Stampin’ Up! Quilted Smitten Mittens Gift Box for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Well, it’s darned near Christmas and we’ve got a pretty classic color challenge for you and for the season!  Will everyone go Christmas or…?? Be sure to check out all the projects when you get done here – and see for yourself!

So, I don’t know about y’all – but my Christmas readiness level is about where it should be.

If it was September! 🙁

Which means that quick and easy is high on my list right now.  Thankfully, we’ve got our Mini Pizza Boxes and pretty Quilted Christmas DSP and the Smitten Mittens Bundle (but its retiring so grab it up!) to help.  Take a look-see!

These little beauties are just right for a piece of jewelry, or a gift card, or a cookie (they’re even food safe on the inside!).  So…basically…perfect for all your Christmas packaging.

So…buckle-up, buttercup…you’ll be done in a hot second.

I cut a piece of Gold Foil for a mat and a slightly smaller piece of Quilted Christmas DSP and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.  I made a little “present” by wrapping a couple lengths of Cherry Cobbler (yes, not Real Red.  My bad!) 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon around it – securing the ends in the back with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped two Cherry Cobbler mittens from the Smitten Mittens stamp set and cut them with their matching dies in the Many Mittens Framelits.  I stamped some ric-rac “trim” across the top in Cherry Cobbler and embossed both mittens with the fun little embossing die in the Framelits.

The snowflakes are cut from some more of the plaid Quilted Christmas DSP with the snowflake die in the Many Mittens set and adhered with Liquid Glue.

I stuck a large Gold Faceted Gem on each mitten and adhered the first on with Liquid Glue – sliding it under the ribbon.  On the second mitten, I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler, then popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

See that gold Mini Tinsel?  That’s a sneak peek from the new 2018 Occasions Catalog – it comes in the Love Mini Tinsel Trim Combo Pack, paired with a roll of Powder Pink Tinsel.  Pretty!

I tied a double-length bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot, popped the whole thing on the top of my Mini Pizza Box with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals and…done!  Ready to fill with whatever strikes your fancy!  There are so many possibilities with these Mini Pizza Boxes – and I love the little Smitten Mittens tags, don’t you?  Hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my project, please take a little time to visit all the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hoppers today!

Stampin’ Up! Quilted Christmas Thanks

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is going well – and that you’re getting all ready for Christmas!

Before we get going – two announcements…

First:  don’t forget about the 2018 Occasions Catalog Shares – they’re open now and starting to fill up.  Check them out and get signed up right here!

Second:  I’ve got new Online Host Clubs kicking off on 3 Jan (this date should seem familiar!) and I’ve got some openings!  You can scroll on down for all the details and then let me know that you want in!  Sale-A-Bration is a great time to Host a workshop – and an Online Host Club gives you a completely painless way to get the benefits without any of the work!  So…check it out!

Okay – here we go. I made a thank you card today – cuz Christmas and thank-you cards go hand-in-hand!  This one is easy – especially since I’ve given you all the card cuts! – and will let you use some of those Christmas DSP scraps hanging around here and there.  In this case, I used the Quilted Christmas DSP and a little Wood Textures DSP along with sentiments from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I played along with the sketch at TGIF Challenges – although I didn’t go square!

I started out by Fast Fuse-ing a piece of the Wood Textures DSP to a Garden Green mat.

Then I cut four strips of Quilted Christmas DSP and matted them on Garden Green, too!

Using my highly calibrated Mark-1 Eyeball, I used Liquid Glue to carefully adhere my strips to the Wood Textures panel, getting them as evenly spaced as I could.

I stamped a nice sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set in Real Red on a piece of Whsiepr White card stock and punched it out with my 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered that to a Garden Green scalloped mat cut with the Circles Layering Framelits and then to a Silver Foil Snowflake.

I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue and added a Stitched Felt Embellishment with a strip of Fast Fuse.  I added some silver hearts from the Metallic Enamel Shapes and it was done.

But – it wasn’t.  It needed….something.  So – I used a White Gel Pen to make some stitches around the Garden Green mat.

And that did it!

On the inside, I matted a piece of Whisper White card stock to another piece of Wood Textures DSP.  Then I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second Thankful Thoughts sentiment in Real Red.  Over the top, I added a couple of “stitched” tree shapes from the Christmas Quilt stamp set in Garden Green and another silver heart Metallic Enamel Shape.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Garden Green mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I repeated the Christmas Quilt shapes in Garden Green on the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope…

…and I added some more of the Quilted Christmas DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A Christmas-y non-Christmas card!  We all need thank you cards at this time of year, and Thankful Thoughts lends itself perfectly – especially when paired with some Quilted Christmas DSP!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

My little (or not-so-little these days!) Man is a fun guy to have on a road trip!

Mostly he sleeps…

But every once in a while, he comes to see what’s going on in the front of the truck.

And – when I get very very lucky, I can capture a doggie (that’s a dog-selfie…)…

And then, if I just keep at it, I get…

Possibly the cutest Finn-picture ever!!  Seriously – look at that face!! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Plaid Merry Cafe Christmas!

Happy Cyber Monday, y’all!  Can I just say – have you placed your FREE SHIPPING order yet?  If not – might I ask – what the heckerya waitin’ for?!?  I mean – seriously!  Free Shipping on any and every order.  It’s the perfect reason to get all stocked up on necessities and not-so-necessities!

And – in case Free Shipping wasn’t enough…DOUBLE.  PEPPERMINT.  POINTS.

That pretty much oughta do it!

So – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – I thank you for spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, and you’d like to watch the YouTube replay – here ’tis!

I used the fun Merry Cafe stamp set which, handily enough, matches the Coffee Cups Framelits in the Annual Catalog (it’s bundled with the Coffee Cafe stamp set – thus saving you 10%).  I added a few other little goodies and came up with…this.  Take a look-see:

This one played along with the sketch and, to some extent, the inspiration photo from the Fusion challenge.

I started with some pretty paper from the Quilted Christmas DSP Stack and matted it on some Real Red card stock with Fast Fuse.  The oval part of the sketch is a piece of Powder Pink card stock, cut with an Ovals Layering Framelits die and then embossed in the Holly TIEF and matted on a scalloped Real Red Oval.

I adhered the matted oval to the card front with Fast Fuse.

I cut a large coffee cup from the plaid Quilted Christmas DSP using the die from the Coffee Cups Framelits.  For the whipped cream, I cut it from Whisper White and then embossed it in the Seaside TIEF.  I outlined the resulting curved lines with my Fine Tip Glue Pen and sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Glitter.  I used some Liquid Glue to adhere the cream to the back of my plaid coffee cup, then I adhered it all to the embossed oval with Liquid Glue.

Using the sentiment from the Merry Cafe stamp set – and inking the words separately with Real Red and Garden Green ink, I stamped it on Whisper White and cut it with the die in the Coffee Cups Framelits.  I added some faux stitches with my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered it to the cup with Liquid Glue.

My embellishments come from several places.  I used the Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut a few pine boughs from some green plaid paper from the Quilted Christmas DSP Stack.  Real Red berries and a few Whisper White sprigs rounded it out.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the card front.  Then I tied a bow from 1/4″ Quilted Christmas Ribbon and attached it with a Glue Dot.  To finish the “bouquet” – I used some Fast Fuse to adhere a holly sprig from the Stitched Felt Embellishments.

Being the packrat I am, I’d toted home a Silver/Gold Foil snowflake that I’d made for a previous card with the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits die set.  I adhered it with Liquid Glue and stuck a Clear Faceted Gem over the top.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Merry Cafe in Real Red and Garden Green and stamped it on a Whisper White panel.  At the bottom, I used the two-step berries image to stamp the stems in Crumb Cake and the berries in Real Red.  Then I added another Clear Faceted Gem.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Merry Cafe berries in Crumb Cake and Real Red on the front…

…and some more of the red Quilted Christmas DSP Stack paper to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Quilted Christmas and Merry Cafe all come together to make a yummy Christmas card, don’t you think?  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan-Fix

Finn loves this time of year!

Well – to be fair, it’s only his second ever “this time of year”, right??

But he really likes being outside in the sunshine when it’s brisk and cool out.

In fact, he has to be persuaded to come in to eat.  Or do anything else!

Just a dog.  Chillin’ on his golf cart.

Life is good indeed!

Stampin’ Up! Plaid Watercolor Christmas!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope you’re all ready for T-day tomorrow.  I’ll be egg-boiling and potato smooshing and broccoli cooking today in preparation for the big day!  And I’m sure Finn will be right underfoot – helping! 🙂

My card today is a Christmas offering using the Watercolor Christmas stamp set and some Quilted Christmas DSP in wonderful Real Red plaid.  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by the sketch at the Global Design Project this week – I just turned it on its side!

I started by Fast Fusing a piece of plaid Quilted Christmas DSP to a Garden Green mat for the card front.

To make the window-paned sentiment, I stamped the Watercolor Wishes sentiment in Garden Green on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then I sliced it into 6 little rectangles.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the window panes to a piece of Garden Green card stock, with just tiny gaps between them, and then trimmed the whole thing down to size.  I could have tried to do the math, but…no.  Not this day.  Wasn’t happening.  So, I just eyeballed and trimmed! 🙂

I wrapped a length of Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine three times around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  I pulled the three strands together in about the middle of the panel – holding them in place with a Glue Dot.

I popped the sentiment panel over the twine with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Using some Fast Fuse and Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered two Stitched Felt Embellishments to the card front.  Then I tied a bow from some Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon and adhered it with a little dab of Fast Fuse.  Over that, with a Glue Dot, I added a double-length bow in Black Solid Baker’s Twine.

I stuck on a large Black Rhinestone Jewel in the middle of the bow, added a smaller one by the sentiment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second sentiment from Watercolor Wishes in Real Red ink to a Whisper White panel.  Then I added some little trees from Watercolor Christmas in Garden Green.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Garden Green mat and then into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Garden Green trees from Watercolor Christmas across the front…

…and a bit more of the plaid Quilted Christmas paper on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the fonts in this Watercolor Christmas stamp set, don’t you?  And the three little tree images that go with them…too cute!  Hope you like! 🙂

Finn-Fan-Fix

Finn and I did a little obedience tuning up on Tuesday.  We’d been gone for several hours and he needed to DO something, Mom.

DO anything!

Oh.  Obedience?  Hmmmm….

Weeeellll….okay!  So we heeled and sat and stayed and downed (-ish!) for a while.  Clicker and treats at the ready.

And then – we played some fetch.

Which is, of course, what he was after in the first place!!

Stampin’ Up! Quilted Christmas Trees for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a fun and Christmas-y sketch to play with today, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s the sketch in question!

I took it pretty literally, and used the Christmas Quilt stamp set and matching Build a Quilt Framelits, added some Wood Textures and Christmas Quilt DSPs and came up with…take a look-see:

This one was pretty easy, with just a touch of fussy cutting of some simple shapes.

I started by building the card front, with a piece of Garden Green paper from the Quilted Christmas DSP Stack, matted on Powder Pink.  Over that, I placed a piece of Wood Textures DSP.  I cut the panel, and then ran it thru the Big Shot with the long straight “dots” die from the Swirly Snowflake Thinlits along the long edge.  I matted it on Powder Pink and Fast Fuse’d it to the card front.

Then I made some Christmas trees!  Here are the trees I made…from left to right.

Tree 1:  I fussy cut a triangle from a piece of Christmas Quilt DSP.  Then I used the little “stitches” die in the Build A Quilt Framelits to add some “stitches”.

Tree 2:  I stamped the dotted triangle image from Quilted Christmas in Real Red on Whisper White and cut it with the die from the Build A Quilt set.  Then I fussy cut the plaid triangle from the DSP stack and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Tree 3: this is a Stitched Felt Embellishment.  I stamped a little “tree stand” in Real Red and cut it with the matching die.

Tree 4:  Similar to the green plaid tree – just with a different triangle.  And – another “tree stand”.

Tree 5:  Similar to Tree 1.

I layered the trees over the Wood Textures DSP using Liquid Glue for three of them – and then I popped the Stitched Felt Embellishment and the far left tree on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment, from Quilted Christmas, is stamped in Real Red ink on a strip of Powder Pink card stock.  I inked each word separately (started with Christmas) in order to get just those words.  I snipped banner ends on both ends, edged it with my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker and popped it over the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a silver star Metallic Enamel Shape to the Stitched Felt Embellishment tree and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the sentiment and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added two trees to a Whisper White panel.  They both started with Real Red dotted outlines and then I snipped a tree from the Quilted Christmas DSP to adhere in the left tree.  For the second one, I masked the first tree with a sticky note and used the fill-images in Christmas Quilt in Powder Pink and Garden Green to fill it in.  Then I added a “base” in Real Red and Garden Green.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Christmas Quilt tree on the front in Real Red, Garden Green and Powder Pink…

…and some more of the Quilted Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Trees made from Christmas Quilt and Build a Quilt pieces!  Cool!  Pretty versatile little bundle this one is, huh?  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Quilted Merry Patterns Video Sneak Peek

So – guess what day it is!?!

No, sillies!  Not Hawwwmp Day!!

C’mon…have we learned nothing?!?

Nope – it’s Facebook Live Video Sneak Peek Day!

Just doesn’t roll off the tongue like Hawwwmp Day, does it?! 😉

You know what’s next – here’s what we’ll be playing with tonight at 8pm Eastern time on my Stamps-N-Lingers Facebook page.

I do hope you’ll join me – here’s a link right to the page! 🙂

So – some news from the Utah front.  This afternoon – I’m writing this on Saturday – I got home after a….tedious…day at work and spent about an hour moving to my new room.

A Suite!

I’m not sure if the tradeoff was worth it.  I didn’t really have a choice – I had to move – but…

In the end, I traded this small-but-pretty-usable space:

…for this small and pretty darned awkward space:

The tradeoff is…

…yes.  A human size refrigerator (a small human, but still).

So – for the remaining month or so I have here, I can almost “stock up” on Lean Cuisines!

Whoo-hoo?

See ya tonight, y’all! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Merry Little Christmas Quilt for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s color challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

This week’s colors were a bit of a challenge for me…

I looked around for some inspiration and stumbled on my stack of Quilted Christmas DSP.  All Real Red and Garden Green.  So…I pulled out the Christmas Quilt stamp set and Quilt Builder Framelits and…take a look-see:

I started with a Garden Green pattern and Fast Fuse’d it to a Lemon Lime Twist mat for the card front.

My sentiment, from Christmas Quilt, is stamped in Real Red on a piece of Whisper White.   I added a stamped tree image in Lemon Lime Twist, and then stamped the dotted tree outline image in Garden Green.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and ran the whole thing thru the Big Shot in the Quilt Top TIEF.  I used Fast Fuse to add it to the card front.

On a scrap of Whisper White, I stamped the tree image again, this time in Garden Green.  Then I added the second image over that in Lemon Lime Twist and cut it out with the matching die from the Quilt Builder Framelits.  Then I adhered it to the sentiment panel with Liquid Glue.  This framelits set also has a tiny little star die, so I used it to cut a star from Real Red paper in the Quilted Christmas DSP stack, and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Finally, I adhered one of the Stitched Felt Embellishments with Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added another tree from Christmas Quilt in Lemon Lime Twist with a Garden Green dotted border.  I stamped the image a second time, on a sticky note, and cut it out as a mask.  With the first tree covered, I added a second tree in Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist.  A Real Red star tops them off.  Then I edged the whole panel with my Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium envelope got a couple more Christmas Quilt trees on the front – complete with a Real Red star…

…and I added more of the Quilted Christmas DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such a cute little Suite of goodies – with lots of design possibilities.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Quilted Christmas Merry Little Christmas

Happy Monday, y’all.  An oxymoron isn’t the bestest way to start a blog post – but…there you have it.  Let’s call it a Fake-it-till-you-Make-it kind of deal!  Let’s see if we can make this into a great day, shall we!

If you were able to join me last night for my FB live video – thanks for giving me a part of your weekend!  If not, here’s a link to the video on YouTube, in case you want to watch!

I made this card in colors that remind me of my youth!  We always had blue-and-green Christmas lights on our house when I was growing up.  I remember wanting different colors – can’t recall if I wanted multicolored lights or all white… 🙂  But – regardless, we had blue-and-green and so this card is Christmas in my head!  I used the new Christmas Quilt stamp set and bundled Quilt Builder Framelits to make it (which you can get – and save some more green! – in one of my special bundles right now!).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch at this week’s Fusion challenge:

And my not-so-traditonal Christmas colors are from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with two patterns in Garden Green from the Quilted Christmas DSP stack, matting both of them on Night of Navy card stock, and then adhering them together with Fast Fuse.

For the sentiment panel, I stamped the sentiment from Quilted Christmas in Night of Navy on a piece of Whisper White.  Then I matted it on Night of Navy and ran the whole thing thru the Quilt Top TIEF.  I adhered it with Liquid Glue to the card front.

The art piece is a piece of Whisper White, cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die and matted on a scalloped circle Night of Navy mat, cut with the Layering Circles Framelits.  I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For my quilt pieces, I first stamped the two diamond images in Night of Navy and Garden Green, then added the dotted outline in Night of Navy and cut it out with the matching die in the Quilt Builder Framelits.  I also cut a piece of the Quilted Christmas DSP Stack with the same die.  Then I used the square quilt dies to cut the “outline” shape in Night of Navy, snipping the middle out.

I adhered the Night of Navy piece to the quilted star and then added a bow tied with a double length of White Solid Baker’s Twine with a dab of Liquid Glue.  Under the bow I stuck a Garden Green Enamel Shape and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I added the Night of Navy and Garden Green “quilt” pieces to the corner of a Whisper White panel, then added the Night of Navy outline.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Quilted Christmas design on the front…

…and I added more of the Quilted Christmas DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How pretty is this suite, y’all!?  There are so many possible combinations and different ways to put it all together – you can make any sort of “quilt” for any purpose at all!  Change up the sentiment – and you’re ready for anything.  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix

Our sweet dog Buck was a Champion Sleeper.  I think he even had that title after his name.

Finn-y is a semi-pro sleeper.  He’s still young, so he’s still learning and has to practice daily.  Which he does with enthusiasm.  He’s already a Canine Good Citizen.  But he craves even more accolades.

So….Today – a retrospective.

The Many Sleeping Places Of Finn.  Or….How Finn is Training for his Champion Sleeper Title.

It takes grit.  It takes determination.  It takes single-minded focus on the goal.

You’re looking at a future Champion, y’all!.
