Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Count My Blessings

Mornin’, y’all!  Hope you enjoyed the long weekend!  We had a great day – smoked some ribs that turned out so good they should be illegal!  Spent the afternoon with Scout and her family and a few additional folks.  I sort of blew the diet – but…man, oh man, it was worth it!

I have a pretty, clean and simple card to share with you today, made with the Painted Harvest stamp set and the (also new) Count My Blessings stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Painted Harvets Count My Blessings - Stamps-N-Lingers 4

I let two challenges give me inspiration for this one.  The first, CAS(E) This Sketch, helped with the layout.
Screen Shot 2017-09-04 at 19.40.01

And then the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge helped with several elements…I went across the diagonal from top left to bottom right!

Screen Shot 2017-09-04 at 19.40.16

I started with a plain piece of Whisper White card stock and, using the pretty flower image in the Count My Blessings stamp set, inked it in Versamark and stamped it four times.  I made the sprays come from a central spot and made them so they’d extend beyond the Painted Harvest flower I was planning for the middle of the card.

Painted Harvets Count My Blessings - Stamps-N-Lingers 1

I sprinkled the four flower-sprays with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated them up.  When it was cool, I used my Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker to lightly color each of the flowers.

For the flower, I stamped the larger image in Painted Harvest several times in Powder Pink on Whisper White.  With each stamp, I rotated the image slightly.  Then I stamped the second, smaller, image in Sweet Sugarplum – twice – rotating the stamp.

Painted Harvets Count My Blessings - Stamps-N-Lingers 2

I stamped the middle of the flower twice in Daffodil Delight and then added the small three-dot image in Daffodil Delight multiple times.

Then I fussy cut the flower. 🙂

I dry fit the flower over the gold-embossed sprays, and then stamped the sentiment from Painted Harvest in Versamark and heat embossed it in Gold.

Painted Harvets Count My Blessings - Stamps-N-Lingers 3

I put a few Glue Dots on the back of my fussy cut flower and used them to wind multiple loops of Gold Metallic Thread round, then I popped the flower onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish off the card front, I added a few Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes.

On the inside, I added another Powder Pink and Sweet Sugarplum flower from Painted Harvest.  And I finished the middle with more Daffodil Delight.

Painted Harvets Count My Blessings - Stamps-N-Lingers 5

I Fast Fuse’d the panel on a Powder Pink mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another of the Painted Harvest flowers on the front…

Painted Harvets Count My Blessings - Stamps-N-Lingers 6

…and some more Count My Blessings flower sprays – stamped in Pear Pizzazz and colored with my Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker – on the envelope flap.

Painted Harvets Count My Blessings - Stamps-N-Lingers 7

Et Voila!  Painted Harvest brings yet another gorgeous flower to life, this time accented by the pretty and delicate flower sprays in the Count My Blessings stamp set.  Hope you like! 🙂

Finn-Fan Fix

We had a good time yesterday at Scout’s house!

Matt’s girlfriend, Kaitlin, brought her female Aussie, named Hannah.

That’s right – 3 Aussies – and Finn was the youngest.

And – biggest!

He had a total blast.

There were sticks involved…

IMG_9687

Hannah played referee.

This particular standoff lasted quite some time, with both of them just staring at each other.  Their expressions were so serious and intense.  Getting the stick is important Aussie business.  Please note that Hannah is ensuring that no stick-tug rules are being broken.

IMG_4511 2

At the end of the day, he was tired but really happy.  And quite ready to go home! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Thankful Life Sneak Peek for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop!  This week we all worked with a color challenge – and so that means the projects are wide open as far as layout of the cards.  Heck – they may not even be cards!! 🙂 I hope you’ll spend some time scrolling thru all the Blog Hoppers’ offerings today!

Here’s the color scheme we were working with!

14064032_10210533913652389_2223073235227761822_n
Such pretty soft colors, yes?  I did a little bit of faux Bokeh technique, using it to bring out the pretty flowers in the 2017 Occasions Catalog Host-Exclusive set called Thankful Life.  This one will be available on 4 Jan to workshop hosts or folks whose individual orders total over $150.  This is a beautiful multi-step stamp set, and was all I needed to make today’s card. Take a look-see:

thankful-life-4-stamps-n-lingers
I started with a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Using a couple of sponge daubers, I tap-tapped on my Soft Sky ink pad and then tapped the card stock.  I did that all over – leaving white space for my second color.  I mostly daubed-off once before stamping the card, and then would daub a couple of times without re-inking.  I also made sure to overlap some of my daubs.  Dabs?  Then I did the same again with my Sweet Sugarplum ink pad.  I kept adding until I was happy with the effect!

thankful-life-2-stamps-n-lingers
I used my Soft Sky Stampin’ Write Marker to “stitch” around the edge of the panel, then I SNAILd it to a Sweet Sugarplum mat.

My center art section is another piece of Whisper White – and I rounded the corners on it with my Project Life Corner Rounder.  Using the Thankful Life stamp set, I stamped the flowers first – beginning with Soft Sky for the “leaves and stems” image.

For the second image, I inked up with Sweet Sugarplum and stamped it off once, then stamped it over the first image.  Then I took the third flowers image and stamped it full strength in Sweet Sugarplum.  All you have to do is keep the arrows on each stamp going in the same direction and you’ll be making a masterpiece!

thankful-life-8-stamps-n-lingers
The vase is stamped in Soft Sky, and then I added the “highlight” image to the vase.  It’s kind of cool the way it works – I wasn’t sure I’d be able to see the highlight since both it and the vase are done in Soft Sky.  But…Stampin’ Up! made it work perfectly! 🙂

The sentiment, also from Thankful Life, is stamped across the vase in Sweet Sugarplum.

I rounded the corners of a piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock with the outside corner rounder on my Envelope Punch board, and SNAILd the art panel to it.  Like the card front, I used my Soft Sky Stampin’ Write Marker to make “stitches” around the edge.  And then I decided to make it look a little like a hanging picture.

Using my 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch, I punched two holes in the top of my art panel.  Then I ran a length of Pool Party (sorry – not Soft Sky, but pretty darned close!) 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon thru the two holes.  I went from the front to the back with the ribbon and cut it pretty short. I popped the art panel on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – then I stuck the cut ends of the ribbon to the card front with a couple of Glue Dots.  Man – I wish someone had taken a picture of this process for you. 😉

thankful-life-1-stamps-n-lingers
I finished it off with a small bow tied from the Pool Party ribbon and adhered with a Glue Dot over the cut ends of my “picture hangar”.  And that was it for the card front! 🙂

On the inside, I started with another Whisper White panel and stamped a second sentiment from Thankful Life in Sweet Sugarplum,  Around the edges, I added the little dots image in Soft Sky, then repeated my faux Bokeh around the edges.

thankful-life-5-stamps-n-lingers
I SNAILd the panel to a Sweet Sugarplum mat and into my Soft Sky card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done! 🙂

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got Soft Sky and Sweet Sugarplum Bokeh on the front – plus some Soft Sky little dots…

thankful-life-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and more Bokeh on the envelope flap.

thankful-life-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  I love this sweet vaseful of flowers brought to you courtesy of the Host-Exclusive Thankful Life stamp set – available in January!  And this faux Bokeh….I love how it looks – so soft and kind of dreamy.  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Blessed by Pines and Paisleys

Good morning, y’all!  Hope you’re enjoying your weekend – we’re in huddle-in-the-house-cuz-it’s-sweltering-outside mode.  Still.  Not again – cuz it hasn’t abated at any point.  So…still.  And I am oh-so-ready for Fall!  This morning, when I stepped out to go feed, I swore – swore! – that I felt just a little tinge of cool underneath the humidity.

I was wrong.  Or if I was right, I was only right for like…2 minutes.  By the time I was done, I was dripping sweat in my usual oh-so-delicate and feminine way.

Now there’s a mind picture you can’t get rid of – sorry!

So, now that I’ve put you off your breakfast, let’s take a gander at my card.  My new 2016 Holiday Catalog goodies calling my name, demanding to be used.  It was hard to pick one, but in the end, I went with my heart.  As I foresaw yesterday, I used the brand-new Christmas Pines Bundle and the Pine Bough TIEF.  I added a little touch from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set.  And I even grabbed some paper from the Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack.    But my goal was to not make a Christmas card.  Take a look-see:

PInes and Paisley Blessed 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Well?  Does it scream Christmas?  I don’t think so, but…I could be biased.

This layout comes from the sketch challenge #248 at Freshly Made Sketches.

FMS248 Sketch

I started by finding a design from the Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack.  It looks a lot like an unfortunate pair of pants – slacks! – I think I wore in high school.  It definitely doesn’t work as pants – but it works quite well on a card!  Especially when matted on some Crushed Curry.

The middle panel is a piece of Soft Suede card stock, that I ran thru the brand new Pine Bough TIEF.  I mounted it, with the de-bossed side showing, on Crushed Curry as well – then SNAILd it to the card front.

Pines and Paisley Blessed 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
My sentiment is from the new Paisleys & Posies stamp set – stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla.  I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch and matted it on Crushed Curry – with those corners rounded using my Envelope Punch Board.

Then I started to create my pine cone arrangement.  If you’ve been following me at all – you know I like to fussy cut!  But on this one, no fussy cutting was involved – this is all the Pretty Pines Thinlits!

I cut some pine cones – the detailed pieces and the backs from Copper Foil Sheets and some Chocolate Chip card stock.  Take a look at how cool they are!

Pines and Paisley Blessed 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
They really do a number with the Copper Foil, don’t they?  That bottom pine cone is two-piece – the top is Copper Foil and the bottom is Chocolate Chip – both are cut with the Thinlits.  I also cut a few pine boughs from some Old Olive and Soft Suede.  And a few…berries?…from Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze.

To build the arrangement, I used a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to lay down a length of the 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon.  I used a couple of Glue Dots and wound a few loops of Copper Metallic Thread.  Then I started to adhere the elements I’d cut, using Liquid Glue.  When I got to that last cone, I popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pines and Paisley Blessed 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I popped my sentiment on with some Stampin’ Dimensionals – nestling it into the pine cones and boughs.  For a final touch, I tied a length of Linen Thread onto a new Mini Pinecone and made a little bow, which I adhered with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Paisleys & Posies in Cajun Craze to a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I adhered another couple of pine boughs and a third pine cone.  And I added a little bow – cut from Cajun Craze with the die in the Pretty Pines Thinlits.

Pines and Paisley Blessed 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into a Cajun Craze card base.  I also SNAILd the card front on – there’s plenty of thickness already!  And that was it for the card.

Pines and Paisley Blessed 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I stamped one of the pine bough images from Christmas Pines.  This is a two-step image.  I stamped the first step in Old Olive that I’d stamped off once, and the second step in full strength Old Olive.  I added a two step pine cone – the first step in stamped-off-once Soft Suede and the second step in full strength Soft Suede.  Then I added a couple of Enamel Shapes in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry…

Pines and Paisley Blessed 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and I gave the envelope flap a custom look with some more of the Warmth & Cheer DSP stack paper.

Pines and Paisley Blessed 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  Who says pine cones have to be for Christmas?  I don’t think so – I think they’re year-round decor! I hope you like this card as much as I do!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the goodies you need to make this for yourself!

Stampin’ Up! Botanicals Thanks For You!

Well, it’s happened.  I’ve got projects to share stockpiled on my desk.  We’re done with our project.  There’re no more excuses.  All that’s left is to tape together boxes, load them up and get them to the post office tomorrow.  And then I’m out on Saturday!  I do have to keep reminding myself that I have tomorrow to pack and mail and mentally prepare.  You’d think I’d be extra anxious to leave and get home, but…I’m not all that comfortable with changes.  It’s forever been true for me that I’m better at being gone than I am at getting gone.  It’s why I do 3 – 4 month trips versus a couple of weeks and then home and then back and then home….  I nest up.  I get comfy where I am and in the routine du jour.  Switching it up….yuk.

But, tomorrow it’s time – and, truthfully, once I start the process and get into it – all will be well.  It’s funny, I can almost feel my brain make the transition from being “here” to being “there”.  I can’t predict when it will happen – but I’ll all of a sudden realize, sometime between right this second and getting on the plane on Sunday….I’m ready to be home!

And that probably falls into the TMI category, and what-the-heck-is-she-talking-about-why-doesn’t-she-get-on-with-the-card!! 😉  Sorry.

So, for today, I have a card that leans heavily on some of the beautiful papers and stamps in the Sale-a-Bration flyer.  Wildflower Fields DSP is some of the prettiest paper I’ve seen.  I’ve combined it with another of the free goodies in the SAB – Botanicals For You.  Add in the ever-versatile One Big Meaning, from the Annual Catalog and a little Botanical Garden Designer Vellum and….take a look-see:
