Stampin’ Up! Come to Gathered Leaves and Daisies

Hey y’all!  Hope the week is going well!

A little housekeeping….Online Extravaganza starts TO-morrow!  And only lasts for three days – so get ready to save!  And – I’ve got a Double Peppermint Rewards Ordering Special going on right now thru the 25th!  Whoo-hoo!

So – do y’all realize that Thanksgiving is just a smidge over a week away? Which means time to get busy with last minute Thanksgiving cards!  So…I did!

Last Friday, at Brian King’s Fall Stamp Along, I did a presentation on building collage cards.  For the card I demo’d but didn’t finish during the presentation, I used the Gather Together stamp set and bundled Gathered Leaves dies.  Plus (you KNEW there was a “plus”, right?!?) – some Beautiful Boughs, Frosted Bouquet and…Daisy Lane!  I finished it up and… take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Versailles Gathered Leaves and Boughs

Good morning!  By the time you read this – Finn, Wayne and I’ll be headed to NC to winterize our RV trailer – it’s Wayne’s “home away from home” when he goes to work on the rental house.  Since Father Winter is looming down and the freeze warnings are flying around – seemed like a good time to be sure it was ready to get thru winter without frozen….anything! 🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see some of the techniques we played with – and the card we put together….here’s the replay!

I used die cuts from the Gathered Leaves AND Beautiful Boughs sets and a fun “napkin” coloring technique.  The “watercolored” die cuts were paired up with the Very Versailles stamp set (from the Annual Catalog) and a little Come to Gather DSP.  Take a look-see:

I know that yesterday’s card used the Come to Gather DSP – but…so does today’s!  Sorry!  I paired it today with the Gather Together Bundle and the Woodland Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Come and Gather for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

When I saw the color combo for the challenge – I immediately thought – Come to Gather DSP.  Then I spent a little time hemming and hawing and decisioning.  Like…for about 5 seconds.  WAS this the right choice??  Should I go with the unexpected??  And then I remembered back to my college days – the first answer you believe to be true…usually is.  So…I stuck with my original choice and added some beautiful leaves and sentiments from the Gather Together Bundle.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Gather Together Harvest Hellos Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

I figured to give you another 2019 Holiday Catalog sneak peek – using the wonderful Gather Together and Harvest Hellos bundles – plus some Come to Gather DSP – and make a collage card for Fall!  Take a look-see:

And…here’s our sketch for the challenge!

I started with a piece of Early Espresso card stock, folded to make a landscape card front – and, using the large leaf image from the Gather Together stamp set, I stamped the leaves across the front of the card base in Early Espresso ink.

Next up is a strip of Come to Gather DSP, matted on Mint Macaron, and adhered right to the card front with Liquid Glue.  A second design, also matted on Mint Macaron, was next.

I used the same DSP design that I made my strip from and cut a Stitched Shapes circle.

The leaves – all cut with the wonderful dies in the Gathered Leaves Die set – are cut (and embossed at the same time!) from Mint Macaron and Pretty Peacock card stocks.  I used my Stampin’ Spritzer to lightly mist the card stock before running it thru the die cutting machine.  Yes – I did one set without misting….liked it better with the water.  So… 😉  I lightly curled the leaves just using my fingers to roll them.

I pulled out the Harvest Hellos stamp set and stamped the large pumpkin in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla.  I colored it with my Dark So Saffron and Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends – then I punched it out with the bundled Apple Builder Punch.  I also punched a little stem from Early Espresso.

I used the sentiment from Harvest Hellos and stamped it on Very Vanilla in Pretty Peacock.  Over top is a small pumpkin from Gather Together, stamped in stamped-off-once Mint Macaron – then cut with the matching die from Gathered Leaves.

I built up the collage with Liquid Glue for the leaves and Stitched Shapes Circle – and Dimensionals for the pumpkins.  Before adhering the colored pumpkin, I added a few loops of Cajun Craze Linen Thread from the new Gather Together Ribbon Combo.

I added some Pumpkin Pie jewels from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Harvest Hellos in Pretty Peacock on a Very Vanilla panel.  Over top is a stamped-off-once Mint Macaron pumpkin from Gather Together.  I added a few more of those pumpkins – full strength! – across the bottom.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mint Macaron mat and into my Early Espresso card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Gather Together pumpkins on the front…

…and more of the Come To Gather DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  These two bundles – Harvest Hellos and Gather Together – just go together like peanut butter and jelly!  Having them both – plus the Come To Gather DSP – will give you a huge head start for all your Fall and Thanksgiving projects!  You’ll be able to get your hands on all of it come 4 September!  I hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, take a minute to hop thru all our projects today  If you click on the Next Blog button, you’ll go right to Kristi’s page. And you can just click on the names below to go direct to all the blogs!

Stampin’ Up! Birds of a Feather Sneak Peek for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Fall Frenzy!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

First off – it’s hard to think about Fall when it’s 100 outside.  Just sayin’… 😉

I decided another sneak peek from the 2019 Holiday Catalog was the way to go here – and I figured….why not go with Thanksgiving?  So…I pulled out the new Birds of a Feather stamp set (which covers Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day!) and paired the little turkey with some Come To Gather DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s TGIF Sketch Challenge.

And the colors are from… Sunday Stamps! 🙂

I started with some feather-y Pretty Peacock paper from the Come To Gather DSP (coming in the new 2019 Holiday Catalog on 4 Sept) and matted it on Crushed Curry for the card front.

On a smaller rectangle of Very Vanilla, I stamped the little turkey from Birds of a Feather (avail 4 Sept) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored – her (she’s my turkey and she can be a she if I want to her to be, so… 😉 ) – with my Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Pretty Peacock and Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends.  Plus my Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Pretty Posy Stampin’ Write Markers.

I stamped the gobbler again on a second Pretty Peacock design from the Come To Gather DSP and fussy cut just the apron.  Did the same on a Pretty Posy checkered piece of 2019-2021 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP and cut out the apron pocket.  I adhered both with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Birds of a Feather sentiment in Pretty Peacock in the bottom corner.  Then I matted it on Crushed Curry and adhered it to the card front.

I pulled out a Tags & Feathers Elements and colored the middle stripe of one with my Pretty Peacock Blend.  Then I adhered it to the panel with Liquid Glue.

A tiny Linen Thread bow and some Pretty Posy 2019-2021 Faceted Dots finished off the card front!

On the inside, I added the Birds of a Feather gobbler in the bottom corner of a Very Vanilla panel and colored her as I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Cajun Craze card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another gobbler on the front…

…and some more feathery Come To Gather DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this little image from Birds of a Feather – and it’s so cool that the single set covers so many occasions, don’t you think?  And the Come To Gather DSP is going to be a mainstay for all your Fall projects!  I hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share. Click any name below, or you can use the Previous Blog button to jump to Terry Lynns’s page or the Next Blog button to see what Akiko’s been up to!

Stampin’ Up! Here’s a Card With Apples (a sneak peek!)

Good Monday, y’all!  Hope you had a most wonderful weekend and are ready to Soldier thru the work-week! 🙂  Did you do anything fun to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Moon-landing?  Like….write something while hanging upside down?  Have a big ole glass of Tang?  Eat some freeze-dried ice cream? 🙂

Yeah – I didn’t do any of those things either.  I just thought back to where I was 50 years ago – and thought “Man.  That was COOL!”  Cuz…it totally was!

And – brave beyond measure.  Even though it is NOT – it SEEMS commonplace to us now, but…can you even imagine?  We had no CLUE what they’d find up there.  Or whether they’d come home (like…. to the point that a speech was waiting for the President just in case they didn’t).  But…they walked out there, strapped on a Saturn V and said….GO!

Wow.  Just….wow.  Body parts made of titanium wrapped in diamond!

On a much MUCH more mundane level, let’s look at a card, shall we?  This one uses a fun sentiment set from the Annual catalog called Here’s A Card.  And – I used the new Apple Punch and Come To Gather DSP (from the 2019 Holiday Catalog), too.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White and embossed it in the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, then matted it on Pear Pizzazz for the card front.

Next up, I cut two Rectangle Stitched Dies from the wood-design of the new Come To Gather DSP (coming on 4 Sept!) and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the new Apple Punch, I cut three apples from checked paper in the Come To Gather DSP.  I also used the punch to make three Early Espresso stems and three Pear Pizzazz leaves.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the stems and leaves to each apple.

I pulled out the Support Ribbon dies and cut a few little hearts from Cajun Craze.  I adhered them to the two apples with Liquid Glue.  Then I stuck all the apples onto the card front with more Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment from Here’s A Card in Cajun Craze on a piece of Whisper White and cut it with the small Rectangle Stitched Die.  Then I popped it onto the middle apple with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish is off, I tied three small bows from Cajun Craze Linen Thread (yup – you read that right!) from the Come To Gather Ribbon Combo Pack (coming 4 Sept) and adhered them with little dabs of Liquid Glue.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Here’s A Card in Cajun Craze to a Whisper White panel.  In the corner I added another apple – letting the edges hang over and then trimming the excess with my Paper Snips.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and into my Cajun Craze card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another apple on the front…

…and more of the checkered Come To Gather DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness – I love the new Apple Punch (it ALSO makes pumpkins!!) – and the Come To Gather DSP.  You’ll be able to grab both of those – plus the Come To Gather Ribbon Combo – on 4 Sept.  Unless…you join us now or on 1 Aug.  THEN you could get them even faster!  I hope you like!

Check out the Extra Extra Joining Special and…let’s chat! 🙂
