Welcome Fall

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek – Basket of Wishes and Cookie Cutter Halloween!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Wednesday, signaling that we’re cresting the hill and getting ready to slide on into another weekend!  And – in the case of this Wednesday….is one week and a day from the kick-off of the 2016 Holiday Catalog ordering season.  I’m thinking about putting my Christmas tree up, just in solidarity!

Just kidding.  That would be crazy.

Right?

I do have a totally unrelated question?  Does anyone know how many times a week Bachelor in Paradise is on?  Appears to me to be on every night.  And…how many Bachelor spin-offs are there these days?  Bachelors of the Serengeti?  Bachelor on the Orient Express?  Bachelor VS Predator?  Bachelor – The Bores Awaken?

Thank goodness for Big Bang Theory – no matter how many times I watch it – it’s just flat funny! 🙂 Perfect background noise for blog typing!

My card for today showcases another couple of stamp sets coming to you soon in the Holiday Catalog.  Cookie Cutter Halloween and Basket of Wishes.  As I’ve mentioned before – both Cookie Cutter Halloween and Cookie Cutter Christmas use the fun Cookie Cutter Builder punch – which you’ll be able to purchase as a bundle with Cookie Cutter Christmas! 🙂

Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle - Stamps-N-Lingers Basket of Wishes - Stamps-N-Lingers

I combined these with some Petals & Paisleys DSP and this is what I got.  Take a look-see:

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
My layout came from the design sketch challenge #62 at Stamp Ink Paper.

SIP #62
I did a little something different with this card – I started with my Delightful Dijon card base and ran the front of it thru the Big Shot in the Petal Burst TIEF.  It’s a pretty enough folder that the de-bossed side – visible when you open the card – looks just as good as the front!  I wrapped a piece of the new-in-the-Annual-Catalog Mint Macaron 5/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon around the card – securing it in the front with a couple of Glue Dots.  That way the inside of the card still looks pretty when you open it! 🙂

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd a piece of the Petals & Paisleys DSP to a Mint Macaron mat and SNAILd it directly to the card front.  Then I went ahead and made my sentiment, stamping the words in Cajun Craze ink using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  I snipped the word out and adhered them to the card front with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

I cut a circle of Very Vanilla and a mat of Mint Macaron with two dies from the Circles Layering Framelits.  I used my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker to add some faux stitches, then I SNAILd them together and popped them on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Using Crumb Cake ink, I stamped the basket and veggies images from Basket of Wishes on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I used Blender Pens to color the image – using Crumb Cake for the basket, and Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi for the vegetables.  Then I fussy cut the whole thing.  I did cut the leaves but I did not cut the little curly-do’s.  I mean, I’m good, but come on! 🙂  Using my stylus, I rounded the basket a little and set it aside.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
The little scarecrow dude from Cookie Cutter Halloween is also stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla.  He’s colored with Blender Pens and Mint Macaron, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  I punched him out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and then adhered him to the card with some Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional under his head.  Then I popped the basket over the top of him with Dimensionals.  And I added a couple of curly-do’s with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker.  And that was it for the front of the card.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I added another little scarecrow – using the exact same coloring technique as the dude on the front – to the corner of a Very Vanilla Panel.

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd it to a Mint Macaron mat and then into my Delightful Dijon card base, and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got one more Cookie Cutter Halloween scarecrow on the front…

Basket of Wishes Cookie Cutter Halloween 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and a custom envelope flap cover from another little bit of Petals & Paisleys DSP.

Stampin’ Up! For All Things Super Simple Single Stamp Saturday!

Hello Weekend!  Whoo-hoo!  Hope that you have some fun something to do!  I’m getting a haircut today – which is always good.  I love it when it’s just cut and easy to make look like something.  Something good, I mean! 🙂

Just a quick news flash.  Next weekend, I’ll be heading down to Tampa (hopefully with the hubby in tow!) to attend the Stampin’ Up! Onstage Live event.  Amy Koenders and Jari Francis are both going as well, so I think we’re going to have a great time!  One benny of going is we get a sneak peek at the new 2016 (seriously!?  Already?!?!) Occasions Catalog.  And I’ll bring home some goodies and be able to share some of that with you!  So be watching for that in the next few weeks, okay?

Today’s card is so darned easy that I called it a Super Simple Single Stamp Saturday card.  No Big Shot needed.  No Embossing folders.  No Framelits.  Just a stamp set – the beautiful For All Things (in the Annual Catalog) and some paper and ink.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Lovely as a Tree Welcomes Fall for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop!

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Welcome to the Third Weekly Happy Stampers Blog Hop!  When you read this, I’ll be once again slipping the surlies  – this time heading EAST! 🙂  Will be home in plenty of time to feed the horses and get pony nose kisses!  They’re good for what ails ya, I promise! 😉

We had a fun sketch challenge this week, and since we have so many talented ladies in our group, I know that you’re going to want to head over and see what they’ve all done with it!  At the end of this post, I’ve provided a link to all the ladies’ blogs, so take a minute to wander around blog-hop-ville and maybe even take a moment to leave everyone a comment!  Here’s what we were working to:

Happy Stampers #2 sketch

My take on this went in the direction of welcoming Fall!  So, I combined an old favorite – Lovely as a Tree – with the sentiment from For all Things, with a few touches from the new and beautiful Into the Woods.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Season Makes a Lovely Fall Card

Today’s card share uses the Christmas-y stamp set called Joyful Season, but it’s in the guise of a Fall card.  That’s the only stamp set you’ll need to make this card! I also used some layered stamping techniques, like I’ve shown you before.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sleighless Sleigh Ride For All Things!

As we head into the first official weekend of the 2015 Fall Season, I thought it would be fun to Welcome Fall with a simple, one-stamp-set card.  Now, to be fair, I also used the Sleigh Ride Thinlits.  I’m sorry, but I just had to use the Big Shot on this one-stamp-set card!

It’s easy to forget, with all the fun new products in the 2015 Holiday Catalog, that the Annual Catalog also has wonderful items that will make super cards for Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and beyond!  The stamp set that I chose today is just such an item – the For All Things set.  This was originally in the 2014 Holiday Catalog and (thankfully!!) made it into the Annual Catalog.  It’s a good ‘un, and I hope it stays as an active set for many years to come.

Take a look see at what I got when I paired For All Things with the Sleigh Ride Thinlits:

Stampin’ Up! Lighthearted Leaves Welcome Fall!

Good morning – and Happy Hump Day!  It’s Wednesday, which means I’m half way thru my business trip and almost ready to go back home.

Except for how I’m writing this on Tuesday afternoon.  Lying on my bed in the hotel.  Awaiting time to go back out to dinner.

WARNING:  This is a bit long-ish, so….if you’re in a hurry, scroll right on by this next part until you see the card share for today! 🙂

Have you guys noticed that I’m a bit of a …. how do you say it??…..stick in the mud?  Home-body?  A morning person?  If you haven’t, let me share that news with you now.  I am NOT at my best in the evening (and that’s pretty much any time after about 6:30pm).  Here’s a totally normal evening for us – and it’s a routine that I love with every fiber of my being.  I’m sorry.  I like our routine.  I don’t care for it being disrupted.  In some regards, I may well be 92 years old.  God help whoever has to take care of my crotchety self if and when I ever really AM 92 years old.  And tread lightly if you’re going to change anything in my day-to-day-routine! 😉

We eat dinner between 5 and 6.  We usually watch a recorded show whilst we eat (yes yes, I know.  Bad for the diet.  Bad for….well, everything.  Got it).

We feed the horses.

We come back inside.

We make sure we re-set the kitty feeder bowls.

We watch the World News Tonight with David Sawyer. Pre-recorded.  We aren’t partial to commercials.  We have a pretty solid idea how far behind we have to be in order to not ever catch up while we watch the show.  It’s a matter of pride to never have to watch a commercial.

We watch one pre-recorded show.

I’m tired and I take a shower.  Wayne takes a shower.  We go to bed.

On a “late” night – this occurs at around 9.

Yea – we’re night-owls.

So here’s the point of this written perambulation.

When I’m away from home and staying in a hotel, my routine has been disrupted.  Like – a lot.  When I get back to the hotel in the evening, I’d better have already eaten or have take-out.  Cause….I’m there.  And thinking about bed.

Except tonight, I’m going out to dinner with some friends I don’t get to see except when I come here for meetings.  But, it’s going to take everything I’ve got…..  cause….yep.  Stick in the mud.

And – it’s practically bedtime!

So, I’m going to keep myself in busy mode by doing my blog post for tomorrow morning now – cause when I get BACK from dinner, it really WILL be bedtime!

This is a simple and easy card to make.  I found the technique in the new 2015 Holiday Catalog, and modified it to suit what I was after.  It uses Lighthearted Leaves (1 Sept!) and For All Things – a wonderful classic in the Annual Catalog.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Season Cardinal Welcomes Fall!

Well, it’s Sunday.  And we’re on the way north to Athens to watch Chris get his white coat!  And I’m blogging for Monday cause I figure we’ll be gone all day. In fact, I’m chatting with Chris’ parents, in the car, and blogging at the same time!  I’m a multi-tasker that way! It’s just how I roll.

Just to be clear – I am NOT driving! 😉

I got up early and made this card using two new products from the Holiday Catalog – going LIVE in just 15 days!  I used the new stamp set called Joyful Season and one of the wondrous new Textured Embossing Folders – Woodland.  This one is truly one of my favorite new things – looks just like an aspen grove in the mountains of Colorado!  I combined them to welcome Fall.  Take a look-see:
