Stampin’ Up! Wildly Happy with a Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a Theme Challenge from the talented LeAnne this week and it’ll for sure jump-start your creative mojo!  I hope you’ll come and play along.  🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

When I saw the theme for this week, I first thought “giraffe”.  Loves me some giraffes.  But then I remembered that I also kinda love elephants.  So…I pulled out the sweet Wildly Happy stamp set and a few die sets and….take a look-see:

And here’s this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge!  Hope you’ll challenge your inner zoologist and join the fun and show us your projects!  I can’t wait to see what you create!  🙂

And the layout is from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week!

This one is just a few die cuts and some stamping – easy peasy!  So…here we go!

I started with a panel of Whisper White and, in the bottom corner, I stamped the sweet little sentiment from the Wildly Happy set in Granny Apple Green.  Then I ran the panel thru the die cutting/embossing machine in the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder.  I matted the panel on Daffodil Delight for the card front.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered an Ornate Layers rectangle die cut from Granny Apple Green Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP.

The next layer – from the Stitched So Sweetly die set – is cut from Daffodil Delight DSP (also in the Brights pack) and adhered with Liquid Glue.

For the art, I stamped the sweet elephant mama and baby in Gray Granite on Whisper White and cut it with a square Stitched Shapes Die.  Then I colored them with my Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack and popped them onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a Granny Apple Green Glitter Enamel Dot and, with a Glue Dot, a small bow tied from Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Ruched Ribbon and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Wildly Happy in Granny Apple Green on a Whisper White panel. A Daffodil Delight-matted strip of Granny Apple Green Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP across the bottom finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Granny Apple Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got mom and kid on the front…

…and some Daffodil Delight Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Wildly Happy is such a sweet little stamp set – with four different little “families” and several nice sentiments in beautiful fonts!

And the Tufted background, Ornate Layers, Stitched So Sweetly and Stitched Shapes all worked to give this card lots of texture and fun, don’t you think?  This exact card could be made more gender-specific just by picking different DSP  and ink colors – and any of the four animals groupings would make for an adorable card!  I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Now – before you reach for your ink and papers, check out what our amazing team has created to inspire you this week:

Stampin’ Up! Wildly Happy Video Tutorial Sneak Peek

Morning, y’all!  Welcome to the weekend!  GA is officially locked down.

I DID go to Sam’s yesterday – I HAD to have my bags of shredded lettuce.  It’s a mainstay of my diet program and…I gotta come out the other side of this still maintaining my weight.  So…needs must.  I was masked and armed with a huge bottle of Lysol Wipes.  Wiped everything as I took it off the shelf, scanned the barcode (to avoid the nasty cash register area), tucked each item into one of my Thirty One Totes that I’d placed in the basket, wiped it all AGAIN as I put it in the car.  Sprayed the totes with Lysol when I got home.  Shucked my clothes at the washer and took a shower.

I’m trying not to buy into the whole “cray cray” but…I’m definitely nibbling at the edges! 😉

So…tonight, let’s get together on Facebook – I’ll go live at 7pm Eastern, over on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page.  We’ll make a sweet and easy little new baby card, using the Wildly Happy stamp set (from the Annual Catalog).  Take a sneaky peek!

Yep – it’s in one of my fave color schemes!

Hope you’ll be able to join me.

Tonight.  7pm eastern.  Right here.

Stampin’ Up! Easter Promise on Pressed Petals with a Video Tutorial!

Good Friday morning, y’all!  It’s day 498 of Social Distancing.

Not really – just sort of feels like it is, doesn’t it??   It’s really starting to get real – another 30 days??  AND – Georgia just followed other states by issuing a Stay Home Order starting today.  Good idea – it’s NECESSARY.  But…I feel pretty confident that NO ONE will believe me when I whine that having my house cleaned (and not by me!)….IS essential!

And now you know.  I AM a first-world-sissy-baby.

C’mon, Mare – you’ve got a house, and food, and electricity.  The dog and cat and horses have food.  Wayne can fix or cobble together anything we need.  ZEWS 1 is on the job.  We’re healthy – and getting to the two-weeks-since-we’ve-been-anywhere-so-surely-that-means-we’re-completely-healthy point.  So…waaaaa.

Sorry.  I’m over it now.

Since along with a house and power comes internet (Thank goodness!) I was able to go live yesterday on my YouTube channel.  If you were able to join me – I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

The card we made is a pretty – and pretty easy!! – Easter card, using the Easter Promise stamp set from the Jan – Jun Mini Catalog, a sweet Ornate Layers Die cut and some Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (2019-2020 Annual Catalog).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one came from the Mojo Monday challenge…I THINK you can see which sketch I used! 😉

And the Easter theme fits right into the Inspire. Create.  Challenge!

I started with some of the pretty sheet music paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on So Saffron for the card front.

Next, with the long, narrow die from the new Ornate Layers Die Set, I cut a Purple Posy rectangle.  I ran it thru the die cutting machine in the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then, I matted a strip of wood-grain Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on So Saffron and adhered it over top with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Very Vanilla rectangle with the next-to-largest Stitched So Sweetly die and stamped the big Easter Promise sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

Next to it – also in Mossy Meadow – I added the floral spray.

I colored the flowers with my Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends Combo and the stems with my Light Mossy Meadow Blend.

Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a Glue Dot to adhere a Linen Thread double-loop bow, which I topped with a purple Frosted Flower Embellishment and a Champagne Rhinestone.  And that was it for the card front.

Speaking of Glue Dots, though…

Other side of the room by my photo box.  No.  Clue.  Why.  🤷‍♀️

Anywho….

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Easter Promise in Mossy Meadow on a Very Vanilla panel.  I added the flowers, in Mossy Meadow, again in the corner, coloring them as I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Purple Posy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Easter Promises flowers on the front…

…and more Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Spring and Easter all rolled up in one!  Don’t let the Easter Promise stamp set – with it’s elegant flowers and simple sentiments – pass you by!  Easter is coming soon – and cards with messages of the hope of Easter are going to be especially welcome this year, I’m thinking!

I hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Framed Tropical Oasis For the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a nice color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

The color challenge headed me straight at the Tropical Oasis DSP.  And, of course, the wonderful Timeless Tropical Bundle – and…the Perfectly Framed stamp set (I thought the sentiment was pretty spot-on right now!).  Take a look-see:

So – our color scheme…

And, I pulled the layout from this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

I started with some paper from the Tropical Oasis DSP – I embossed it in the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and then matted it on Real Red to make the card front.  From an Old Olive design, I cut a banner with the Triple Banner Punch, embossed it in the Coastal Weave folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used my Stamparatus and the Marker-to-Rubber inking technique to stamp the tops of the Timeless Tropical palm trees in Old Olive on Very Vanilla.  I cut the image with the matching die in the In The Tropics die set.

I stamped the large flower from the Timeless Tropical set in Real Red.  Then I colored it with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack – and the Blends Color Lifter.   I stamped three leaves in Old Olive and colored them with the Old Olive Stampin’ Blend Combo Pack.  Then I cut all of the pieces out with the matching dies in the In The Tropics set.

I spritzed a piece of Old Olive with water using my Stampin’ Spritzer and cut two palm leaves.

I stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Framed in Real Red on a piece of Very Vanilla and cut it with a die in the Ornate Frames die set.  I also cut a larger – more ORNATE (see what I did there!) frame from a piece of Vellum Card Stock.

I laid out my collage – adding in a length of 3/8″ Braided Linen Trim…and took my picture!

I picked up the sentiment and….took a second picture – this really helps put the collage “back” once you’ve gotten it to the “yep! This is it” stage!

I adhered the trees and the stamped and die-cut leaves with Liquid Glue.  Then I laid down the braided linen trim.  I used Dimensionals to pop up the big red flower.  The last leaf is adhered with Liquid Glue – as is the Vellum frame and sentiment.

I tucked the Old Olive palm trees and a few Tropical Oasis Trinkets in amongst the florals with Glue Dots, added some Old Olive Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the leaves in Old Olive on Very Vanilla and colored them with the Old Olive Blends.  I stamped a second sentiment on Very Vanilla in Real Red, cut it with its die from the Ornate Frames die set and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added another Noble Peacock Rhinestone.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red panel and into my Soft Suede card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Timeless Tropical leaves on the front…

…and more of the Tropical Oasis DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Timeless Tropical – and the entire Tropical Oasis Suite is for sure one of my favorites in the 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog.  And I love the framed sentiments in the Perfectly Framed stamp set – which coordinates with the carrying over Ornate Frames Die Set (remember it from the holiday catalog??)

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Early Release Suite Now Available!

Happy Happy HAWWWMP Day!  And – Happy “Go-Live” Day to the new Ornate Garden Suite!!  Whoo-hoo!

I’ve been showing you lots of samples of this cool new suite – you know it’s an Early Release from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, right?  And it’s awesome!

I’ve got another card for you today, using the Ornate Style and Ornate Thanks stamp sets, a little of the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP and the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

This fun layout is inspired by this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

And the color palette is from the Fab Friday color challenge.

I started with a panel of Whisper White.  I ran just the right side – about 1 1/2″ – thru the die cutting machine in the new Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.

Then I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a triangle of the gold-foil embossed Ornate Garden Specialty DSP – it’s about 1 1/2″ across at the top and 5 1/8″ long – cut on a diagonal to create a point.

I used my Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend Combo Packs and the Light Pumpkin Pie Blend to color the flowers.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

Then I matted the panel on Mango Melody.

Using Glue Dots on the back of the card front, I adhered two lengths of Terracotta Tile ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped one sentiment from Ornate Thanks in Terracotta Tile and a second sentiment in Pumpkin Pie.  Then I cut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a small Gilded Gem and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a third sentiment from Ornate Thanks in Pumpkin Pie on a Whisper White panel.  In each corner, I added a flourish in Terracotta Tile.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Terracotta Tile flourishes on the front…

…and more Blends-colored Ornate Garden Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  SO many ways to put all the pieces, parts, images and sentiments together in this spectacular new Ornate Garden Suite!  From the Ornate Thanks and Ornate Style stamp sets, to the bundled Ornate Layers and Ornate Borders dies…and the gorgeous Ornate Garden Specialty DSP is stunning!  I hope you like and – are rushing to get yours ordered right now!

Here’s a quick video about this cool new Suite! 🙂03.03.20_TH_VIDEOSCREEN1_ORNATE_GARDEN_NA

You can go to my Online Store to order it yourself or…for a few more days, you can take advantage of my Ornate Garden Special Bundle!

That locale was carefully selected by ZEWS 1 – it offers 180 degrees of overwatch of both the house and the barn.  The road behind him – an obvious ingress point for zombies – he covers with his cat-like hear-stuff-sneaking-up-behind-him senses.

He remains ever-vigilant.

His request for a ghillie-suit was obviously denied and he sort of sticks out.  But…stealth is not his weapon of choice.

Vocalizing the threat is his forte.

And a deep suspicion – which is good for a ZEWS Sentry.  Cuz Zombies are…everywhere.  And well disguised.

Maybe…

Definite possibility.

Is there any doubt??

Vigilance is key.  ZEWS 1 must remain alert at all times.  It’s in the code.

Wargaming is important, though.  Critical to think thru the steps if the hoard should lumber over the hill.  You KNOW they’d come from the back.

Zombies are pretty smart.

Not everyone knows that.

Wargaming COULD be misconstrued for napping on duty.

It’s not.

Napping.

He’s deep in strategery-izing….
