Stampin’ Up! Timeless Penned & Painted Jar of Love

It’s FRIIIIIDDDAAAAAAY.  Which means just gotta get thru this one last day and wake up and go home tomorrow!

Right after I schlep all my stuff into my car in the morning.  Bleh! 🙁  But….HOME!!! 🙂

I’m pretty sure when I get there, and “accidentally” call Duck Duck, she’ll come flying waddling home just as fast as her little orange web-footed legs will carry her!

Or not.

Guess we’ll see, huh?

I have a card to share today that’s a sort-of-CASE from a project I saw on Pinterest, from Anja at Ophelia Crafts!  I did put a little of my own spin on it, but I sure did glean some good ideas from her project!  Check it here if you get a shot!  I used the pretty Penned and Painted stamp set to work with the Jar of Love and Everyday Jars bundle.  Take a look-see:

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
So – I started with a plain piece of Whisper White card stock and began to add some texture and vintage-i-fying with my Timeless Textures stamp set.  To begin, I used the edge image stamp and added Basic Gray Archival Ink around the edges of the panel – emphasizing the corners.  Then I pulled out the filigree image and added it here and there – sometimes stamping twice without re-inking – in Flirty Flamingo.  Finally, I added a couple three swirly-do’s in Basic Gray and SNAILd the panel to a Pacific Point card stock mat.

For my jar, I stamped the tallest jar image from Jar of Love in Basic Gray Archival Ink on Whisper White and cut it with the matching framelit in Everyday Jars.

I laid my cut-out jar on the card front panel where I intended it to end up, and – using Emerald Envy ink – I stamped the stem image from Penned & Painted.  I stamped several of the stems down into the water – just aiming them up to be generally where my flowers were going to go.  I knew I was going to cover it all up pretty good, so I didn’t get too het up about it. 🙂

Then I set my jar aside and started on the flowers.  Using the two outline images from Penned & Painted, I stamped them above where my jar would go, in Basic Gray Archival Ink.  Then I used Sweet Sugarplum to stamp the color-them-in images (this is a three-step stamp set).  For the larger fill-in, I stamped off once before stamping the card.  For the centers (step 3), I stamped the images full-strength.  That’s a great way to get “multiple” colors from one ink pad!

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Then I stamped some more flowers – same exact methodology – in Flirty Flamingo on some scrap Whisper White.  And I made a few leaves, too, in Emerald Envy – and cut all them out.

On my little jar – I got the idea to add the fish from Jar of Love.  I mean – why not? 😉

So – I made a sort of rough mask of the stems all piled together on a sticky note, laid it over the stems on my jar, and stamped the fish in Pacific Point ink.  Obviously, he needed some water, so I added some to the jar by sponging in Pool Party ink – then I lightly sketched in a “waterline” with my Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker.

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I started building the card front by adhering the jar (with my fish swimming around in it) to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I oh-so-artfully popped the Flirty Flamingo flowers and the Emerald Envy leaves above it (effectively hiding the lack of above-water-stems!) using a combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  I also decided to color in the centers of my flowers, with my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker.

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I completed my little vignette by stamping the bow from Jar of Love in Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White and cutting it out with the matching die from Everyday Jars.  I used a little bit of Liquid Glue, slid it up under a flower and stuck it to the jar.

My sentiment, also from Jar of Love, is stamped on Whisper White in Pacific Point.  I added the banner outline (from Thoughtful Banners) in Basic Gray Archival ink and then fussy cut the image.  Using the Duet Banner Punch, I punched a mat from Pacific Point and used a little Liquid Glue to adhere them together.  I added it to the card front with Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I repeated my Timeless Textures treatment – in Basic Gray Archival Ink and Flirty Flamingo – just like I’d done on the card front – to another piece of Whisper White card stock.

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Then I SNAILd it to a Pacific Point mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base.  I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For the Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added a Flirty Flamingo filigree and a Basic Gray swirly-do to the front…

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and again to the back.

Penned and Painted Jar of Love 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  A little clean – a little vintage-y – a lot of fun, I think.  I love the little fish hanging out with the pretty flowers.  Hope you do, too! 🙂
