Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Framed Tropical Oasis For the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a nice color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

The color challenge headed me straight at the Tropical Oasis DSP.  And, of course, the wonderful Timeless Tropical Bundle – and…the Perfectly Framed stamp set (I thought the sentiment was pretty spot-on right now!).  Take a look-see:

So – our color scheme…

And, I pulled the layout from this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

I started with some paper from the Tropical Oasis DSP – I embossed it in the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and then matted it on Real Red to make the card front.  From an Old Olive design, I cut a banner with the Triple Banner Punch, embossed it in the Coastal Weave folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used my Stamparatus and the Marker-to-Rubber inking technique to stamp the tops of the Timeless Tropical palm trees in Old Olive on Very Vanilla.  I cut the image with the matching die in the In The Tropics die set.

I stamped the large flower from the Timeless Tropical set in Real Red.  Then I colored it with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack – and the Blends Color Lifter.   I stamped three leaves in Old Olive and colored them with the Old Olive Stampin’ Blend Combo Pack.  Then I cut all of the pieces out with the matching dies in the In The Tropics set.

I spritzed a piece of Old Olive with water using my Stampin’ Spritzer and cut two palm leaves.

I stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Framed in Real Red on a piece of Very Vanilla and cut it with a die in the Ornate Frames die set.  I also cut a larger – more ORNATE (see what I did there!) frame from a piece of Vellum Card Stock.

I laid out my collage – adding in a length of 3/8″ Braided Linen Trim…and took my picture!

I picked up the sentiment and….took a second picture – this really helps put the collage “back” once you’ve gotten it to the “yep! This is it” stage!

I adhered the trees and the stamped and die-cut leaves with Liquid Glue.  Then I laid down the braided linen trim.  I used Dimensionals to pop up the big red flower.  The last leaf is adhered with Liquid Glue – as is the Vellum frame and sentiment.

I tucked the Old Olive palm trees and a few Tropical Oasis Trinkets in amongst the florals with Glue Dots, added some Old Olive Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the leaves in Old Olive on Very Vanilla and colored them with the Old Olive Blends.  I stamped a second sentiment on Very Vanilla in Real Red, cut it with its die from the Ornate Frames die set and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added another Noble Peacock Rhinestone.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red panel and into my Soft Suede card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Timeless Tropical leaves on the front…

…and more of the Tropical Oasis DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Timeless Tropical – and the entire Tropical Oasis Suite is for sure one of my favorites in the 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog.  And I love the framed sentiments in the Perfectly Framed stamp set – which coordinates with the carrying over Ornate Frames Die Set (remember it from the holiday catalog??)
