Stampin’ Up! Hey Birthday Chick in a Window!

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Hope the week is going well for you – and that you’re getting dug out of the snow if you were in the path of the Snowmaggedon!

I’ve got a cute card for you today using the brand new Hey Birthday Chick stamp set and the bundled Birthday Chick Dies!  Take a look-see:

The color scheme for this one is from this week’s MFT Color Challenge.

And I’d say this little chick definitely qualifies for the Inspire.Create Theme challenge.

I started with a piece of Gray Granite plaid paper from the Neutrals 6″ x 6″ DSP (this is one of the NEW patterns that you’ll get when you join Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration – yes, it’s one of the 200 FREE sheets of DSP!!).  I matted it on Basic Black for the card front.

I used the fun fence die in the new Birthday Chick Die set to cut two Basic White fence pieces – that I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a darker piece of Rococo Rose paper from the Oh So Ombre 6″ x 6″ DSP (FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration) using the next-to-largest Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die.  I cut the same size from a piece of Basic Black.

Using the next-to-largest oval Stitched Shapes Dies, I cut a “window” from the black die cut and popped it onto the DSP die cut with Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sweet Hey Birthday Chick image in Tuxedo Black on Basic White.  Then I stamped just the balloon on the lightest part of the Rococo Rose Oh So Ombre DSP (the pattered side).  Using the die in Birthday Chick, I cut the image from the Whisper White panel.  Then I fussy cut the Oh So Ombre balloon.

Using my Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends, I colored the chicken – and used my Petal Pink Blend for her head.  I cheated the color challenge a smidge to color the beak and feet with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.

I adhered the die cut to the Rococo Rose panel – tucking it under the raised panel.  I left the balloon “out” – using a Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere it to the outside of the frame.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the fussy cut balloon in place. Finally, I cut a tiny little bow tie with the Birthday Chick die from a piece of the lightest Rococo Rose Oh So Ombre DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Using the fun sentiment die in the Birthday Chick die set, I cut the sentiment in Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I added some Champagne Rhinestone Jewels here and there and the card front was done!

On the inside, I inked a second chicken from Hey Birthday Chick in Gray Granite, stamped it off once and stamped the middle of a Basic White panel.  Then I added a sentiment from Hey Birthday Chick in Rococo Rose in the middle.  Using stamped-off-once Rococo Rose, I added confetti.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Gray Granite card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the chicken in full-strength Gray Granite and confetti in stamped-off-once Rococo Rose on the front…

…and more of the Rococo Rose Oh So Ombre DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  These little crazy chickens in the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set are so stinkin’ cute – and the fact that they ALSO have matching dies in the Birthday Chick set is just the icing on the cake!  And…little fences!  And that die cut sentiment is just wonderful!

I hope you like – and will add this one to your…barn! 😉

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below!

Stampin’ Up! Everything Amazing and Silhouettes!

Happy happy HAWWWMP Day! 🙂  Hope your week is going well!

Back when I first saw the new See A Silhouette DSP, I thought in my head…”Hey – the 70’s called and want their psychedelic colors back!”.  Not that I don’t like it – I really do (a LOT!) – but…it’s definitely wild.  And – for me – has a sort of 70’s hippy vibe.   I used it with a fun new stamp set called Everything Amazing.  Take a look-see:

This stamp set works perfectly with this week’s Just Us Girls Trend challenge!

I started by adhering some of that wonderful paper on Mango Melody for the card front!

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the big bold sentiment from Everything Amazing in Poppy Parade on a piece of Whisper White.  Then I added the other two – smaller – sentiments in Mossy Meadow.  This set is so fun – you can mix and match to make so many different sentiments! 🙂

I added some candles – also from the Everything Amazing stamp set – in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with my Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Pacific Point and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Markers.

I matted the panel on Mango Melody and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels – no, I know, they don’t match but…what DID in the 70’s?!?!  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a couple of Tuxedo Black balloons – that I colored in Poppy Parade, Pacific Point and Mango Melody – and a few Poppy Parade confetti strands and Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels to a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more balloons and confetti on the front…

…and I added more “groovy, man” See A Silhouette DSP to the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Isn’t this such a fun stamp set?  Everything Amazing is so versatile – and big enough to “carry” a card all by itself!  And the See A Silhouette DSP – not my usual style but…it’s so in-your-face fun and pretty – I can’t help but love it!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Well – the Finn-ster didn’t come home quite as unscathed from summer camp as we thought.  He’s got kennel cough.

Which is a generic term for any contagious upper respiratory illness with a cough.

So – he’s been hacking and coughing since last night.

Which meant…a trip to his doctor on Tuesday.

Only WE don’t like to go to his doctor (mostly cuz of the credit card business at the end!).

Finn LOVES his doctor!  And is the best of patients!

The good news is that the medicine they gave us was already making him feel better by Tuesday evening!! 🙂

Thanks, Dr. Chris!

That’s not “new” Dr. Chris – that’s “old” Dr. Chris.  What are the odds there’d be TWO Dr. Chris’s in Finn’s life?!?

Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up, Up & Away….Sneak Peek!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is progressing nicely towards the weekend – and the commencement of “Thanksgiving Week”!

Today (well, Tuesday, when I wrote this), was a big day for Finn.  In every farm dog’s life comes the moment when they discover…

The Horse Hoof Paring!

Yes.  It’s a treat of delicious and delectable stinky delightfulness.  And Finn found one early in his time here.  He brought it inside and chewed it and chewed it.  And set it aside for later.  Then found it again.  He took it to bed.  He took it outside and brought it back in.  It lasted him till just a couple of days ago.

Today – he discovered the source.

I call this one “In Which Finn-Chewie Discovers the Source of the Hoof Treat”

finn-watching-the-shoer
Of course, when you’re just a little kid, shoeing horses is hard work.  Even when your contribution is to be cute and watch politely from a distance.  Wears a puppy out!

finn-sleeping-after-the-shoer
What you can’t see is that he’s holding the leash in his mouth!  He’s a bit goofy, there’s no doubt!

So, once he was done shoeing and chewing (hence Finn-Chewie!), we went in the house for him to have another nap and for me to make a card!

I wanted to do another little Sneak Peek for you, so I pulled out the fun Lift Me Up Bundle with the stamp set and the Up & Away Framelits (these will be sold together for $53 for the wood bundle and $45.75 for the Clear bundle).  I added in the really fun Carried Away DSP (which is one of the offerings you’ll be able to get for free when Sale-A-Bration begins on 4 Jan!).  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Best Birds for the Birthday Theme Blog Hop!

13592748_10210100021645360_3082821684988557281_n
Mornin’, y’all –  welcome to another Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop.  We’re doing a Theme Hop and today is for Birthdays!  All of us will have a very different idea of what makes a birthday card, I’m sure, so I hope you’ll take the time to check them all out when you’re done here! 🙂

I’ve got a bit of a bird theme going on – maybe it’s Duck Duck’s influence.  She’s kind of a big deal, don’t you know?!  I didn’t use any more goose images, though – instead I went to the new – and pretty! – Best Birds stamp set, with it’s matching Thinlits, Birds & Blooms (which I got as a bundle and so saved 10%!).  Add in some Thoughtful Banners and Pop of Pink DSP and this is what I came up with!  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Swirly Jars of Love for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Mornin’, y’all –  welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  We have a fun sketch and I’m excited to share my card with you today – as are all the ladies who put their crafty talents to the challenge!  I hope you’ll take the time to check them all out when you’re done here! 🙂

Before we get started, though – I do want to remind you that Stampin’ Up! Bonus Days start today. 🙂  You can scroll down to the bottom of this post to get all the details!

Okay – on to the card….I mentioned that we all used a fun sketch for our shares today.  This is what it looks like:

July 7 - 2016
When I saw this sketch, I kind of immediately thought that a doily would be a great element to use for the large circle.  Well – “immediately” after I was trying to figure out how big a hole to cut in the rectangle to make the small circle.  And what stamped image would fit in said small cut out circle!  After making my brain hurt for a minute, I gave up on that particular thought and went back to my doily idea.  I grabbed some Floral Boutique DSP and my go-to dies – the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.  Then I added some florals from the Jar of Love and Everyday Jars Framelits.  And this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Swirly Jars of Love 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I fell back on a classic color combo here:  Night of Navy, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette.  Hard to miss with that one, heh?

To begin, I SNAILd a piece of Floral Boutique DSP to a Night of Navy mat.  Well, actually two – the card front (polka dot) and the small rectangle (stripes).  I pulled out one of the new Delicate White Doilies and used a little bit of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front – wrapping it slightly around to the back of the panel. Stampin’ Up! Rose Garden Happy Birthday for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2

Good morning, y’all – it’s Thursday and that means it’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop Day!  I’m sure happy that you’re taking time out of your busy day to stop by and see what we’re all up to this week!

Today we had a color challenge – you’ve probably figured out that we alternate weeks: sketch-color-sketch…  The color challenge for today was to use three colors that really complement each other perfectly!

12241768_1305622122797693_8981835550585165024_n

Working this card made me realize something…Mossy Meadow – one of my all-time favorite colors! – will be going away soon. 🙁  It’s part of the 2014-2016 In Color collection – and, as it’s 2016….well.  It – along with Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Twist will be yielding their spot in the Annual Catalog to….the new colors for 2016-2018!  I know those are going to be beautiful, but I’m sure gonna miss a few of these!  And that’s a head-up for you guys, as well – if these are favorites of yours, it might be time to start stocking up! 😉

So, for this card,  I pulled out some Birthday Bouquet DSP and the Rose Garden Thinlits.  I used a little White and Gold as neutrals with the challenge colors.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Friends, Flowers and Party Pants Birthday!

Good Monday to y’all – did that weekend just fly by or what?!?  I hope that you had a chance to rest in addition to those pesky gotta-get-’em-done-before-Monday things that might have been on your list.  And maybe even do something fun!

My card share for today is a quick and simple one, that uses the fun new Occasions stamp set called Friends & Flowers.  This one is kinda cool, because it coordinates perfectly with the Festive Flower Builder Punch – remember that one from the Holiday flyer?  The one that made the cool Poinsettias??  Like this one right here!  So I combined that stamp set with some paper from the Have a Cuppa DSP stack….and some other little fun things from the new Sale-A-Bration set called Party Pants – and this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2

Good morning, y’all – it’s Thursday and that means it’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop Day!  Whether you came from Shelagh’s blog or direct – I hope that you’ll make your way thru all the Blog Hoppin’ Ladies today!

Today was a bit hectic – besides working, it was grocery day, post office day, organize-the-stamping-area-day….oh, and make a card for the Blog Hop (the fun part of the day!). 🙂

I decided it was time to make a birthday card – a person can’t ever have too many of those waiting in the wings, now can they?  And I’ve been a bit remiss in replenishing my stock – been a bit stuck on Thank You and the odd Hey-Congrats-on-Getting-Engaged cards!  So, I tagged the beautiful Birthday Blossoms set from the Annual Catalog and made a mono-chromatic card featuring the gorgeous Wisteria Wonder.  And – this card even uses the Pansy Punch and the Bitty Butterfly punch – both of which are Weekly Deals right now!  Take a look-see:
