Stampin’ Up! Forever Poinsettia Petals with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a theme challenge from Laurie – her son is getting married in September.  Guess the theme?? 🙂  I know it’ll give your creative mojo a bump, so I hope you’ll come and play along with us!  🙂

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

My parents were married in December – and, if I was ever going to do a vow renewal or something along those lines – I’d pick Christmas-time to do it.  And there’d be poinsettias and pine boughs and lots and lots of twinkly Christmas lights.  So…I decided to go with a Christmas-Wedding-motif.  And used the splendiferous Poinsettia Petals bundle and gorgeous Poinsettia Place DSP, with a couple of appropriate sentiments from Forever Blossoms, to get ‘er done.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our Paper Players sketch challenge badge!  Come play!

Always looking for design inspiration, I picked the layout from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!

I started by die cutting a piece of Petal Pink card stock with the largest Stitched Rectangle Die.  Then I inked the stand-alone poinsettia flower image in the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Petal Pink and stamped it all over the panel.

Next, I used a smaller Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a piece of wood-grain design Poinsettia Place DSP and adhered it to the Petal Pink panel with Liquid Glue.

I stamped a sentiment from Forever Blossoms in Early Espresso on a strip of Petal Pink, snipped banner ends, and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

The flowers are all cut from Very Vanilla – using both the cutting and the embossing dies for each size “flower” from the Poinsettia Dies Set.   Using a very dry Sponge Dauber, I added Petal Pink to the center of each flower-ette (?), lightly curled them, and adhered them in a stack with Liquid Glue.

I also cut some Very Vanilla berry-boughs – also in the Poinsettia Dies.

Here’s a thing you might not know!  In the Plush Poinsettia Specialty DSP – there are holly leaves, berries and flowers that you can cut with dies in the Poinsettia Dies set!  Whaaaa?!?!?

So – I did that – cut two holly leaves and two berries.  I sponged the holly with Mossy Meadow and the berries with Petal Pink.

I built the collage starting with leaves and berries – adhering them with Liquid Glue.  I added a loop or two of Linen Thread and Gold Trim from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack with a Glue Dot.  Then I popped the large flower on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored a Beaded Pearls with my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and stuck it in the center of the flower.

I stacked a few more small flowers – also sponged with Petal Pink – and added them with Liquid Glue.  Their middles are Pearl Basic Jewels, colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.

To finish off – I added some Snowflake Sequins here and there with Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Forever Blossoms sentiment in Early Espresso to a Very Vanilla panel.  In the corners, I added the flower image from Poinsettia Petals in Petal Pink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Petal Pink Poinsettia on the front…

…and some Poinsettia Place DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  See?  Who WOULDN’T want a Poinsettia Place-themed wedding?!?  With the absolute gorgeousness of this suite, I can’t imagine anyone thinking this was NOT a good idea! Think of all the wunnermus decor!

I hope you like!  And – you know, this is just ONE of the bundles included in my Special Bundle #4 – The Pretty Pretty Bundle!

  • You’ll earn DOUBLE PEPPERMINTS on your Host Club Orders.  Each $50 order earns 4 reward points, a $75 order earns you 6 reward points, etc. You’ll earn at least 24 reward points during your membership, meaning you’ll automatically earn at least ONE $40 Peppermint rewards gift!  (Remember – when you gather up 16 Peppermints, you get to select a free reward gift valued up to $40!).  You can get more info about my Punkin’ Heads Customer Rewards Program right here.
  • You’ll receive a FREE monthly tutorial with 4-5 projects and access to all previous tutorials for the duration of the club. Right now, there are Forty-Three tutorials available only to Online Host Club members.  That’s way over TWO HUNDRED not-seen-on-our-blogs projects for you to use as inspiration (and they ALL have all the card cuts and instructions!)
  • FREE catalogs during your membership term
  • FREE shipping in your Host Months – on your Host Order when you close with me!

When you join the club – please plan to commit to the full six months – in two consecutive three-month increments.

Don’t delay – if there’s enough interest, I’ll run multiple clubs best I can to accommodate everyone, but…there WILL be a limit on how many folks I can get in!
