Stampin’ Up! Come To Gather a Harvest Hello Gift Bags

Good morning!  I hope you’re all having a wonderful day!

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook live video – I appreciate you spending part of your wekeend with me!  If not – but you’d like to watch the re-run, here ’tis!!

I needed some gift bags for an upcoming event and saw my friend Linda Richenberg make these on her YouTube video.  Also – she gave me one a couple of weeks back, so…yeah!! 😉

I wanted to go with a Fall-but-not-Halloween vibe, so I pulled out the Harvest Hello’s stamp set with its bundled Apple Builder Punch and the gorgeous Come to Gather DSP to make some of these bags!  Take a look-see:

These are so fun and easy that I’ve already got a bunch of them ready to fill and tie up!  I’ve done several color combinations, using the different designs in the Come To Gather DSP.

The bag starts with a 7 1/2″ x 7 3/4″ piece of card stock and uses the Simply Scored board to score a few lines, Paper Snips to snip a few snips and some Tear and Tape adhesive.

Here’s a handy template for you!

One of the bags I made started with a Mint Macaron bag.  Once I made all my score lines – I added the DSP with Liquid Glue.  As you can see, I matted the front and back panels on Pretty Peacock card stock.

The picture above shows where I put my Tear and Tape Adhesive – on the 1/2″ flap and on the flap under the BACK panel.

Once I got the bag put together, I added a bag closure at the top – using the same color of card stock as the mats.  I punched one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and adhered the back with Liquid Glue.

Next up is the tag.  The base is the wood-grain paper from Come To Gather – punched at the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  I added some faux stitches with a Stampin’ Write Marker – the color depends on the color scheme of the bag!

I ran the ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack thru the tag  and then adhered it to the front of the bag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The Dimensionals are only on the sides of the tag – allowing the ribbon to run freely!

My pumpkin, from the Harvest Hellos set, is stamped in a coordinating darker color on Whisper White.  I colored the pumpkin using Stampin’ Blends.  Then I added a “tendril” and sentiment.  Once I punched it with the Apple Builder Punch, I added a coordinating stem (also made with the Apple Builder Punch).

I popped the pumpkin onto the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a Rhinestone (from the Holiday Basic Rhinestones or the Nobler Peacock Rhinestones) and a tiny Linen Thread bow!

Et Voila – once I get them all filled up – chocolate!! – I’ll tie a bow at the top and they’ll be ready to go!

This is SO easy to do – and would work for any occasion and with any DSP and card stock you’d like to use!  The Harvest Hellos bundle and Come To Gather DSP would be perfect choices for any Fall gifting need!  I hope you like!

This was kind of a down-and-dirty blog description – so…take a look at the video and see for yourself, okay? 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Well – Dr. Wayne has been at it again!

No – not Mr. Reindeer (although he’s on the list….) – this time for something near and dear to MY heart!

My Breville Smart Air Pro oven!  Had a door problem so….

Screwdriver….Yes, Doctor (slap)!

Finn wasn’t QUITE as concerned over the outcome of this surgery but…he still kept an eye on the proceedings.

I mean – surgery is surgery.  And if he’s going to let Dr. Wayne continue to be the surgeon-of-record for Mr. Reindeer, it’s important to keep track of the goings on and doings of the surgeon.  Like…tracking professional education and stuff! 😉

So far so good.  Dr. Wayne may keep his privileges…

  1. Very cute gift bags! Love the fall colors and pumpkins! Fun video too. 🙂 I’m glad that Finn was able to supervise the goings-on and make sure that Dr Wayne was keeping his skill level up. Mr Reindeer is vitally important and you can’t let any old doctor work on him. 😉

That’s right. Who KNOWS what quacks might be trying to pass themselves off as reindeer surgeons?!? 🙂 Thanks!

  2. My fave is the one you made last night. Thanks much for the template…that is a BIG help to me. I need to get busy making them. Finn is so attentive and Dr. Wayne is quite the fixer upper. I love your kitchen!

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you! Glad that you liked it! And yes, Wayne is handy! 🙂

  3. Great gift bags and another great tutorial. Sorry I missed the live version. I, too, love your kitchen! Good thing you have a general surgeon around. Dr. Waynes are in short supply around here! ‘course, I don’t have any reindeer that might need surgery.

    • stampsnlingers

Well – yes. I am actually kind of GLAD that you don’t have any reindeer around!! LOL!! Thanks, Julie! 🙂
