My card today will go to a friend and her husband who are going thru a rough patch – and I couldn’t think of anything better than Heartfelt Blooms and the Here For You stamp sets! Plus some textures from the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF. Take a look-see:

Happy happy HAAWWWWMMMP Day!! The week is peaking and on the downhill slide!
And – this weekend looks to be fun – we’ve got an Amy’s Inkin’ Krew “in person’ meeting – I love these and look forward to it each quarter! And – this time…Finn has shown some interest in accompanying me! So – he’ll get to meet part of the Inkin’ Krew and they’ll get to meet him!
He’s not going to be making any cards, though. No thumbs – hello?!!
So – a few days ago I saw a really cool card on Pinterest that used the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF – which I love. It was from Monica Gale – and you can see her beautiful original right here!
I decided to CASE it for a little friendship card – and I added a nice sentiment from the Here For You stamp set. Take a look-see:
The colors for this card come from this week’s MFT Color Challenge.
I started with a panel of Shimmery White card stock that I embossed in the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF. I colored the leaves with my Dark and Light Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends. Hint – when you do this, go easy with the Blends – and use the fine point end (not the brush end). And, stay towards the middle of the embossed portions – trust me. 🙂
I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pacific Point mat.
I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and stamped the simple little sentiment from the Here For You stamp set in Pacific Point near the bottom of the front of my Whisper White card base. Yes – it was right smack on the card base – I held my breath the whole time!
Then I wrapped a piece of Calypso Coral 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon around the card front – securing it with a Glue Dot on the front (under where I’d planned to place my bow).
I popped the embossed and colored Layered Leaves panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a few Glitter Enamel Dots.
With a short length of the Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon, I tied a faux bow near the Glue Dot I’d used to secure the ribbon wrapped around the panel. Then I made a Billie Moan bow from Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and adhered it with another Glue Dot.
On the inside, I called on my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig again to stamp the second sentiment from Here For You in Pacific Point ink on a Shimmery White panel. Then I used some Liquid Glue to adhere a Pool Party leaf cut from the Patterned Pumpkin Thinlits.
I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pacific Point mat and then into the card base and the card was done.
On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added another Pool Party Patterned Pumpkin die cut leaf.
…and I embossed the envelope flap in the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.
Et Voila! I think I did justice to the original card – and I hope the recipient of this one will get a smile from it. I love how the beautiful embossing looks colored with the new Stampin’ Blends, don’t you? Hope you like!

Finn spent the day outside.
He coulda come in.
Didn’t want to.
Pretty day.
Chipmunks to stare down.
Birds to watch.
Dad to “help”.
Didn’t even eat his breakfast until dinner time!
Bowl empty. Still hungry, mom!
Once he was finished, he strolled into the living room to see if he could mooch anything from me or his Dad.
And he made his way up onto the sofa. Real casual, like.
So we took a selfie.
“We” is used loosely here. 😉

Mornin’, y’all! Hope your weekend is dawning bright and clear and with something fun planned!
So this card for today is destined for our friends who…had a bad thing happen to them. The kind of thing you see on the news.
Not the kind of thing that happens to actual people that you actually know.
On Tuesday evening, a pretty big storm was on its way to us here in Atlanta, but it veered around us, leaving us with no more than some big (BIG) straight-line winds. Our friends have a hunting camp that they’ve been going to for 25 years or so. The storm veered straight to it and a ginormous lightning strike hit their trailer and burned it to the ground. Along with two boats, four jet-skis and all the things they’ve been collecting there all these years.
These aren’t rich folks. They’re just people like we are. Who gathered things up and treasured the memories they’ve made there.
Oh, and they’d planned to go to the camp the next night. If they had and the storm had been a night later…
So. I decided I should make them a card. Since…I’m a card maker! I used the little sentiment stamp set called Here For You and added some images from In The Meadow. Take a look-see:
I played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge…
As soon as I got this clean and simple card done, my brain started telling me all the things I could have done different/better/more elaborately. But I think this fits our friends perfectly.
Next time!
I started with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, matted on another Crumb Cake panel, and stamped the mountain image from In The Meadow twice in Crumb Cake ink. I added a Lace Doily – Very Vanilla side up (I know, it looks white in the picture) – with some Liquid Glue.
I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position and stamp a sentiment from the Here For You set in Early Espresso at the bottom of the panel.
My art panel is a piece of Crumb Cake, torn to size, and stamped with the sweet deer image from In The Meadow, in Crumb Cake ink. I used some Liquid Glue to adhere it to a torn Always Artichoke mat. Finally, I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around it, securing the thread in the back with scotch tape. I popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a tiny Linen Thread bow with a dab of Liquid Glue.
I added a few Always Artichoke Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added another Crumb Cake mountain from In The Meadow to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock – this time I stamped it off once first. Over the top, I added a second sentiment from Here For You in Early Espresso. I inked the stamp and then covered the “I” at the beginning with a piece of Sticky Note – the card will be from Wayne and I, not just me!
I SNAILd the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and into my Always Artichoke card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Crumb Cake Medium Envelope got a Crumb Cake image from In The Meadow on the front…
…and again on the envelope flap. And I also added a third sentiment (“Well, this just stinks.”) from Here For You in Early Espresso.
Et Voila! I hate that this happened to them, but I hope this little card – simple as it is – will let them know that we’re thinking about them. I love the In The Meadow set and the little sentiments in Here For You are great. They’re the kinds of things people actually say – and I like that! Hope you like! 🙂

FINN-FAN FIX….
Finn had become a bit of a lap-hug-hog.
He’s always on the lookout for any cats who think they might like to get in my lap and he does what he can to preclude that from happening.
Sometimes it means he has to do a half-lap-hug. Back half on the floor, front half – the one with the giant wet likker – on the lap.
And bring his toy-of-the-moment with him.
A guy has to do what a guy has to do to keep those pesky cats in line.
The struggle is real. 😉

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all! It’s Wednesday and I’m headed to Huntsville for a couple of nights. Wayne and Mr. Finn will be staying at home. 🙁
Speaking of Mr. Finn – I have a question for you guys. In my family, someone was always being described as being busy as a cranberry merchant. Why is that a thing? Does anyone know why a cranberry merchant is busy? I don’t actually know any cranberry merchants – and we surely didn’t have any in our family, so…. ?
Regardless. I feel confident in saying that Finn is almost always busy as a cranberry merchant.
And, since I don’t know any human cranberry merchants, I’m willing to go out on a limb and say my cranberry merchant is the cutest of all….
And, lucky for y’all, Finn is also a generous little soul. While we were having our little meeting, he persuaded me to offer a surprise ordering special….so be sure to read on down, okay?
Now, my card for today also features some cuteness. Owl cuteness, to be exact. The little owl from the Host Exclusive set called Cozy Critters (Holiday Catalog) gets together with some Moroccan Designer Washi Tape and a couple of sentiments from the fun stamp set called Here For You. Take a look-see:
This one is also super quick and easy – gotta love Washi Tape! I started this one with a Very Vanilla panel and ran strips of the Moroccan Designer Washi Tape on a diagonal, just wrapping it around the edge to secure it.
Then I made my little Cozy Critter owls. I stamped them in Early Espresso and punched them out with the Owl Builder Punch. I colored each of their scarves – one each in Cajun Craze, Emerald Envy and Delightful Dijon.
I laid the owls out on the card to figure out where to put my sentiment, and then used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to align and stamp the sentiment from Here For You in Dapper Denim. Then I SNAILd the panel to a Dapper Denim mat (I did use Liquid Glue for the parts with the Washi Tape on it – it doesn’t particularly like the SNAIL).
All that remained was to adhere the Cozy Critter owls with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. And that was it for the card front – told ya it was easy!
On the inside, I stamped the Cozy Critter owl again in Early Espresso – this time stamping it off twice before stamping my Very Vanilla panel. Over that, I added a second Here For You sentiment in Dapper Denim, again using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. Then I added two strips of the Cajun Craze Moroccan Designer Washi Tape.
I SNAILd the panel to its Dapper Denim mat and then into my Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a strip of Moroccan Washi Tape and an Early Espresso Cozy Critter owl (with an Emerald Envy scarf!) on the front…
…and then I covered the envelope flap with more Moroccan Washi Tape – trimming the excess with my Paper Snips.
Et Voila! I love the Moroccan Washi Tape – the colors are so rich and vibrant – and I love how fast it adds a ton of color and interest. And this little owl….too stinkin’ cute! And the sentiments in the Here For You stamp set are great – they can cover a whole gamut of card needs. Hope you like!
