Stampin’ Up! Blossoming Hanging Garden for the Stamp Ink Paper # 143

Good morning!  It’s Tuesday – which means it’s time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!

I’ve got another Twist and Pop-out card for you today – I told you I would! 🙂  Today’s version, though, is a much different look!  I used Wood Textures DSP and the Sale-A-Bration Blossoming Basket bundle (you’ve got 5 more days to get this gorgeous bundle for free with a $100 purchase!) and the lovely Hanging Garden stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.  Take a look-see:

Our Stamp Ink Paper challenge #143 is a theme this week – hope you’ll come play along!

For the front, I borrowed a sketch from the Sketch Saturday challenge.

I’m not going to go over the steps and pieces and parts for creating the twist and pop innards for this card.  I’ve added the video tutorial on my Tutorials Page – you can check it out right here!

For the front of the card, I first embossed a piece of Wood Textures DSP in the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF and matted it on Calypso Coral for the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Blossoming Basket image and a butterfly in Crumb Cake.  I colored the basket with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends and the flowers with Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Blends.  I added a little Calypso Coral and Old Olive for the berries and leaves.  The butterfly is colored with my Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers.

I added faux stitches with my Crumb Cake Marker, matted it on Calypso Coral and then to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Hanging Garden stamp set in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla and snipped banner ends.  With Tear & Tape Adhesive, I wrapped a length of Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon (part of the free 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon Pack from the SAB flyer) around the card front.  Then I adhered the sentiment with Liquid Glue.  I colored a White Perfect Element with my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and stuck it on.

To finish the card front, I tied a double-length little bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.  Then I Fast Fuse’d it to the front of my Daffodils Delight card base.

And now – the fun part!

As you can see, I used more of the Wooden Textures DSP for the top and bottom liners.  On the top, I stamped the adorable butterfly image from the Hanging Garden stamp set several times in Crumb Cake and colored them with my Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker.

For the “book” panels, I stamped some Crumb Cake Hanging Garden images and colored them with Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers.  Butterflies, stamped in Crumb Cake, are colored with my Pool Party Marker.  The sentiment, from Hanging Garden, is stamped in Calypso Coral and then I added a stamped-of-once Crumb Cake basket over top.  The fourth panel is simply a piece of Delightful Daisy DSP.  All are matted on Calypso Coral.  I used my Crumb Cake Marker to add the faux stitches.

I stamped the Blossoming Basket image again on a piece of Very Vanilla and added another Hanging Basket sentiment.  It has two lengths of the Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon adhered with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Then it’s adhered to the Wood Textures panel with Fast Fuse.

And that’s pretty much it!

On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added more Hanging Garden butterflies in Crumb Cake and Pool Party…

…and I gave the envelope flap the Wood Textures DSP – and more butterflies (I really really love this image!)

Et Voila!  Watch the video to see how to do the only hard parts of this fun-fold card (and they’re not that hard, y’all!).  And then add the beautiful Blossoming Basket and Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF and the wonderful Hanging Garden stamp set images – and….you get a whole new look from yesterday!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Monday was Doggie Day Camp day for the Finn-meister!

On the way there, he sat oh-so-quietly in the back seat, staring contemplatively out the window.

Now – here’s a question.

My goal from the first days of his arrival was for him to sit oh-so-quietly in the back.  Staring out the window – optional.

So – why, when he did it on this drive…did I spend much of the drive worrying that he was worrying about where we were going?  Why was I sure he was dreading going to Doggie Day Camp?

There’s really no pleasing me!

Anyway – my concern was alleviated the instant we made the turn onto the road where Camp is.

He.  Went.  Berserk!  Leaping around on the back seat – hurrying from window to window.  He was SO ready!!

He wiggle-butted his way in – and they took his leash and started to lead him away!

I said – let me get a picture for his fans.  He turned….

…and said….what?  You’re still here?  See ya tonight, Mom.  Don’t let the door hit you in the wiggle-butt on your way out!

And he was gone.  Wiggling all the way. 😉

  1. Love that fun fold design! Your inside panels look amazing! Yep, Finn is a typical kid…done with you the minute that you drop them off somewhere fun! 🙂

  2. Rebecca L Rich

Like the card. The combination of colors is so springy and happy. Love your writing and your wit and interpretation of what Finn is thinking. In your spare time you could write a hilarious book about the adventures of you and Finn!

  3. I agree wholeheartedly with Rebecca…you need to write a book of essays with pics of the adventures of Wiggle-butt Finn. Oh, and yes, I like your card VERY much. I need to carve out some time to CASE this!

    • Hmm. A book of essays….that might be doable! 🙂 Thanks much, Karen – hope you get to CASE it soon! 🙂

      • Susan K

(I can help you with the publishing of your book when you get to that stage! I have some experience there now!)

      • LOL! I know you do! Thanks for the offer. May very well take you up on it when I decide the “other” job has to go! 🙂

  4. Kate

    Pretty card.
How we fret…when they “get it” . So far haven’t found any place Clara would rather go, but the options are few.
Maybe 10-12″ wet snow. Beautiful and more than a little welcome.

    • That’s good news for fire season, for sure! Finn’s always up for anything! Anywhere. Any time! Actually – the more the better! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  5. Pat Christ

Wow! That’s not just a card, it’s a masterpiece! Your tutorial is great, you explained the process so well.
Finn is so funny. I can almost hear him think “What?! You want to take a picture right now? I have places to go and pups to see!” Wish he could have a play date with Bella and me, but it would be a rather lengthy drive.

  6. Joanna M.

Wow, this is quite a card! I love all the folds and that fun embossing on the front. Thanks for joining in the Sketch Saturday challenge. Good luck in the draw!
