Stampin’ Up! Softly Sophisticated Watercolor Melon Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I picked TWO new Sneaky Peeks for you today – BOTH are going to be get-able for FREE with a qualifying purchase during the Jan-Feb 2024 Sale-a-Bration (starts 4 Jan 2024!)!  The Watercolor Melon stamp set – super cute! – and the Softly Sophisticated Bundle!  I just added some Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP!  Take a look-see:

And here’s the sketch we were all playing with!

I also selected some elements from this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe challenge board! I went across the middle (punch – Gingham – 2 Step stamping) and down the right column (Pearls-2 Step stamping – embossing).

I started by matting some Pretty Peacock Glorious Gingham DSP on a piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock for the card front.

Next, on a smaller piece of Basic White, I stamped the leaf image from Watercolor Melon...

…up the side in Lemon Lime Twist ink.  Note: for this line – I had the leaf pointing UP!  Then, I stamped again – with the leaf pointing DOWN – in stamped-off-once Garden Green!

Y’all – this two-step stamp set is so fun – and you’re going to be able to pick it up for FREE during Sale-a-Bration 2024 (SAB 2024) with a $50 (before shipping & tax) purchase!

I stamped the sentiment from Softy Sophisticated in Pretty Peacock ink.  Then – I embossed the panel in the BUNDLED Softly Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder.

THIS bundle is also going to be available for free – this one is a $100 Level choice.  But – it comes with the stamp set AND embossing folder!

I matted the panel on Sweet Sorbet and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the whole watermelon from Watercolor Melon in Garden Green ink.  Then I stamped over it again – this time with Lemon Lime Twist ink.  Tip: that added some “life” to the image and made it look even more “real”!  I punched out the image with the Modern Oval punch (available right now – you don’t even have to wait until January!). 😎😎😎

I also stamped the half and wedge shaped watermelon slices – these in Sweet Sorbet ink.  I added the “rind” in Garden Green with the coordinating stamp in the Watercolor Melon set.  Then I stamped seeds in stamped-off-once Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I pulled out my Paper Snips and cut out the two slices.

I adhered the wedge to the card front with Liquid Glue then popped the whole melon on with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The half-slice is adhered with one Dimensional and a little Liquid Glue.

I added a few Blooming Pearls – in Pretty Peacock, Garden Green and Petal Pink – and the card front was done!

For the inside, I ran the Watercolor Melon leaf up and down the side of a Basic White panel in Lemon Lime Twist and stamped-off-once Garden Green ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Sweet Sorbet mat and then into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got some more watermelon leaves on the front…

…and a little more Pretty Peacock Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think the Watercolor Melon set is just too much fun – I love the “rind” – and when you line it up you automatically get that white part that no one wants to eat! The second free goody – the Softly Sophisticated bundle (with the stamp set and 3D Embossing Folder!) is really perfect – and even MORE so when you consider that it’s going to be FREE! 😳😳😳
