Stampin’ Up! Buffalo Ride with Me Itty Bitty Christmas

Good morning and Happy Sunday.  Hope your weekend is going great!

I finished my tree-decorating.

I put the skirt around the base, slapped my hands together and declared it “GOOD”!

Decided that sticking all the ornaments on was…sort of pointless.  It’s the lights I really like the best – and…there’s only like two weeks left before it’d be time to undecorate.  So…  I went real Clean-and-Simple this year!

Of course – I haven’t put the ornaments bin away yet….these things take time.  And – I might change my mind. 😉

If you were able to join me last night for my facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your Christmas-prep time with me!  If not – but want to see how to make today’s card – check out the instant-in-the-same-way-that-PONG-was-a-“fast”-video-game replay…

Fair warning – either FB or my internet or some combination thereof was glitchy as could be last night – so…the video comes in two parts – and the BOTH have sound issues.  My apologies in advance.

Part 1 shows you how to do the Triple Time with the Buffalo Check background stamp and the Stamparatus!

Part 2 finishes the card – the end will be sort of a Silent Movie.  But…no music! 🙁

I’d had a card twirling in my head for a bit – ever since I saw the current Card Concept inspiration photo and I finally got it down in cardstock and ink.  I pulled out the Buffalo Check and Ride With Me stamp sets from the Annual catalog and the Itty Bitty Christmas set from the 2019 Holiday Catalog to make it come to life.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s the photo from The Card Concept that inspired it!

This is sort of a triple time card – that I made using the Stamparatus – and a temporary adhesive dot runner do-hickey that a lovely lady gifted to me when I was at Brian King’s Fall Stamping Event in November.  I think it’s kind of like this one.  I used it in conjunction with my Stamparatus Deluxe Foam Mat – you can really see what I’m talking about on the video!

I started with a full card-front size piece of Whisper White that I positioned in the Stamparatus and stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink with the Buffalo Check background stamp.

The next layer is a smaller piece of Whisper White.  Using the repositionable glue-dot runner, I adhered it temporarily in place on the foam mat in my Stamparatus.  Then I stamped IT with the Buffalo Check in Tuxedo Black.  By doing this – the design lines up perfectly – and there are no ink-gaps!

I matted both pieces on Poppy Parade mats with Liquid Glue – then popped the smaller panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I ran a length of Poppy Parade 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon around the card front – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I stamped the Ride With Me sentiment in Poppy Parade on the smallest piece of Whisper White.  Then I added the Christmas tree in Shaded Spruce and the truck in Tuxedo Black.

I used my Shaded Spruce and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs to color the tree and the truck; I colored the door handle with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I matted the panel on Poppy Parade and popped it onto the card front with more Dimensionals.

With a short piece of Silver Metallic Thread (the color doesn’t really matter since it’ll be covered up!), I tied a snug knot around the Poppy Parade 1/2″ textured Weave Ribbon just next to the sentiment panel.  I tied a small bow and popped it over the top of my thread knot.  The thread pulls the ribbon together and helps to make the “faux” bow more convincing!  A Shaded Spruce gem from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewel finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added a perfect sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set in Poppy Parade on a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped the Ride With Me tree in Shaded Spruce in the corner, and added another Shaded Spruce gem from the Holiday Rhinestones.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Shaded Spruce Ride With Me Tree on the front…

…and on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Okay – this turned out EXACTLY how I was picturing it in my head!  And – not gonna lie – I LOVE it.  The Black-White-Red color scheme is so country-Christmas-y….I think it works perfectly!  And the Buffalo Check background stamp made it easy – especially with the Stamparatus!  Ride With Me added just the right bits to bring it all home!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

You can’t even see that there’s a miniature geriatric panther under the tree.

THERE she is!

Look at the disapproval on her face…

Where the HE-double-hockey sticks is my tree skirt?!?

She’s a bit of a tyrant.  But…

…it works for her! 😉

Love love the card. It fits perfectly with the challenge and is a winner in my book!
My tree looks kinda like that but i did add a few of Mama’s crocheted ornaments to mine. It makes me happy and sad. My kitties love the tree skirt the best too.
    Merry Countdown!

I know this will be a tough one for you, Karen – my thoughts are with you for happier days. I know your Mama and husband are watching over all of you. Thank you so much for the kind words! 🙂

Lovely card and lovely tree… I like just the lights…

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Bernice – that’s a Costco special! We’ve had it for a few years now – and it never disappoints. I’d leave it up all year-round if I could….is that weird?? Thanks!

      • Bernice P

Not weird at all… I love the tree.. and there were years were I was so busy at work that the tree was up until St Patrick’s Day ( hubby not too happy about that .. he would have gladly taken it down but I didn’t want him to .. knowing he would not give the ornaments the same TLC I did when I took them down).

        Happy Holidays!

      • stampsnlingers

Oh – I’ve done that, too, Waited WAAAY too long to get it taken down! Thanks, Bernice -and Merry Merry Christmas! 🙂

  3. Katy got what she wanted. Your tree looks beautiful without ornaments. Save that time for stamping…lol! I love your card but I don’t have that set. I do have the Buffalo Check so I’ll try the technique. Can’t wait to see the video. Sorry I couldn’t join you last night. Have a wonderful day. It’s 64 here this morning and we are loving it!

    • stampsnlingers

Your weather sounds lovely! 🙂 Our video was a bit of a hot mess – as you’ll see if you catch the replay – plagued with technical difficulties! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  4. Faith Simpson

I was involved with wrapping and tag-making and was late to the party….then I realized there were issues on your side too….but I LOVE the card….definitely a favorite!
Your tree is beautiful just with the lights, Mary….unless Katy needs them on there to play with.!!

    • stampsnlingers

No – she’s long past the ornament-killing stage. She just likes to rub her face on the branches! Thanks, Faith – so sorry for all the issues! 🙂

  5. Such a cute card! Bummer on the video issues last night, but glad that we could still see you! 🙂 Pretty tree! That’s my kind of Christmas decorating…the kids feel like your kitty does so I have to pull out all of the ornament boxes! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

I hear that. It sort of hurts ME to not put up all the ornaments. But… 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  6. Elisha Smith

SUPER cute card, Mary! I love it! And I love your clean and simple tree👍😉
