Good morning and Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day! We’re getting down to the wire here, folks! Today, the Man goes to the groomer – need to get all the tangles out and any extra hair. His camping vacay includes a pool, so…hoping to not have the nightmare tangles that happened the LAST time! Fingers crossed! Tomorrow I go to MY groomer to get my hair cut. We. Are. Getting. Close! 😳😳😳
My card today is one of my favorite fun folds – a quick and easy easel! I used a new stamp set that caught my eye from the jump – the Bird’s Eye View set. It is SO stinkin’ cute! And – being an image-only set, it needs a sentiment, and the Handmade Hugs set has one of my favorite sentiments. Take a look-see:
I selected elements from the Festive Friday Inspo List to help me out. I’ve got Die Cutting, Easel Card and Gingham! 🙂
And my fun color palette is from the Just Us Girls color challenge.
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Lemon Lolly card stock that I scored at 5 1/2″ and 6 3/4″ on the long side. I folded both score lines in the same direction (as valleys).
For the easel itself, I used a piece of Berry Burst cardstock and stamped it all over with the book image from Bird’s Eye View in Berry Burst ink for a tone-on-tone background.
I cut out the largest Nested Essentials rectangle from a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the Handmade Hugs sentiment in Berry Burst. Next to it, I stamped the totes-adorbs owl from Bird’s Eye View in Basic Gray.
He got a pair of spectacles in Lemon Lolly. And I used a Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker to sketch in some “ground” under him.
Using a banner die from the Nested Essentials, I cut out a piece of Berry Burst Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP and a Lemon Lolly piece of Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP.
I adhered the two banners to the panel with Liquid Glue.
I popped the sentiment over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A few Berry Burst gems from the new Tinsel Gems Four-Pack finished off the card front/easel.
For the inside, I matted a piece of Basic White cardstock on Berry Burst and adhered it to the inside of the card base.
I matted more of the Berry Burst Glorious Gingham DSP on Berry Burst cardstock and adhered it to the bottom of the panel.
The easel stop is the next-to-smallest Nested Essentials cut from a piece of Basic White. I stamped the Handmade Hugs sentiment in Berry Burst and the book image from Bird’s Eye View over the top in Lemon Lolly – and added another Tinsel Pack Four-Pack gem.
I popped the easel stop on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I wanted a little sumpin-sumpin on the top of the panel – so I stamped the Handmade Hugs curly-do in each corner in Lemon Lolly.
Using Liquid Glue only on the end panel of the card front, I adhered the card front to finish off the easel! Easy peasy!!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Handmade Hugs curly-do in Lemon Lolly in the bottom corners on the front…
…and another little bit of Berry Burst Glorious Gingham DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Easel cards are like the easiest fun folds EVER! I love them! And – I guess it’s pretty obvious why the Bird’s Eye View set caught my eye – it’s adorable! Wouldn’t it be AWESOME for a graduation card?!? 🙂
Handmade Hugs coordinates with the Handmade Tag punch which carried over into the new catalog. I just really love that “Sending Hugs and Stuff” sentiment – but there are several others – plus cute little images to play with, too!
They came to play and brought some Glorious Gingham with them! I LOVE gingham paper and this is an entire PACK of it! WOW!
