Hey, y’all! Welcome to Tuesday and the first Stamp Ink Paper challenge of 2018! I hope you’ll come and play along with us!
Our Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #131 this week involves a technique! We’re Embossing!.
I ended up doing a couple of embossing techniques – Heat embossing and dry embossing with a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. And I used the fun new Petal Passion suite of products – including the Petal Passion Memories and More Card Pack – and the Celebrate You Thinlits from the Sale-A-Bration flyer. Take a look-see:

Just sayin’….
So – I started with one of the larger cards in the Petal Passions Memories and More Card Pack and Fast Fuse’d it to a Basic Black mat for the card front. The two middle panels are also from the Memories and More Card Pack – the bottom black one, I embossed in one of the Petal Pair TIEFs (you get two in the set) and then I adhered it on an angle to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the Sale-A-Bration Celebrate You Thinlits (available with a $100 purchase starting 3 Jan – that’s tomorrow!), I cut one sentiment from Silver Foil and the second from one of the chalkboard-y papers in the Memories and More Card Pack. Then I adhered them to the Powder Pink card panel and popped that over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On yet another Powder Pink card in the Card Pack, I heat embossed the beautiful flower image from the Petal Palette stamp set in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I fussy cut it.
Don’t be scared.
Juuuuuuussssttttt breeeeaaaatttthhhhe….you’ll be done in no time!
I used some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to adhere my fussy cut flowers to the card front.
For the embellishment, I made a Billie Moan bow with the new Silver Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot. Then I added two little branch embellishments from the Petal Passion Embellishments – sticking them into the Glue Dot. Finally, over that, I stuck a little bow from the Whisper White 1/4″ Organza Ribbon with another Glue Dot. And that was it for the card front!
On the inside, I stamped the dots image from Petal Palette in Powder Pink ink across the bottom of a Whisper White panel. In the corner, I heat embossed three small flower images in Silver. I colored a few Pearl Basic Jewels with my Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blend and added one to the center of each flower. Then I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second Petal Palette sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Powder Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Petal Palette dots in Powder Pink across the front…
…and on the envelope flap, I added some paper from the Petal Passion DSP and colored the flowers with my Light and Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends.
Et Voila! In the past, I’d always sort of relegated the Memories and More Card Packs to “scrapbooking” – but no more! They’re filled with die cuts and printed acetates and gorgeous patterned cards that can really add a lot to all your card making. Which is why I added it to my Petal Passion Special Bundle! There’s method to my madness, y’all!! This is such a beautiful suite of products – and the possibilities are….huge! Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
Monday – the very first day of 2018 – was well-digger-lunch-bucket cold here in GA.
Not as cold as it is in Iowa. Or…Michigan. Or…New York. But – check my Zip Code – I don’t live there! 😉
The result of it being well-digger-lunch-bucket cold is that I tend to spend the day inside. I “suit up” – hoody/covers/insulated hoody/ear warmer/watch cap/ear-warmer-as-balaclava/gloves/mittens-over-gloves – to go out and feed. That happens twice per feeding, so four times a day.
The rest of the day – I pretty much want to be in the house.
Not so the Man.
HE apparently likes 20. Degrees!
Also – he wants ME to come out into the deep-freeze and play.
I don’t. So…he’s bored bored bored.
Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Hug, Mom. I need to tell you something, Mom!!! MOM!!
Let’s do do do do DO something, Mom!!
Maybe we could go…outside?? It’s that way!
Let’s stop making cards and…go…out…side!!

Mornin’, y’all – it’s Friday!! And no snow in sight for us. Whoo-Hoo!!
I decided I was going to give Christmas cards a rest – at least for a minute! – so I made a birthday card. And it’s not even a Christmas-y birthday card! Instead – it’s a straight up sneak peek from the 2018 Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration flyer! These goodies will be available on 3 Jan! 🙂
I used the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack – which is a FREE item (with a $50 purchase) in the SAB flyer and the Celebrate You Thinlits (also free in SAB – but at the $100 level). On the inside, you’ll see a sentiment from the Sweet Soiree stamp set from the Occasions catalog. Take a look-see:
My color scheme is from this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge.
I started by matting a piece of Whisper White card stock on a Basic Black panel for the card front. I wrapped a length of Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.
Then I took two likely cards – these are the smaller cards (3″ x 4″) – from the Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack (avail 3 Jan). The top panel I colored with my Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker, and my Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends!
I matted both cards on Basic Black and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.
For the sentiment, I cut both words in Basic Black from the Celebrate You Thinlits. Y’all – the three dies in this set are so cool!! You’re going to love them!
I adhered the words with Liquid Glue.
I used Glue Dots to adhere a few Petal Passion Embellishments (avail 3 Jan) to the card front, as well as a little Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon bow. A few Black Rhinestone Jewels (from the Holiday Catalog) finished it off!
On the inside, I used a sentiment from the Sweet Soiree stamp set (available 3 Jan) – coloring it with my Basis Black and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Markers and aligning it with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. I added a couple of branches (from Sweet Soiree) in Daffodil Delight and a single Black Rhinestone.
I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Lemon Lime Twist card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Sweet Soiree branches in Daffodil Delight – and I filled in the little berries with the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends (don’t forget the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig plastic sheet to protect your envelope!)…
…and it got more of the same on the envelope flap.
But – I didn’t take that picture. Huh?!? Well – they look exactly the same as the ones on the front! Sorry! 😉

So – the other day, it was chilly here in Hot-lanta.
Like…I had on a t-shirt, a long-sleeve shirt, a hoody, my Carhart bibs and an insulated hoody over all that.
Me. The one that’s always too hot.
Which should confirm for you that it was cold.
I needed to clean the girls’ water trough – so, I dumped and rinsed it with the hose.
The Man, who is (apparently!!) completely impervious to cold, took the opportunity to have a little play…
For a while…
…getting his face totally soaked in the process…
He truly only quit because I finally had to just turn off the hose!
I was laughing so hard I almost…well. I’d had a bottle of Diet Mt. Dew….
‘Nuff said.

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month is Celebrate! We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
I decided to Celebrate the reason for the season! I did that with the Night in Bethlehem stamp set and I used the new Celebrate You Thinlits (which will be available on 3 Jan as a free gift with a $100 purchase in the Sale-A-Bration flyer!) to create my eclipse card. Take a look-see:
I borrowed a layout idea from the Fusion Challenge this week.
One of the talented ladies in their design team, Carol Mayne, had done an eclipse card with a similar looking stamp set – it was such a beautiful idea that I borrowed some elements from her! You can check out her card up on the Fusion Challenge page!
So – I started with a piece of Thick Whisper White card stock for the card front and stamped several of the images from the Night of Bethlehem stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink and one shepherd in Basic Gray Archival Ink on the front.
Above the scene, I stamped the stars image from Night of Bethlehem a few times in Versamark ink and heat embossed them with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
I cut the word sentiment from the Celebrate You Thinlits (3 Jan 18) – being sure to save the little cut out pieces. Then I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Berry Burst mat. I laid the sentiment back in the negative space and used it as a guide to adhere all the little cut outs with Liquid Glue.
I cut three more Celebrate die cuts in Berry Burst card stock and used Liquid Glue to stack them all up – ending with the white stamped version on the top. Then I used a little more Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment back in place.
I “wrapped” two lengths of new Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic Edged Ribbon (Occasions catalog – 3 Jan) around the panel, securing them in the back with scotch tape. Then I adhered a looped short length with a Glue Dot.
I made a Billie Moan bow with Silver Metallic Thread (folks – this ain’t for the faint of heart! Don’t use Metallic Thread for your first bow of this kind! Start with Linen Thread and work up to this Metallic Thread! Trust. Me.) I adhered it with a Glue Dot and then stuck on a little white bow from the Season of Glitz Mini Gift Bows. I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a sentiment from Night in Bethlehem in Basic Black Archival Ink on a Whisper White panel.
I matted the panel on Berry Burst and wrapped a length of the Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic-Edged Ribbon around it, securing it in the back with scotch tape. Then I Fast Fuse’d it into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few more Night in Bethlehem images in Basic Black and Basic Gray Archival Ink on the front…
…and on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love the Berry Burst for this card, don’t you? And – how cool is that sentiment die! I’m loving that Celebrate You Thinlits set so much – and the fact that it’ll be free is just the icing on the cake! Night of Bethlehem is sticking around for a little bit, y’all – but…don’t risk not getting it if you want it, okay? Hope you like!
