Stampin’ Up! CAS Softly Sketched Fresh as a Daisy Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning on half-way-thru-the-weekend day!  AKA – Sunday!  Hope that you’ve had some fun this weekend!

I’ve got a super simple and easy card for you today!  It features the Softly Sketched stamp set – which is one you might have missed on your browsings thru the catalog!  I paired it with something I know you have NOT missed – the Fresh as a Daisy DSP!  Take a look-see:

This layout – which just so happens to be one of my favorites! – was inspired by the Global Design Project sketch challenge this week!

I started with two pieces of Fresh as a Daisy DSP (on SALE right now for 15% off!).  They each started at about 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then I tore all four edges to make a final size of 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.  Tip: tear TOWARD you to get that nice white edge! 🙂

I adhered the Pebbled Path panel to the card front on an angle using Liquid Glue.

Using the largest circle die in Stylish Shapes, I cut a hole in the Moody Mauve panel.

On a piece of Basic White, I used a Blending Brush to add some Bubble Bath ink like a pinkish “glow” in the middle of the panel.

Over the top, I stamped the floral image from Softly Sketched in Pebbled Path ink.

Using Liquid Glue I adhered the panel to the back of the Moody Mauve Fresh as a Daisy panel – centering the image in the die cut hole.  Then I used Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card front on an angle.

I stamped the Softly Sketched sentiment in Pebbled Path on a piece of Basic White and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes label die.

I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a few Pebbled Path 2023-2025 In Color Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I adhered a Pebbled Path piece of Fresh as a Daisy DSP to the inside of the card using Liquid Glue.  On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a second sentiment from Softly Sketched in Pebbled Path ink.  In the corner, I used the Blending Brush to add Bubble Bath ink and stamped the Softly Sketched floral over the top!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the blended Bubble Bath and stamped Softly Sketched floral on the front…

… and more of the Fresh as a Daisy DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  There are three pretty images in the Softly Sketched set – and several front/inside sentiment combos for you!

I think the simplicity of the card is really nice – with the beautiful Fresh as a Daisy DSP adding just a little bump of color! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

With yesterday being his Birthday – I figured he needed a cake.

Being that he never EVER gets any treats… 😂😂😂

So – I made him an ice cream cake.

Okay – it’s plain Greek yoghurt and applesauce and peanut butter all mixed up and frozen.  And – my taste test was…well.  It’s a LOT of plain yoghurt to a LITTLE applesauce and peanut butter so…draw your own conclusions! 😉

But – for an Aussie…it was worth risking brain-freeze!

And – trying to take a chunk into the living room…

Well – a movie says it best!

  1. Love your card and the video of Finn (his tongue must have gotten tired!). He had to have had a lovely birthday with his mom, dad, grandma’s package and all the other treats he got from friends. What a man!

    • stampsnlingers

He had a good day, for sure! And yes – he was on tongue-rest for the remainder of the day! :). Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  2. Such a pretty card! Love the colors and the layering is perfect. Looks like Finn enjoyed his “cake” and was carefully eating it to avoid a brain freeze. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – brain freeze is the WORST! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. Charlotte+Hutcheson

Absolutely adorable video…I wonder how long it took to lick that cake into shape.

    • stampsnlingers

It took him a while to conquer it – but he’s no quitter! :). Thanks, Charlotte! 🙂

  4. Lovely card Mary!
