Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
The sketch we worked with this week was perfect for really showcasing some pretty new DSP – so…I forced myself to reach for my FAVE new DSP – the Moonlit Flora DSP. And – then I let it do the work – pairing it with a simple sentiment and a few pretty die cut florals from the coordinating Fern & Flora Bundle. Take a look-see:
And here’s that sketch!
I started by using the next-to-largest die from the new Sweet Words & Labels die set to cut out from the center of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Moonlit Flora DSP. I adhered the larger part of the panel to the front of my Secret Sea card base using Liquid Glue.
Using the largest Sweet Words & Labels die – I cut out a Barely Blush mat. I adhered the DSP die cut to the cardstock die cut mat with Liquid Glue, then adhered it to the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – making sure to cover the “hole” AND line up the design! 🙂
Using the dies in the Fern & Flora set, I cut out some little flower pieces (each flower takes two pieces to assemble) from Golden Glow cardstock. Note: The flower die in the set cuts out the petals you need to make three flowers each time you run it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. I also cut out six Basic White flower centers.
I adhered the flower pieces together with Liquid Glue, and then adhered them to the two Peaceful Pine die cut stems/leaves that I’d also cut out with the die in the set.
I cut out some foliage from 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Specialty Paper: two fiddlehead ferns in Golden Glow and two ferns from Peaceful Pine.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two completed flower “plants” to the card front.
I tied a bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Fern & Flora frame in Peaceful Pine ink. Inside it, I stamped a sentiment in Secret Sea ink. Then I cut it out with the label die in the set.
Using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the sentiment over the bow.
Then I tucked the ferns into the collage – cutting them as needed to fit – and securing them with Liquid Glue.
I added some white 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped another Fern & Flora sentiment in Secret Sea ink on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped the big fern image in Peaceful Pine ink. Then I stamped a small butterfly from the set a few times in Secret Sea ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel inside the Secret Sea card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Peaceful Pine fern and Secret Sea butterflies on the front…
…and more of the Moonlit Flora DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Wow – the Moonlit Flora DSP is just spectacular, isn’t it? Those foliage images on the Secret Sea background is so rich and gorgeous. Add the sentiments and die cut foliage from the coordinating Fern & Flora bundle and you’re good to go. And this card once again showcases the new Sweet Words & Labels (part of the Silly Old Bear suite – a new Online Exclusive!) – it’s a real workhorse and one you prolly need on your shelf! 🙂
I hope you like!
