Stampin’ Up! A Summer Bike Ride for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Knew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month is Celebrate Summer!!  We were given free rein to interpret that any way we liked….so, be sure to check out all the ladies’ blogs.  I know you’re going to see some awesome projects!

Being down here in Florida for this one, my mind sort of went to bike rides on the beach.  And, handily enough, we have a brand new stamp set and bundle that just’s the thing!  I used the Bike Ride stamp set and bundled Build A Bike Framelits for my offering today – take a look-see:

My layout and design elements were inspired by the sketch and photo from this week’s Fusion challenge.

I started with one of my very favorite wood designs in the Wood Textures DSP Stack – matting it on a piece of So Saffron card stock – for the card front.

Next up, I made two more – smaller – panels to work with the sketch (you can see I turned the sketch on its side), both are matted on So Saffron.  First, I adhered a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I SNAILd the first panel (which is another piece of Wood Textures DSP) over the top.

To build my “beach sign” I used a piece of Smoky Slate card stock and adhered four strips of colored card stock to it.  I used Tempting Turquoise, Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral – and I lightly sponged their edges with Crumb Cake.  I adhered them all to the Smoky Slate panel and then ran the whole thing thru my Big Shot in the Pinewood Planks TIEF.

Then I stamped a sentiment from the Pieces & Patterns stamp set in Calypso Coral on the top “board”.  Upon further reflection – it would have been a little easier to stamp my sentiment and THEN emboss it in the TIEF.  But this way worked, too – although I did have to do a little touch up with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker. 😉  I adhered it to its So Saffron mat and added it to the card front with Fast Fuse.

And then it was Build a Bike (framelit) time!  I stamped the parts of the bike on Whisper White, using a bunch of the fun images in the Bike Ride stamp set.  The bike is in So Saffron, with Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay tires.  I cut the front basket from a piece of Smoky Slate card stock.  The dog, books and flowers bunches were all stamped in Chocolate Chip and then colored with various Stampin’ Write Markers (So Saffron, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight).  I even cut some So Saffron “streamers” and adhered them to the handlebars!

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the bike on top of my “beach sign” – then added the books and pooch with Dimensionals and the two flower bunches with Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.  The final touch is a tiny Linen Thread bow, adhered with a dab of Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added another flower bunch from the Bike Ride stamp set in Chocolate Chip – and colored it in with Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo Markers – to a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Chocolate Chip card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Bike Ride flower bunch on the front…

…and I added some more Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think a bike ride on the beach – with my books, some flowers and my dog (pretend it’s Finn!)  – would be a nice way to spend a summer day.  Except for the lack of air conditioning! 😉  So…I’ll get my beach ride fix with the cool new Bike Ride stamp set and Build a Bike Framelits!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Pieces & Patterns for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Mornin’, y’all!  Welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!  This month, our theme is “Use Something from the New Catalog”.  Easy Peasy!!  I’m looking forward to seeing what all our talented ladies come up with – and hope you’ll spend some time exploring the hop when you’re done here!

Today’s card is kind of fun.  Why?  Cuz I’ve used some of our new Embossing Paste and Pattern Party Decorative Masks!  I added a sentiment from the Pieces & Patterns stamp set – and another couple three flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet bundle.  Take a look-see:

My layout is from this week’s challenge over at CAS(E) This Sketch.

And my colors and several design elements were inspired by this photo from The Card Concept.

I made this as a notecard sized card – partly because my original design plan was going to go better with that size.  But when I changed horses in the middle of the stream – I just stuck with it.

I started with a Very Vanilla panel and, using a Pattern Party Decorative Mask, added some Embossing Paste texture to part of the panel.  I’ll do another card with the Embossing Paste – maybe for my video next Sunday – but you should know it’s really easy to work with.  It also dries pretty quickly!

Once it had dried, I matted the panel on a piece of Soft Suede (a nod to the wall paint in the inspiration photo!).  Then I wrapped a piece of new Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon around the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

For my sentiment, I inked up the sentiment from the Pieces & Patterns stamp set with Versamark and heat embossed it in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits square die.  I matted it on two scalloped squares that I cut with a die from the Squares Layering Framelits.  One is in Very Vanilla and the other in Berry Burst.  I used Liquid Glue to mat the sentiment onto the Very Vanilla square.

I used a little more Liquid Glue to adhere the Berry Burst square to the card front, then popped the Very Vanilla Square and sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To make the flowers I pulled out the pretty flower from Beautiful Bouquet and stamped it three times in Berry Burst on Very Vanilla.  Then I cut them all out with the matching die from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  They’re adhered with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to the sentiment square.

I finished the front off with a few Silver Sequins that I pulled off a strand of new Mini Sequin Trim, adhering them with tiny eensy dabs of Liquid Glue!

My inside Very Vanilla panel got some graphics – to tie in with the chairs in the photo.  Using the large die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits, I cut out a Basic Black shape.  I used the shape as a template and then adhered the cut-out pieces in the negative spaces with Liquid Glue.  When I picked up the template, here’s what was left!

I adhered the panel to a Soft Suede mat and into my Basic Black note card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Note Card Envelope (yep – we now have Very Vanilla Note Cards and Envelopes!!) got another Beautiful Bouquet flower in Berry Burst on the front…

…and then I added some Berry Burst paper in a graphic-y design from the Fresh Florals DSP Stack to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Loving the new Embossing Paste!!  What a fun way to add texture – and you can even color it with some drops of re-inker!  May try that soon, too.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Pieces & Patterns Sneak Peek

Good morning, y’all!  I’ve got a quick and easy super-simple-single-stamp-set-sneak-peek card for you today – cuz I know everyone’s busy with weekend things!

The Pick a Pattern Suite includes a fun and colorful Designer Paper and a cute little stamp set called Pieces & Patterns.

I let the designer paper do a lot of the work on this little card with the stamp set playing a supporting role.  Take a look-see:

The layout comes from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week.

I started with a piece of the Pick a Pattern DSP in Flirty Flamingo, SNAILing it to a Basic Black mat.  I think this paper is so fun – when I look at it I think of the Mystery Machine.  You know – the van in the Scooby-Doo cartoons?!?  I know – it was blue and green, but…still! 😊

The middle layer is a piece of Whisper White, also matted on Basic Black.  I stamped the sentiment from Pieces & Patterns in Flirty Flamingo near the bottom of the panel.  I surrounded it with the little circles image from the set.  They’re stamped in Sahara Sand ink  – I stamped it off on scrap paper before stamping the panel.  Then I colored a few of the circles with my Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Markers and adhered the panel to the card front with SNAIL.

For my little flowers, I stamped them in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White card stock and fussy cut them.  I colored a couple of them in Emerald Envy and one in Crushed Curry.  Then I adhered the Crushed Curry flower with Liquid Glue and popped the others on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish it off, I added some Crushed Curry Glitter Enamel Dots to the flowers and near the sentiment.  These are fun little embellishments – you get different sizes and they come in ombre shading!

On the inside, I added some more of the little circles in stamped-off-once Sahara Sand and colored them in Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy.

I SNAILd the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Pieces & Patterns circles…

…and a bit more of the Pick a Pattern DSP on the envelope flap.  I also added another little Pieces & Patterns flower in Basic Black Archival Ink, Emerald Envy and Crushed Curry.

Et Voila!  I think this is a fun little card – and you could change up the color scheme for the sentiment and flowers.  Hope you like and will be adding this to your wish list!

Finn-Fan Fix…

Poor pooped puppy!!

I’ve not seen him so quiet since the first days he lived with us and wasn’t sure what was what!

He spent most of Friday like this….

…either in the house with the A/C on or under the golf cart.

But – he’s a resilient soul.  By feeding time yesterday evening…back to pretty much normal.

We were taking the trash to the can and getting the mail.  He likes to carry the leash when it’s on him.

We don’t know why.

It makes him happy, so…I’m good with it!

Suspecting we’ll see the return of the boinger some time today! 🙂
