Stampin’ Up! Make a Moroccan Medallion for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

15822762_10211923272945503_223384966683691578_n

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a fun – sort of geometric focused – sketch this week.  I hope that you’ll spend a little time browsing all our projects and then gathering your goodies to play along! 🙂

Here’s the sketch:

16473027_10212252230409234_8203946034113262811_n

I might have been the tiniest bit liberal with the sketch – but…I used the Make a Medallion set from Sale-A-Bration and paired it with some Moroccan DSP.  Add in a few Delightful Dijon frames and this is what you get!  Take a look-see:

make-a-moroccan-medallion-4-stamps-n-lingers

This is a quick one – it took me longer to dither and fret about the layout and design than it did to make it!

I started by double-matting a piece of the Moroccan DSP on Delightful Dijon and Early Espresso.  Then I pulled out my Squares and Circles Layering Framelits die sets and got busy making my frames.

make-a-moroccan-medallion-2-stamps-n-lingers

I cut two square frames and one circle from Delightful Dijon – using the scallop dies for the outer frame.  You can actually put the two dies together and cut the frame out with one swoop – just take your time and either use a Magnetic Platform or a sticky note to hold the dies in place.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the frames to the card front.

For my art, I used the Make a Medallion stamp set to create the pretty centerpiece.  First I stamped the Emerald Envy image.  Next, I used the second image and stamped it in Early Espresso – it’s photopolymer, so it’s pretty easy to get it straight – just take your time and get it lined up!

make-a-moroccan-medallion-sneak-peek-pic-stamps-n-lingers

I also added a Make a Medallion sentiment in Delightful Dijon, then I cut the medallion with a Circles Layering Framelits die.  I matted it on Delightful Dijon and a scalloped Early Espresso mat and popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three Emerald Envy Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!

make-a-moroccan-medallion-1-stamps-n-lingers

On the inside, I used the two small images in Make a Medallion to decorate the corners of a Very Vanilla (yes, it’s Very Vanilla – even if looks like it’s Whisper White!) panel.  The larger image is in Emerald Envy and the little eesny-weensy-if-you-drop-it-on-the-floor-it’s-gone image is in Early Espresso.

make-a-moroccan-medallion-5-stamps-n-lingers

I matted the panel on Delightful Dijon and Early Espresso, then into my Emerald Envy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added a couple more little images in the corners…

make-a-moroccan-medallion-6-stamps-n-lingers

…and gave the envelope flap some more of the Moroccan DSP.

make-a-moroccan-medallion-7-stamps-n-lingers

Et Voila!  I’m really growing to love this little Make a Medallion stamp set – the medallion image is very on-trend right now – I see them everywhere!  And this stamp set lets you unleash your imagination with the design element.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! So In Love with Detailed Thinlits

Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!!  We’re on the backside of the big freeze – supposed to be 70 on Friday!  I’ll take it – it was so nice to have liquid water in the horse buckets and troughs this morning!  We Deatherage’s don’t care for cold overmuch!

I spent some time today cutting Designer Paper to put my catalog shares together!  And – I had a helper!!

finn-helping-with-shares
I know it looks a lot like he’s sleeping, but…helping is in the eye of the beholder!  Not saying he was in the way, or anything….maybe just a paw here or there.

He did a bit of “helping” the previous night, too – I’ll show you that in just a second…

My card for today uses the new So Detailed Thinlits and the So In Love stamp set.  With a bit of Succulent Garden DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here in a Mediterranean Moment

Well, good morning!  I’m typing this on Friday evening, as we sit in eager (?) anticipation of the arrival of Winter Storm Helena to the south.  My entire office was closed today in Huntsville as were all of the schools.  Here in GA, they sent everyone home early.  No doubt to swing by the grocery store to get the obligatory 25 loaves of bread and 37 gallons of milk!

We refrained from a grocery run, but did have to go buy a few bags of feed for the Old Man.  So…we took Finn-Chewie with us.  I kind of didn’t want to, cuz the last time we went he resembled a bass at the end of the leash.  Completely whack.  So I almost took the easy way out and left him here.  But, as Wayne pointed out, he’ll never figure it out if we never take him.

Dang – I hate when he’s all logical and right like that!!

Well.  Apparently the work Finny and I have been doing in the mornings – on the leash, with training treats and the clicker – are paying off!!  He was very very good!  Perfect?  Oh, no – not even.  But…under control.  Looked like a dog not a fish!  Even did some stay-come-heel work.  It wasn’t easy for him – lots of people he was sure wanted to pet him….but.  He kept it together! I was very very proud.

He was a little surprised that I had so little faith…

finn-looking-sideways
When I got home, I whipped up a little card to share, using the pretty new stamp set called Mediterranean Moments.  This one was created by Susan Nygaard – when she hit a Million Dollars in Sales!  When I hit a million – my stamp set’s going to have a Haflinger and an Aussie – and not cartoon ones, either!  Pretty ones – like in this set!

I used a nice little sentiment from the Sitting Here stamp set, and put it all together with some of the Falling in Love DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Hello You Petals & Paisleys

Hey, y’all – it’s Monday again.  I do not know where the weekend goes, do you?

Well.  I know where some of mine went.  Where “some” = 98%!  Entertaining the goofy dog!  He’s begun, in the way of children everywhere, to test the limits.  He’s got a game that I believe he calls “what can I try today?”  On Sunday, he added this to his repertoire….

finn-in-the-chair
We were sitting in the kitchen on Sunday morning and Wayne got out of the chair.  Mr. Finn immediately got into it.  And proceeded to look too cute to scold.  God’s way of letting puppies get their way, I suppose!

Also this weekend, in addition to the playdate, I did a little turtling of my own…

me-and-finn
Yes – best picture of me ever!  I wasn’t dressed or prepared for a photo shoot!  We sat this way for almost 30 minutes.  The trick is the belly pat-rub.  Cradle the puppy and pat-rub his belly.  He’ll fall into a deep trance – during which you can kiss his nose or tickle his toes as many times as you want!

You’re welcome.

So, in the 2% of the time this weekend that I wasn’t pandering to the puppy, I made a few cards.  This one is a simple and quick little any-day occasion card, using the Hello You, Flourish and Paisleys Thinlit sets.  And some Petals & Paisleys DSP.  Take a look-see:

hello-you-petals-paisleys-4-stamps-n-lingers
The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch in the Fusion Soft and Subtle challenge:

fusion-challenge
And my palette came from the Color Throwdown #415:

ctd-415-sketch
I used Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and Mint Macaron as my colors.

The first step in the card was to cut the Petals & Paisleys DSP panel and then cut the edge die from the Flourish Thinlits near the bottom.  I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the cut panel to a Cajun Craze mat – returning the die cut to the negative space.  Liquid Glue gives you a little “wiggle” room to be sure all the spacing is correct!

Next I built the sentiment.  Using the die from the Hello You Thinlits, I cut three from Cajun Craze and one from Copper Foil.  I stacked them up, adhered them all together with Liquid Glue and then to the card front.

hello-you-petals-paisleys-2-stamps-n-lingers
My little embellishment in the corner began with a little bit of Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon that I doubled over and adhered with a Glue Dot.  Next came a Copper Foil die cut from the Paisley Thinlits, adhered with Liquid Glue.  I added a Classy Designer Button with another Glue Dot and finally a bow tied with Linen Thread and a couple of lengths of Copper Metallic Thread.

hello-you-petals-paisleys-8-stamps-n-lingers
And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I sort of repeated my treatment from the card front.  This time I cut the Flourish edge die from my Very Vanilla panel.  I also cut another one from the same design of the Petals & Paisleys DSP I’d used on the front.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Very Vanilla panel to a Cajun Craze mat – adding the DSP die cut in the negative space.

hello-you-petals-paisleys-5-stamps-n-lingers
I SNAILd the panel into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I stamped some little images from the Paisleys and Posies stamp set, in Mint Macaron…

hello-you-petals-paisleys-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and then added more of the Petals & Paisleys DSP on the envelope flap.

hello-you-petals-paisleys-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  I love the Copper with this particular design in the Petals & Paisleys DSP – and this paper reinforces the idea that Mint Macaron can look great with Cajun Craze.  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Endlessly Foxy Peaceful Pines

Mornin’, everybody!  Hope your week is going well, and that you’ve taken advantage of the 25% off savings for the World Card Making Day special from Stampin’ Up!

I did another quick and easy card for today.  I’ll admit that I haven’t been feeling too awfully good these past 3 or 4 days.  Apparently, the “oh, sinus infections are typically not contagious” sinus infection that Wayne came home with is…a least a little bit…contagious!  I personally think it’s a head-cold-gone-bad, but…he’s insisting that I go to the doctor.  So when you read this, I’ll be on my way to let them tell me I have a head cold.

Maybe they won’t tell me to not be such a baby! That would be pretty sucky bedside manner, huh? 😉

So, when my teeth finally quit hurting and I was able to rouse from my fugue state in the recliner on Monday, I’d already been designing a card in my head while I “watched tv”.  It had some Perfect Pines and a fun little Foxy Friends dude in it.  And that’s actually how it ended up, too!  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Banners Outdoor Adventure Cruise – and Blog Candy!

Good morning and happy World Card Making Day!  This is kind of “our” day, huh?  All over the world, crafters are crafting and makers are making.  And carding!  I hope you’ve got something fun planned – even if it’s just some time in your craft room making something pretty! 🙂

To help celebrate WCMD, I’m giving away some blog candy to help you make great cards!  Read on down to see how to enter!  You’ll also see some Stampin’ Up! celebrations starting today – plenty of details down below!

Today is also the start of the Stampin’ Up! year – 1 Oct 16 to 30 Sept 17.  In every year, demonstrators can earn an Incentive Trip.  The trip in 2017 is to Phuket, Thailand.  I’m too late to earn that one.  But!  The Incentive Trip in 2018 is a Cruise to Alaska!

I want to go on a Cruise.

I want to go to Alaska.

A cruise – to Alaska?  Yep.  Perfect!  So….my goal for 2017 is to earn that cruise!!  Everyone keep your fingers crossed that I can do the work and earn my way to a fun-filled Alaskan Cruise, okay?? 🙂

So – I made a card today that evokes that Alaskan Cruise.  I used some Outdoor Adventure die cuts, a touch of Swirly Scribbles, a bit of Serene Scenery DSP and a fun little sentiment from Thoughtful Banners.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Cozy Critters Labeler Winter!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Love how quick that comes in a 4-day week, don’t you?

Just a reminder – we call this a Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) where I come from!  Today is the last day for Double Peppermint Rewards Points!  A lot of folks have taken advantage of this special – don’t you miss out, okay? 🙂

I spent this morning toting my kitchen-full of stuff that needed to be re-homed to the Goodwill!  Ah – feels good to get some of it gone, I have to say!  More to go, for sure, but…it’s a start, heh?

And my catalog share goodies arrived, so….there’s lots of cutting and snipping and wrapping in my near future!

One of the fun things that I got along with my shares – Stampin’ Rewards are a beautiful thing, aren’t they?! – is a little stamp set that caught my eye as soon as I opened the catalog.

Yea – it’s on the first page!

It’s the Cozy Critter host-exclusive stamp set – and I just love this little Owl!  I bought the Owl Builder Punch just as soon as I saw it – and grabbed the stamp set as soon as I could!  So that’s what I used today, along with my Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek – Basket of Wishes and Cookie Cutter Halloween!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Wednesday, signaling that we’re cresting the hill and getting ready to slide on into another weekend!  And – in the case of this Wednesday….is one week and a day from the kick-off of the 2016 Holiday Catalog ordering season.  I’m thinking about putting my Christmas tree up, just in solidarity!

Just kidding.  That would be crazy.

Right?

I do have a totally unrelated question?  Does anyone know how many times a week Bachelor in Paradise is on?  Appears to me to be on every night.  And…how many Bachelor spin-offs are there these days?  Bachelors of the Serengeti?  Bachelor on the Orient Express?  Bachelor VS Predator?  Bachelor – The Bores Awaken?

Thank goodness for Big Bang Theory – no matter how many times I watch it – it’s just flat funny! 🙂 Perfect background noise for blog typing!

My card for today showcases another couple of stamp sets coming to you soon in the Holiday Catalog.  Cookie Cutter Halloween and Basket of Wishes.  As I’ve mentioned before – both Cookie Cutter Halloween and Cookie Cutter Christmas use the fun Cookie Cutter Builder punch – which you’ll be able to purchase as a bundle with Cookie Cutter Christmas! 🙂

Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle - Stamps-N-Lingers Basket of Wishes - Stamps-N-Lingers

I combined these with some Petals & Paisleys DSP and this is what I got.  Take a look-see:

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
My layout came from the design sketch challenge #62 at Stamp Ink Paper.

SIP #62
I did a little something different with this card – I started with my Delightful Dijon card base and ran the front of it thru the Big Shot in the Petal Burst TIEF.  It’s a pretty enough folder that the de-bossed side – visible when you open the card – looks just as good as the front!  I wrapped a piece of the new-in-the-Annual-Catalog Mint Macaron 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon around the card – securing it in the front with a couple of Glue Dots.  That way the inside of the card still looks pretty when you open it! 🙂

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd a piece of the Petals & Paisleys DSP to a Mint Macaron mat and SNAILd it directly to the card front.  Then I went ahead and made my sentiment, stamping the words in Cajun Craze ink using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  I snipped the word out and adhered them to the card front with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

I cut a circle of Very Vanilla and a mat of Mint Macaron with two dies from the Circles Layering Framelits.  I used my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker to add some faux stitches, then I SNAILd them together and popped them on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Using Crumb Cake ink, I stamped the basket and veggies images from Basket of Wishes on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I used Blender Pens to color the image – using Crumb Cake for the basket, and Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi for the vegetables.  Then I fussy cut the whole thing.  I did cut the leaves but I did not cut the little curly-do’s.  I mean, I’m good, but come on! 🙂  Using my stylus, I rounded the basket a little and set it aside.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
The little scarecrow dude from Cookie Cutter Halloween is also stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla.  He’s colored with Blender Pens and Mint Macaron, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  I punched him out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and then adhered him to the card with some Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional under his head.  Then I popped the basket over the top of him with Dimensionals.  And I added a couple of curly-do’s with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker.  And that was it for the front of the card.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I added another little scarecrow – using the exact same coloring technique as the dude on the front – to the corner of a Very Vanilla Panel.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd it to a Mint Macaron mat and then into my Delightful Dijon card base, and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got one more Cookie Cutter Halloween scarecrow on the front…

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and a custom envelope flap cover from another little bit of Petals & Paisleys DSP.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  Yet another group of tempting goodies arriving soon in the Holiday Catalog!  Hope you like!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the goodies you need to make this for yourself!

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Penned & Painted Jar of Love

It’s FRIIIIIDDDAAAAAAY.  Which means just gotta get thru this one last day and wake up and go home tomorrow!

Right after I schlep all my stuff into my car in the morning.  Bleh! 🙁  But….HOME!!! 🙂

I’m pretty sure when I get there, and “accidentally” call Duck Duck, she’ll come flying waddling home just as fast as her little orange web-footed legs will carry her!

Or not.

Guess we’ll see, huh?

I have a card to share today that’s a sort-of-CASE from a project I saw on Pinterest, from Anja at Ophelia Crafts!  I did put a little of my own spin on it, but I sure did glean some good ideas from her project!  Check it here if you get a shot!  I used the pretty Penned and Painted stamp set to work with the Jar of Love and Everyday Jars bundle.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Pop of Paradise Hello!

Good morning and welcome to Tuesday! 🙂  I’ve got an icy cold fruit drink for you today.  I know it’s gonna slide down cool and easy.

Well.  It’s a card.  That looks like a drink.  So…it would probably be good to not try to drink or eat it.  Cuz…well, you know….paper!

I was playing with a really tropical palette of colors and it sort of made me lean to the Pop of Paradise stamp set.  So that’s what I used to make a card that you could use for almost any occasion – or just because it’s Tuesday!  Take a look-see:
