Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Christmas Kit & Kaboodle!

Hey y’all!  Happy Black Friday! Are you one of those folks who’ve been up since last night – waiting to storm the Walmart/Best Buy/etc doors at the very moment they open today?

We – most assuredly! – are not!  We do have plans to go to Tractor Supply today – but it’s under duress and only cuz they’ve got a heckuva deal on dog and cat food!  Otherwise, we’d hunker down behind our gate and stay here till Monday!  And put up Christmas decorations!

And – speaking of Christmas – with Thanksgiving safely behind us (hope you had a wonderful day!) – it’s time to really put some energy into getting ready for the Next.  Big.  Thing.

Christmas!

To that end – let me show you what I put together yesterday in between roasting Brussels sprouts and mashing potatoes!  And, it’s available to you right now to help you get ready for Christmas, too.  It’s the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit!!

Take a look-see at what you can make!

So – since this is a Project Kit, not an All Inclusive Kit – you do need to be sure you’ve got the “rest” of the pieces and parts to put this kit together.  Like…the Watercolor Christmas stamp set ( you can get it in Clear or Wood – and it’s got the most beautiful sentiments and fonts!), Basic Black Archival Ink and adhesive (Fast Fuse, Stampin’ Dimensionals and your Fine-Tip Glue Pen).  Once you’ve got all that gathered up – just follow the easy directions and wham bam!  Twenty pretty note cards speedy quick!

I did get a little jiggy with one of the designs – I decided to turn it on its side.

You can do that, you know!  Deviate from the directions and make them your own! 🙂

They even include twenty heavyweight envelopes and beautiful gold foil liners!

I, cuz…it’s me!…took it another step and added a little Christmas tree from Watercolor Christmas onto the front of each gold-lined envelope.  I quickly colored the tree with my Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker.  🙂

So – I know you need Christmas cards – we all do!  Don’t hesitate to grab you one or two of these kits and get crafty!  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan-Fix

Finn had a wonderful Thanskgiving!  He went with us and played with Scout!  And played and played and played!

And…did his Dad take any pictures??  Nope.

There simply was no getting a picture.  They were a blur!  And I was in the house with Jan, getting the last minute things done.

When we finally got home last night, we were all stuffed (well – we were, Finn wasnt’!) and ready for bed.

Which he let us know by heading into the kennel at just the barest hint that we were heading to bed ourselves.

He waited so patiently for his go-to-bed-snacks.

Really.  How cute is this funny, sweet little dog?!?

Stampin’ Up! Plaid Watercolor Christmas!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope you’re all ready for T-day tomorrow.  I’ll be egg-boiling and potato smooshing and broccoli cooking today in preparation for the big day!  And I’m sure Finn will be right underfoot – helping! 🙂

My card today is a Christmas offering using the Watercolor Christmas stamp set and some Quilted Christmas DSP in wonderful Real Red plaid.  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by the sketch at the Global Design Project this week – I just turned it on its side!

I started by Fast Fusing a piece of plaid Quilted Christmas DSP to a Garden Green mat for the card front.

To make the window-paned sentiment, I stamped the Watercolor Wishes sentiment in Garden Green on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then I sliced it into 6 little rectangles.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the window panes to a piece of Garden Green card stock, with just tiny gaps between them, and then trimmed the whole thing down to size.  I could have tried to do the math, but…no.  Not this day.  Wasn’t happening.  So, I just eyeballed and trimmed! 🙂

I wrapped a length of Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine three times around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  I pulled the three strands together in about the middle of the panel – holding them in place with a Glue Dot.

I popped the sentiment panel over the twine with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Using some Fast Fuse and Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered two Stitched Felt Embellishments to the card front.  Then I tied a bow from some Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon and adhered it with a little dab of Fast Fuse.  Over that, with a Glue Dot, I added a double-length bow in Black Solid Baker’s Twine.

I stuck on a large Black Rhinestone Jewel in the middle of the bow, added a smaller one by the sentiment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second sentiment from Watercolor Wishes in Real Red ink to a Whisper White panel.  Then I added some little trees from Watercolor Christmas in Garden Green.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Garden Green mat and then into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Garden Green trees from Watercolor Christmas across the front…

…and a bit more of the plaid Quilted Christmas paper on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the fonts in this Watercolor Christmas stamp set, don’t you?  And the three little tree images that go with them…too cute!  Hope you like! 🙂

Finn-Fan-Fix

Finn and I did a little obedience tuning up on Tuesday.  We’d been gone for several hours and he needed to DO something, Mom.

DO anything!

Oh.  Obedience?  Hmmmm….

Weeeellll….okay!  So we heeled and sat and stayed and downed (-ish!) for a while.  Clicker and treats at the ready.

And then – we played some fetch.

Which is, of course, what he was after in the first place!!

Stampin’ Up! Color Me Happy Watercolor Christmas

Good mornin’, y’all!  It’s Friday-Lite!  Which is a new term I just made up meaning…the calendar says it’s Friday, but the fact that I’ll be here working tomorrow, means…it really isn’t!  But – I do hope it’s a full-up Friday for all y’all and that you have some fun plans for the weekend!

Before we get going – let me make a quick plug for the Stampin’ Blends special bundles and Double Peppermint Ordering Special (for folks who order one of my bundles) going on now thru the 14th.  Folks are snapping these up – don’t miss out, okay?

For today’s card, I borrowed the pretty little flower image from the Color Me Happy stamp set (part of the Stampin’ Blends release and bundles) and added in a couple sentiments from Watercolor Christmas.  Take a look-see:

My layout comes from the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

And the colors and several elements were inspired by the photo at The Card Concept.  I’d call my card style Clean and Layered.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF.  I toyed with a few designs from the Wood Textures DSP but just couldn’t make any of them appeal to me with the color scheme. 🙂

I matted the panel on Cherry Cobbler as the card front.

My sentiment, from the Watercolor Christmas stamp set, is stamped in Versamark Ink on Whisper White card stock, sprinkled with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  Then I matted it on Cherry Cobbler and adhered it to the card front with Fast Fuse.

To make my decoration, I stamped the flower from Color Me Happy in Versamark on a piece of scrap Whisper White, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it.  Then I colored it with the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut it.

I stamped the detailed leaf image from the Painted Harvest stamp set in Versamark on Garden Green and heat embossed them in Gold.  Then I punched them out with my Leaf Punch.  I also cut a few extra berries with the Pretty Pines Thinlits – in Gold Foil and Whisper White.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves and berries to the card front and popped the Color Me Happy flower on top with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a gold Metallic Enamel Shapes dot to the middle of the flower and a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels around the sentiment.  To finish it all off, I tied a double-strand bow from Gold Metallic Thread and adhered it with a tiny dab of Liquid Glue.

On the inside, I stamped the solid leaf image from Painted Harvest in Garden Green up the side of a Whisper White panel. When it was dry, I stamped the second, detailed, leaf image over the top in Versamark and heat embossed that image in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I added a second sentiment from Watercolor Christmas in Cherry Cobbler, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it where it needed to be.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the Garden Green/Gold Embossed leaves from Painted Harvest up the side…

…and I embossed the envelope flap in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF.

Et Voila!  This is such a pretty little flower from Color Me Happy – and when it’s colored with the new Stampin’ Blends (need to getcha some!), I think it notches up to gorgeous!  And I love the fonts in the beautiful Watercolor Christmas stamp set.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Christmas Happiness

Well, it’s Friday.  And….yes, it’s really Friday!  We’re getting tomorrow (and Sunday!!) off!!  Whoo-hooo!

And – I’m feeling particularly perky cuz – although I have to fly to CA and back next week (bleh), I splurged and upgraded myself to First Class!  I justified it to myself every which way from Sunday  – some valid… others…reaching a bit.  But – in the end…yep.  I pulled the trigger!

So, to celebrate, let’s talk about a card that uses one of my favorite techniques – the Triple Time technique.  It’s super easy to do and looks like it took forever.  Add in the Christmas Happiness pines and pine cones and a couple of gorgeous sentiments from Watercolor Christmas and it’s a slam dunk!  Take a look-see:

I started the way most Triple Time cards start – I cut three panels of decreasing size of Very Vanilla card stock (okay – Triple Time cards do not have to be Very Vanilla, you know what I meant!) and stacked them up.  On the smallest panel, I heat embossed a small sentiment from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set in Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

When it was cool, I used a teensy dab of Liquid Glue between the layers to gently – and temporarily! – hold them together for stamping.

I stamped the Christmas Happiness pine bough image several times across the layers with Old Olive ink.  Then I used the medium pine cone outline image and stamped it in Early Espresso.  Finally, I added a couple of Christmas lights in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I used my new Stampin’ Blends to color the images – the two Crumb Cake pens for the pine cones, the two Daffodil Delight and Old Olive pens for the lights!

I carefully pulled the layers apart and matted each one on a piece of Wood Textures DSP.  Then I added the two middle layers with Stampin’ Dimensionals – making sure my stamped images lined up correctly!

For my pine cone embellishments, I turned to the ever-faithful Pretty Pines Thinlits.  I cut a couple of short pine boughs from Old Olive card stock and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  The pine cones are cut from Wood Textures DSP (same design as my mats) and the backs are from Copper Foil.  I adhered them together with Liquid Glue and popped them on with Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I tied a little bow from Jute Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I inked the Christmas Happiness pine bough in Old Olive ink, stamped it off once on scrap paper, and stamped it in the middle of a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top of that, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and stamped a second sentiment from Watercolor Christmas in Versamark Ink.  Then I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up!

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to its Wood Textures DSP mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, Fast Fuse’d the card front on and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Christmas Happiness pine bough and cone on the front. I colored the cone with my Stampin’ Blends…

…and I added more of the Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.  Aaannndddd…when I remembered the “Stampin’ Blends bleed thru” adage (which I did when I saw where it had bled thru!!) I added another pine bough and cone.  But – for that one, I folded a scrap of paper and put it between the layers to protect the front of the envelope! 🙂

Et Voila!  Triple Time Technique!  Christmas Happiness pine cones and boughs!  Gorgeous sentiments from Watercolor Christmas!  What’s not to love?!  I hope you do! 🙂
