, I’ll be ready to roll!
For today, I’m sharing a card that I made last week in anticipation of this lag in my ability to make cards here. I saw a card on Mary Fish’s blog that featured a flower “arrangement” in a vase. And the idea was so ridiculously easy and clever that I had to do my own take on it! The end result is a combination of One Big Meaning, Wild About Flowers (a new addition that I’d not really used yet) and some lovely Into the Woods DSP. And – there’s one other ingredient that is the source of the “secret”! Take a look-see:
Stampin’ Up! What’s Up at Stampin’ Up! and a 2016 Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek….
So – today’s the day we can give you a teensy taste of what’s coming in the 2016 Occasions Catalog! We got to do 3 make and take projects at the On Stage Live event last Saturday. Now, I haven’t had a chance to incorporate them into any projects yet – been a little busy packing and traveling! What we brought home are elements for a card – a couple of card fronts and an embellishment. I’ll be using them soon. But for now….since I know you’re dying for a peek, here you go!
One thing pretty cool about this catalog is that it contains lots of bundles – including some that are even bundled with PAPER!! And it has “suites” – a whole collection of thematically and color coordinated items – papers, embellishments, stamps, dies…. There are 6 Suites in the catalog. That’s in addition to a whole plethora of stand-alone products. It’s a pretty awesome catalog, folks! 🙂
The first item I’m going to share is from the new suite called Botanical Gardens (this one bundles with the stamp set, the matching Framelits and the gorgeous DSP!). If this isn’t my favorite, it’s surely tied for favorite! I just love everything about the suite – paper, stamps, framelits, embellishments and even some Washi Tape! Here’s the card front we made. The flowers are made with a die that cuts the flower and the inner petal all at once! You can see the pretty DSP – and we used the stamp set to add veins and flower centers onto the DSP. Added a lot of dimension and life to the paper, don’t you think?
Stampin’ Up! Home for a Cozy Christmas
Well, back to work! Was such a fun weekend – it’s hard to get back to reality! And by reality I mean….trying to whittle down my stampin’ stash to take with me to Yuma and getting all of it and my clothes (I really must take clothes…) into two suitcases that don’t weigh more than 50lbs! This is no easy endeavor – let me tell you! Just in case you don’t realize it – this stuff is heavy! I kept adding “must-have” punches to the pile…..
So, please – if my shares over the next few weeks are not as….varied…as I might normally do, please forgive me! 🙂
Today’s share, as I wing my way West, is pretty quick and simple. It uses a little Home for Christmas DSP, some Holidays Fancy Vellum and most of the Cozy Christmas stamp set images! Take a look-see:
Stampin’ Up! Give Thanks For All Things with Vintage Leaves and a Wonderland!
Happy Sunday! The On-Stage Live event was a great day – we saw a lot of cool new products that I can’t wait to share with you!
Of course, I have to wait – I can’t share these things with you until tomorrow night – so….really Tuesday! So be sure to check back during the week, when I’ll be showing you some of what we saw yesterday!
We did have fun. Everyone got two or three free stamp sets from the new 2016 Spring Occasions catalog, which is quite awesome! And Amy and Jari and I took a little time to pose for the camera.
Serious….
Goofy…..
So – the first ever On-Stage Live Event is in the history books and a good time was had by all. And I just can’t wait to get my pre-order in and get them so I can start sharing the new goodies with you! 🙂
On to the business at hand.
Today’s card looks more complicated than it really is – especially after I tell you exactly how to do it! – so don’t be intimidated. It uses the For All Things stamp set, the Woodland TIEF and the super Festive Flower Punch (which is still in the Weekly Deals!). Take a look-see:
Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves and One Big Meaning for Super Simple Saturday!
Hello from Tampa! An uneventful drive down – I love my van! – was followed by a tiny fox-pass (that’s southern for faux pas) in the room assignment (room wasn’t ready but they gave me a key anyway!), I’m settled in my room, waiting for Amy Koenders to arrive. We went out to meet Jari Francis to check out a Taco spot that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I try to check those spots out when I’m in a town – I figure if Guy Fieri ate there and liked it enough to put on the show – then it’s for sure good enough for me. I’ve had a bunch of truly outstanding meals following his “guidance”! And – as advertised….really good Fried Grouper Taco!! yummmmm
I’m fixin’ to head out the door, wearing my new Brighton badge lanyard (from my oh-so-wonderful friend and upline Amy Koenders!) and wanted to share quick pic…. this is my view out my window!
There’s the convention center on the near-right where the festivities are about to begin. There’s even a walk-way from the hotel to the center. No street crossings! 🙂 Stay tuned for an update – maybe this evening – on what went on today!
Today’s share is super simple – even if it does take more than one stamp set. It uses the Vintage Leaves and the One Big Meaning stamp sets, with a little Gorgeous Grunge as a supporting character – and Into the Woods DSP. I did mine in Tangelo Twist – but you could also do this in any color that coordinates with Into the Woods (like….Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry….all would be great color choices for this design). See what I mean – take a look-see:
Stampin’ Up! Gift Card Holder from a Sketched Dots Gift Bag!
Good Friday morning! By the time this publishes I should be a few hours down the road on my way to Tampa for the first On-Stage Live event! I’m excited – this will be my first official Stampin’ Up! event (I hemmed/hawed/deliberated/debated too long this past summer and missed out on the last ever SU! Convention. 🙁 ) So, this should be fun. We’re going to do make-and-takes (I assume, since they told us to bring acrylic handles and solicited volunteers to bring their Big Shots!) and get a sneak peek of the upcoming 2016 Occasions Catalog!
For today, since I’m drafting this on Thursday evening, and my clothes are in the dryer (and not in my suitcase!), I’ve picked a little project that will be quick to share. It’s a Gift Card holder – everyone gives gift cards and we’re heading into the Gift-Card-Giving-Season! – easily made using a SU! Sketched Dots Tag A Bag Gift Bag, the Happy Notes and A Little Something stamp sets, and some easy embellishments. Take a look-see:
Stampin’ Up! Wondrous Wonderland for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop!
Good Blog-Hop-Thursday-Morning to y’all! I hope you’re ready for some beautiful projects from all the Ladies-Who-Hop. At the end of the post are links to all the blogs – be sure to cruise thru all of them, okay?
I did want to share a quick thing that happened today. By “today” I mean Wednesday, when I’m writing this post. Which I’m writing for tomorrow. Which is technically today. See the difference? Hint – one has quotes….. 🙂
Anyway – there were multiple sightings of an unidentified object in the skies over Atlanta. The news mentioned it a few times – at least the local news did. Not sure about National. Many people saw it. Actually, my horses saw it, too. And they were scared. Scared enough to break a sweat! That’s bad.
This was a glowing ball – and it moved quite slowly. It had a trajectory that was obviously controlled – not at all random. If you stared at it – it’s image remained in your eyeballs for a while after you looked away. And it was….warm-ish. I mean, you could sort of feel heat radiating from it!
Really quite odd.
We may never know what it was. But, it was weirdly comforting – no threat at all. I hope it will be back tomorrow. 🙂
So – today’s Blog Hop is a sketch challenge. Here’s what we were working to:
When I first started thinking about what to do for this sketch, I had something completely different in my head. There was a lot of sponging involved. I didn’t do that – not even close. I used some Wonderland images and some of my favorite Home for Christmas DSP designs, and the Sleigh Ride Thinlits. Take a look-see:
Stampin’ Up! One Big Meaning Thanks Veteran’s Today!
Happy Veteran’s Day – to those who are currently serving – I thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Your selfless dedication and willingness to pay the ultimate price so that we may live in peace in our beautiful land is a blessing to us all. I pray for your safety and your swift return home! To the men and women who served and are now pursuing lives in the private world – I salute you! And Thank You. You gave up years of your lives with your families and friends, to protect us. We owe you everything!
To that end, today’s share is a blatantly patriotic, red white and blue thank you card. Since it features a Festive Flower, I suspect it would be more suitable to Soldiers/Airmen/Sailors/Marines of the female variety, but – there’s a lot of those folks these days. 🙂 I used the festive Flower Punch and the One Big Meaning stamp set – filled with all sorts of great Thank You sentiments. And some glitter. Okay – maybe kind of a lot!
