Good morning and Happy Friday, y’all! Heading into the weekend again! Just a few more before Christmas! 🙂
My “card” today isn’t a card at all – it’s a gift card/treat holder! It’s a Diaper Fold – which is all over the internet – tons of videos and a super easy fold! I actually put four together – two using A Walk in the Forest DSP (retiring soon) and the Trucking Along Bundle (from the Online Exclusives) and two using the Beary Cute Bundle and Beary Christmas DSP (both of which are ALSO retiring!). These little stocking-stuffer-suitable projects fit nicely with The Paper Player theme challenge this week!
My holders started with a 7″ x 7″ piece of the DSP – you can make them with 6″ x 6″ paper but…the gift cards fit in pretty snuggly. And you might not be able to add a little treat – I was able to put a little chocolate snowman in with my gift card.
The diaper fold starts by folding the square into a triangle – and then folding each corner over to touch the opposite side.
Like…you know…a cloth diaper! 😉
I used a little Liquid Glue under the corner to help hold the fold in place. You don’t HAVE to do that – but…it made me happy!
Finally – I folded down the front flap – burnishing it with my Bone Folder. And – I used some Liquid Glue there, too.
I decorated the holders by cutting mats in Cherry Cobbler (for the Trucking Along version) and Night of Navy (for the Beary Cute version) using the largest Stylish Shapes circle die. The next largest die made the Basic White sentiment/art circle.
Here’s how I decorated the Trucking Along version:
– I stamped the Trucking Along sentiment on the Basic White circle in Balmy Blue ink.
– On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the outline of the truck in Tuxedo Black and then stamped the fill in Cherry Cobbler.
– I used the Trucking Along Builder Punch to cut out the truck.
– I colored the tires and back bumper with my Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blend.
– I colored the hubs and back window with a Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend.
– I colored the hub caps with the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend.
– I set the truck in place on the white circle and used it as a guide so that I could stamp the “pavement” and the outline of the tree in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
– Then I stamped the tree “fill” image in Garden Green ink.
– I adhered the truck to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the circle to the Cherry Cobbler mat and then onto the front of the A Walk in the Forest DSP holder. A few Cherry Cobbler Festive Pearls finished it off!
For the Beary Cute version:
– I inked “Merry” (from Beary Cute) in Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped the white circle.
– I cleaned the stamp, inked “Christmas” in Cherry Cobbler and stamped it under the first word.
– I stamped the tree fill image in Mossy Meadow ink.
– I stamped the snowflake a few times in stamped-off-once Balmy Blue.
– On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the polar bear in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
– I punched out the bear with the bundled Beary Cute Builder Punch.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the circle to the Night of Navy mat and then onto the front of the Beary Christmas DSP holder. Then I added the bear with more Dimensionals and a few light blue Festive Pearls to finish it off!
Then it was just a matter of gently opening the pouches and tucking my gift card and little chocolate snowman right inside!
And y’all – when I say “fast” – I’m not just blowing smoke up your flight suite, either! Which means – if you’ve got a lot of gift cards to give…pull out that DSP and get to folding! 😎😎
Et Voila! This is just so fun – and SO easy to put together! The fold is quick as a bunny and our beautiful paper – like Beary Christmas and A Walk in the Forest – make for instant “pretty”! Add some sentiments and cute images – like from the Trucking Along or Beary Cute bundles and..you’ve got the bestest way to give a gift card and little treat to someone special!

Finn Fan Fix 
Night before last, I was later going to bed than Finn thought was appropriate.
So – when I walked into the bedroom….
I went back to the kitchen and got him his night cookie – which he ate in the exact position you see him right there. I DID take a video but…the tv was on and…that’s all you can hear.
Since his feets were sticking out the gate – I left it open and went to take a shower and get everything closed down for the night.
When I got back – he was gone. Back in the living room somewhere, I guess.
So…had to call him to go to bed.
Which – duh – necessitated a SECOND round of night cookies!
He’s no dummy!

Hmmm…the Finn looks longer than his house?
We always drove through Christmas Tree Lane in the Fig Gardens at Fresno to see the decorated houses and the big firs in the median lighted.
Not really – he’s just pointing his toes!! 🙂
Finn- what a character! Since we got Willow her new bed she puts herself to bed quite often these days.
The things we like to do at Christmas are trimming the tree and decorating the house; Christmas Eve at Cornerstone Church followed by a Christmas movie; a sleigh ride and pizza at Wedges Creek Hideaway with the grandsons.
THAT sounds like a wonderful way to spend the holiday! Sleigh ride and pizza?? Yes, please! :). Thanks!
