Good morning and happy Friday! Hope you’ve had a wonderful week – and have something fun planned for the weekend!
Speaking of fun – I’ve got a really fun fun fold for you today! It marries a book fold card with a pop-up card to make a…pop-up book fold card! This one is decorated with new Lily of the Valley flowers, a Scalloped Blooms frame from Valley in Bloom DSP and beautiful Floral Spray 3D Embossing. Take a look-see:
And this one fit pretty perfectly with The Paper Players theme challenge this week!
I started with the book-fold part of the card.
I scored a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock at 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” on the long side. Then I folded the 5 1/2” score line as a “mountain” – and at the 6 3/4” score in the opposite direction. Topographically speaking, that would be a “valley” fold!

Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.
Next, I embossed a 4 1/8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pool Party cardstock in the new Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder. I cut off 1 1/8″ from the left end and adhered it to the book fold panel (the narrow panel on the left) with Liquid Glue.
Then I adhered the remainder to the front panel with Liquid Glue, making sure to keep the embossed design intact. Note: you may need to trim a bit from the right edge of this panel – the embossing may “stretch” it some. You want it to be 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ when you adhere it.
Using the second and third from largest Scalloped Blooms dies at the same time, I cut out a frame from a piece of the pretty plaid Valley in Bloom DSP, which I then adhered to the front panel with Liquid Glue.
To make the pretty foliage, I stamped the small Lily of the Valley four times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut them out with the coordinating die in the set. Note: the stamp set is on backorder (it’s WILDLY popular) but will be back in mid-May!
On some Granny Apple Green cardstock, I stamped the two-leaf image from the set twice in Tuxedo Black and cut them out with THEIR die!
Using a Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, I added a little color at the tops of each of the flowers. Then I used the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves. I used the Dark Granny Apple Blend to add some shading on the Granny Apple Green die cut leaves, too.
I cut one of the two-leaf die cuts in half (I only needed three of the four leaves that I made) – and then, using Liquid Glue, adhered it all to the card front – making sure that none of the leaves or flowers (or anything, really!) extended past the card base – OR over the “hinge”!
I used the little hash-marks die in the Lily of the Valley die set to cut out a hash-mark shape from Lemon Lolly Pastels Shimmer Specialty Paper. Then I adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.
I tied a bow from two lengths of white Baker’s Twine and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
On a 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Lily of the Valley sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some Granny Apple Green Shimmering Dots and a few white 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies and the card front was done.
For the fun pop-up surprise inside, I folded a 6″ x 6″ piece of Valley in Bloom DSP in half in both directions. Making note of the Up vs Down of the DSP – I folded it into a triangle. This highly professional photo shows the scores. You only need one diagonal fold.
I burnished all the score lines in both directions and then folded in on the diagonal lines – when you do this, you’ll end up with a square. Trust me – watch the video!
I took two 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ pieces of Basic White cardstock and adhered one to the right-hand UNscored square with Liquid Glue. On the other – keeping the square in a diamond orientation, I stamped a Lily of the Valley sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink. Next to it I stamped the small Lily of the Valley flower in Tuxedo Black and colored it with the blends.
I added another Shimmering Dot and used Liquid Glue to adhere the square to the left-hand UNscored square.
I folded the square up and used Liquid Glue on the back to adhere it to the inside back of the card base. Then I put Liquid Glue on the top and closed the card to adhere it to the backside of the card front and the card was done. When it opens up….you see the whole popup!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Lily of the Valley floral on the front…
…and more of the Valley in Bloom DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Well – this was truly a FUN fold to make – and it’s a wonderful way to showcase gorgeous Valley in Bloom DSP – or any of our OTHER beautiful papers! And the florals from Lily of the Valley bundle are as pretty as the REAL flowers – and a heckuva lot easier to “grow”! At least they are for me! And – once again – Scalloped Blooms Dies. Just sayin’!!
I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
We had chicken grilled on the indoor grill thingy tonight.
The dogs are BIG fans – cuz…when the plates cool – I MAKE them clean them off – in preparation for soaking and then into the dishwasher. PRE-Pre-Wash, if you will.
They are BOTH dedicated helpers
Addy has fully accepted that “helping” in the kitchen is just part of the deal.
She’ll even help Finn hold HIS plate down, too! She’s got plenty of paws for that!!
