Stampin’ Up! Let’s Go Shopping Front Flap Accordion Fun Fold Birthday with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Friday!  Hope the week has gone well for you and that you weren’t in the path of that horrendous weather these past couple of days!  Thanks to all who have inquired about us – we’re fine – the weather stayed south of us.  Just got some hard rain on Wednesday and some thunder.  Thank goodness!

My card today is a cool fun fold that I saw on Lynn Dunn’s blog – it’s a Front Flap Accordion card, and she showed two ways to do it.  Accordion-opening or accordion-fixed.  Mine is the “fixed” version – using the fun Let’s Go Shopping bundle and Les Shoppes DSP to make a birthday card.  Take a look-see:

And – being a fun fold – I’m playing along with the Creative Creases challenge again! 🙂

I started with a Basic Black mat that, using a Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored along the long side at 1 1/4″, 1 3/4″, 2 3/4″, 8 1/4″, 9 1/4″ and 9 3/4″.  I folded the 1 1/4″ and the 9 3/4″ score lines TOWARDS the middle of the card base – making those a “valley” fold.  Then I folded the remainder of the scored lines as follows:

To make this a “fixed” accordion – I folded the card and then placed Black Stampin’ Dimensionals on the inside of the outer panels (as shown above) and adhered them to the inside of the card base.

Next up, I matted two different designs of the Les Shoppes DSP on Balmy Blue and adhered them to the smaller panels with Liquid Glue.

In the center, I adhered a Balmy Blue mat in preparation for the small front flap card. 😊

For the center focal point, I adhered a piece of the Les Shoppes DSP to a piece of Basic White using Stampin’ Seal.  Then I used Paper Snips to fussy cut the shop.  The design I chose had foliage at the top of the roof – but I didn’t want to cut them out. 🤷‍♀️  So…I didn’t – I just cut straight across the roof line. 😎

I cut out a Petal Pink solid canopy and the matching stripes die cut from Basic White using the fun dies in the Let’s Go Shopping set.  I adhered the stripes die cut to the solid canopy with some Liquid Glue – then popped it in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the flower pot in Gray Granite and cut it out with its matching die.  Then I used the Light and Dark Gray Granite and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends to color the pot.  I adhered it by the door of the shop with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a Let’s Go Shopping sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a piece of Basic White and cut it with the label die from Let’s Go Shopping die set.  Then I popped it in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Across the roof line, I added two Shaded Spruce boughs that I cut with the cute dies in the Let’s Go Shopping dies, adhering them with Liquid Glue.  I added a bevy of Loose Daisy Embellishments using Liquid Glue, my Take Your Pick tool and… a heaping helping of patience! 😉 TOTALLY worth it, y’all!

With the shop decorated – I made my small front flap card.

I scored and folded a 1 3/4″ x 8″ piece of Basic White cardstock at 4″.  On the front, I adhered a Balmy Blue mat and a piece of the Gray Granite Les Shoppes DSP using Liquid Glue.

On the inside of the small card, I stamped a second sentiment from Let’s Go Shopping in Shaded Spruce.  I also stamped and colored the flower pot.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the small card to the front of the larger base card.

Then I adhered the decorated Les Shoppes sweets shop with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the stamped and colored flower pot on the front…

…and more Les Shoppes DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love how this card turned out – the fussy cut Les Shoppes DSP sweet shop – with it’s pretty flourish of Loose Daisy Embellishments – just really makes me happy.   As does the fun Front Flap Accordion fun fold!  And, I’ve barely even scratched the surface of the fun images, sentiments and die cuts in the coordinating Let’s Go Shopping Bundle!
