Stampin’ Up! Scribbly Reason for the Season!

Mornin’, y’all – welcome to another Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop. We’re doing a Theme Hop and today celebrates Winter Holidays! That kind of leaves things wide open, so I’m betting you’ll see all sorts of projects today. Do take the time to check them all out when you’re done here! 🙂

Even with all the possibility of “Winter Holiday” – I went pretty old school.  It might have been because on Sunday morning, we went and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  And they had the whole Country Store decorated for Christmas!  And boy do they do it up!  All the pretty things, all of which are right up my country-inclined-alley, made my vow to DE-clutter and DE-stuffify…..waiver dangerously!  Only Wayne, giving me the “you’ve got to be kidding me” eyeball, kept me from adding more stuff to my Christmas stash. 🙂

So, when I got home and started working on my card plan for today, I was definitely thinking “CHRISTMAS!”.  Making a Christmas card seemed like a much more “sane” option than putting up my Christmas tree!! 🙂  As a result, I pulled out some Reason for the Season, my Swirly Scribbles and Pretty Pine Thinlits, and a few more goodies to make this card.  Take a look-see:

I used a sketch design from Viva La Verve to help with the layout of this one.  This is their first sketch for October:

vlvoct2016-sketch
To start off, I embossed a panel of Whisper White card stock in the Holly TIEF and matted it on a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Then I laid down two strips of Warmth & Cheer Designer Washi Tape.

The next layer is some Cherry Cobbler plaid paper from the Warmth & Cheer DSP stack, matted on Cherry Cobbler and SNAILd over the Washi Tape.

I cut two “wreath” shapes from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits – one in Basic Gray and one in Emerald Envy – then used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them to the card.  Next came a couple of pine boughs, from the Pretty Pines Thinlits, in Emerald Envy and two Cherry Cobbler berry die cuts.

I used the Reason for the Season stamp set for my sentiment, stamping it on a piece of Whisper White in Cherry Cobbler.  I cut the end with my Banner Triple Punch and matted it on Cherry Cobbler – which I’d also punched.  I adhered it with Liquid Glue.

The final piece of the puzzle is the poinsettia!  I cut a bunch of the smallest petals in the Festive Flower Builder Punch from Whisper White card stock.  These are the ones where there are two petals punched at the same time, so I cut them all apart.  Then I flicked all the edges with a Cherry Cobbler-inked sponge.  Using my stylus, I curled each petal.

I cut a small circle of Whisper White card stock with my 1/2″ Circle punch and then began adhering the petals to the circle with Liquid Glue.  I just kept adding and turning the flower until I got what you see in the picture above!

The center is also punched with the Festive Flower Builder Punch, from a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock.  I cut two of them and adhered them with some Liquid Glue.  To finish it off, I added a Cherry Cobbler Enamel Shape.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I repeated the Warmth & Cheer Designer Washi Tape running vertically up the long side of a Whisper White panel.

I SNAILd the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Basic Gray card base.  I also SNAILd the card front on – the flower is plenty of dimension, all by itself!  And that was it for the card.

I kept it simple for the Whisper White Medium Envelope, running Warmth & Cheer Designer Washi Tape across the front…

…and adding some more of the Cherry Cobbler Warmth & Cheer DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A poinsettia for Christmas.  I love how all the different elements came together, united by the colors in the Warmth & Cheer DSP.  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Versatile Christmas Poinsettia

Good morning, y’all.  Hope that you had a wonderful weekend and are ready to get the week going!

This was a busy weekend for me – we’re moving to a second shift schedule this week, meaning I’ll get back to the hotel each day around midnight. 🙁  For those of you who’ve been following me, you know that’s not my favorite work schedule!  I’m a 9pm bedtime kinda girl!  And, it really messes with my card making time.  So, I spent the weekend making cards so I’d be able to keep sharing something with you each day!

Today’s project is a Christmas card, featuring Versatile Christmas for the sentiments (Versatile Christmas is on the Retiring list – so if you want it, now’s the time!) and the beautiful Festive Flower punch.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Reason for the Season Festive Flower for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop!

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Good Blog-Hop-Thursday-Morning to y’all!  I hope you’re ready for some beautiful projects from all the Ladies-Who-Hop.  Yes – I know.  Those are the exact same words I used last week to open up the Blog Hop post.  Let’s call it our little tradition, shall we? 🙂

When this posts, I’ll be starting day 2 of my meeting here in Savannah.  Yesterday, we were done at 11:30.  Yes.  A.M.  After starting at the crack of 9 am.  I’m not entirely sure why day 2 wasn’t in the afternoon….but, not my meeting, so….I’ll spend another day in lovely Savannah!  Which I’m currently spending in my room.  I’ve got a show on the television playing in the background called Million Dollar Real Estate (Listing??) Los Angeles.  Have you ever seen it?  One realtor dude shows up in a different high dollar car – Porsche, Mercedes, Bentley – in almost every shot.  He did one deal where he made – HIS commission – $487,000.  Four Hundred.  Eighty Seven.  THOUSAND dollars.  In.  One.  Deal.

I’m definitely in the wrong line of work.

Of course, he has to drive around in Hollywood traffic.  So….there’s that.

He doesn’t seem to mind.

$487,000.  One deal.

Sheesh!!

On to the reason you’re here!  Today’s blog hop challenge was a color challenge – we were to use Mossy Meadow, Real Red and Very Vanilla.

5 Nov Happy Stamper Blog Hop challenge

Pretty darned perfect colors for a Christmas card, yes?  And even perfect-er for Home for Christmas DSP, Reason for the Season, and the Festive Flower punch.  Toldja you’d see a festive flower again this week! 🙂  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Reason for the Season Treat Holder

Well, here I am.  It’s Tuesday night and I’m readying my post for the morning.  I’m in Savannah, GA.  Arguably a very food-y city.  Home of Paula Deen.  And….other chef-people.  And seafood!  Lots and lots of fresh seafood!

I arrived around 4:30, tired – not a terribly long drive but one that was undertaken in a rental car that’s annoying.  And smells like an ash tray.  A feature I didn’t notice – for whatever reason – when I picked it up on Monday evening.  After a morning where things just didn’t want to work right as I tried to get out the door.  Fortunately, Bo remains “good”, so that didn’t come into play.  Just not a great morning, okay?

So, I get here tired.  And hungry.  And find out I’m in what appears to be the only Hampton Inn and Suites on the planet with no mini-fridge and microwave in the room.  Wondering what to do with the bottle of froo-froo Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer sitting in my cooler.  And watching it start to rain – buckets.

I solved the creamer issue – they brought a teensy mini-fridge.  Done.

I start to look for suitable dinner ideas.  I’m not far from really anything.  I look thru the “This is Savannah” pretty picture book in the room.  Seafood restaurants.  Steak.  BBQ.  The Savannah Sweet Shop.  So.  Many.  Options!

Rain.

Buckets.

Wind.

Final answer – a medium Pepperoni/Sausage pizza and some hot wings from Dominoes.  In my slippers.  In the dry room.  And, because it’s been a crappy kind of day and I don’t want to be here, I self-medicated to take the edge off.  Just a little.

With Cinna-Sticks and frosting.

I am a party animal.  There’s no doubt about it. 😉

But – here’s what I brought along to share with you guys for tomorrow.  Which will be today when you read this.  All Hail the ability to schedule posts to go out the next day!  There’s no telling what kind of gibberish you’d get if I actually typed the posts in the morning!!

This is a great little treat box – using a SU! Tag-a-Bag gift box (like I used for this cute Halloween box) and the Reason for the Season stamp set and bundled Festive Flower Builder punch.  Take a look-see:
