Stampin’ Up! Pedal Pusher Number of Years Anniversary

Happy Sunday, y’all! Today. Was. Spectacular! It’s really trying to be Spring in the South – which means it’s going to be in the 30’s next week! But for today – the real harbingers of spring are springing! I’m talking about the Dogwood trees, of course!

They’re one of my very favorite trees – and they’re dotted all over our property. When they bloom, they look like those white fairy lights that folks put up in the trees in their yard. Only – we don’t have to put them up or pay for electricity! They’re just beautiful and I’m always hopeful to be home when they’re blooming – so….yeah! 🙂

Today’s card, as promised, is an Anniversary Card. Our friends celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Friday – so I wanted to send them a card. Okay – it’s a little late, but…I didn’t know it until late on Friday. So….

I thought the tandem bike in Pedal Pusher was a perfect focal point and I also wanted to use the Large Number Framelits. So I did – and added in a little Timeless Textures and Timeless Love! Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sky’s The Limit Sunburst Congrats!

Happy Saturday! Today’s share uses a stamp set that’s not so much available – Sky Is The Limit. I try really hard to not use retired and discontinued things, but the card I made – the reason for the card! – just needed the images and sentiment that I used. You’ll see why in just a second!

I made this card to give to a young lady who just graduated from Delta Flight Attendant training. She’s Chris’ girlfriend – has been for a long time! – and so is definitely part of the “family”. We went over and had a celebratory dinner with her, and her parents and grandparents (and Chris’ parents, of course) last night, so I wanted to give her a card. Cuz…duh.

So – I needed an airplane. Sky Is The Limit was the only one I had. Easy decision! I added a Sunburst Thinlit die cut, and a couple of sentiments from the Sale-A-Bration set called Perfect Pairings. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Grateful Bunch Honeycomb Easter Lamb Four Panel Fun Fold

Good Friday morning to you! This week has flown by! I had a great time in Huntsville this week. Well, the work part was….tedious….but the rest of it was awesome! I had lunch twice with my friend Matt – one of the very wonderful young men who I’ve told you about this past year. He’s living in Huntsville – his brother Chris is up at UGA at Vet School! I’m so darned proud of them both – couldn’t be more so if I’d birthed them myself. They’re growing into just outstanding human people!! 🙂 Matt and I had a really good time. Definitely something to look forward to for future visits there.

For today, I have a card to share that’s a reprise of a four panel fun fold that I did a week or so ago. It’s going to be a quick explanation of the “fold” part – I’ve got the specifics over on my Tutorials Page! 🙂 This one uses the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set (Sale-A-Bration), Easter Lamb and Birthday Blossoms stamp sets. Stampin’ Up! Party With Cake Birthday Wishes!

Good Monday morning to you!

I don’t know about y’all – but my wakeup call on Sunday was rough. I woke up – you know, to visit the facilities…and when I checked my phone for the time, fully expecting it to be around 3 am – was horrified to discover it was already 6:20! Pitch black outside. I still felt like I needed to be asleep – and yet, it was time to get up! 🙁

But.

Man taketh away sleep….and God giveth a little gift…

This was my view on Sunday morning as I sat on the porch at the barn, drinking my second cup of coffee, on one of the most spectacular mornings we’ve had all year. The birds were singing and the squirrels were….squirreling. I was waiting for a bright blue animated Disney butterfly to come flitting by.

Well, no animated butterfly. But it was still a pretty wonderful moment! 🙂

So – today’s card is quick and easy and fun! It uses the cool Party With Cake bundle which includes the Party With Cake stamp set and the Birthday Pop-Ups Thinlits! We made this card at our quarterly Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Meeting! Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms and Bouquet For You

Mornin’, y’all – hope you remembered to spring forward! If not – go spring ’em. I’ll wait.

Better now? No? Yea – hard to be better when you just instantaneously lost an entire hour of your Sunday! 🙁

I did not get as many cards done today as I’d planned. There was breakfast and laundry. And lunch. And the duck incident. Then a few hours of card making. Then dinner. Then the horses….

Oh – the duck incident! So, I’m making a card and I stand up to go to the Big Shot. Out the window, I see there’s just a heck of a commotion in the pond. I hurry into the kitchen to get my glasses so I have a half a shot of seeing what the heck is going on – and I see there’s two mallards just a fussin’ away. I mean – they were going at it!

I ran out to the golf cart and raced around the house – and start hollerin’ at them – threw a rock…nothing. Okay, the rock didn’t go very far, but still. Normally, if you even look in their direction they’re gone. But not today. So, I raced back around the house and found Wayne and we went all the way out to the pond. That’s when we see that there’s also a hen. Apparently, the two males were interested in….well. You know.

That poor hen – she kept going under the water to get away from them – that’s why we didn’t see her right off the bat. And she stayed there for a long time. Do ducks swim under water?!? She was finally able to get to the bank, where the two boys rather sheepishly joined her. They all spent quite a bit of time fluffing and preening and quacking at each other. And pretending that that hadn’t just happened. And then they all left.

I have but one word.

Men.

Whether they walk on feet with toes or webs…. 😉

But my reaction to the two duck dudes doing what duck dudes have done since God made ducks….well, that’s why I don’t keep chickens. Or sheep. Or anything that can’t take pretty good care of itself. I get a little whack when that fighting and trying-to-kill-each-other crap goes on. Wayne might have been laughing at me just a little – to his credit he hid it well!

So. Anywho! The third card I made is the one I’m sharing with you today. It’s a super simple single stamp set card! And it features the Birthday Blooms stamp set and the oh-so-gorgeous Birthday Bouquet DSP. You’re going to see that a couple more times this week – I just got another pack in and I’ve kind of gone crazy with it! This DSP and stamp set – well, I hope it goes forward to the Annual Catalog. This and the Grateful Bunch Bundle! 🙂 Anyway, take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Large Numbers Balloon Celebration Birthday

‘Sup, y’all? I hope that you’re getting ready for a fun and relaxing weekend! I’ll be busily trying to get ahead on cards for the week – I’ll be out of town Monday thru Thursday! And, for these short trips, I don’t take supplies and tools – I’m always so tired at the end of the work day that I don’t even have the energy to stamp. 🙁 I have to take cards ready to blog (oh – and I need their pictures with me, too!). So….busy weekend! But that’s a good kind of work, yes? – stamping and making cards. Poor pitiful me! 😉

Today’s card is a birthday card. For a little boy who’ll be turning one in a week. Yes, I said one.

I’m pretty sure he’s going to have zero appreciation for this card. Heck, he probably won’t even care about his present. Maybe he’ll eat cake? Ice Cream? What do one year olds even eat, besides baby food?!? Well, that’s for his parents to worry about – just like this card is really for his parents! 😉

I used the fun Large Numbers Framelits and its matching and bundled stamp set called Number of Years. I added a few Balloon Celebration balloons and pulled out some Cherry on Top DSP. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Friends & Flowers Easter Bunny

Good morning – Friday morning! Another weekend approacheth! And this weekend signals the return to Daylight Savings Time! Yeah!! The days will start to get longer – I love DST!

Before we dive into the card for today, I wanted to show you a quick pic – of my two little fur-kids!

That’s Leo glaring at the camera – and that’s his sister, Katy, curled up with him in their favorite chair. Why is this a great picture? Because just a few days ago, Leo was hissing and spitting at his sister – like any time she walked into the same room! Apparently, she smelled of THE BAD PLACE! (That’s the vet…) And he DID. NOT. LIKE. IT!

Apparently, she’s now smelling more like his sister again and so he’ll allow her to be in his space once again. Peace is restored. All is right in the fur-kid world!

Now, on to my project for today. As we get closer to Easter, it seemed like a good idea to make an Easter Card. Duh! And the Occasions stamp set called Friends & Flowers seemed like the way to go. I added in a little Flowering Fields and….take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sunburst Over the Rainbow and…Blog Candy!

Yep – that’s my somewhat confused Christmas Cactus. That picture was not taken at Christmas. Nope – it was taken this morning! It’s going a little bit crazy. Apparently it’s on a Euclidian calendar. Or a Martian calendar. Or…something! Cuz it didn’t do such a great job blooming at the Christmas that we all just observed! 🙂 But, I admit that I love it – I think it’s just one of the prettiest things around and I haven’t been able to kill it yet – it just gets all gorgeous in spite of me!

So – in honor of its blooming beauty and insistence that it simply must be Christmas somewhere….I’m giving away some blog candy! Read on down and I’ll tell you what you need to do to get entered!

Today’s share is my first attempt at using the Sunburst Thinlit. I’ve tried a few times and just not been successful. I have no idea why – it just kind of bamboozles me! But today – I think I got it! I added a very apropos sentiment from the Over the Rainbow stamp set (Annual Catalog) and some pretty Wildflower Fields DSP. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Get Well Melon Mambo Soup!

Well, it’s happened again. Monday! Back to work…

It was a most beauteous weekend – Wayne’s got 3 of the 4 veggie beds done. We opened windows and enjoyed the warm day – right up until some neighbor decided to burn last Fall’s leaves! 🙁

And I made some cards! One of them is ready to hit the mail at the very next sign of a flu outbreak! Or just someone having a case of ADR. That’s vet-speak for Ain’t Doin’ Right! But it could surely be

…wait. On the tv right now is a lady who own 55,000 pairs of salt and pepper shakers! That’s 110,000 shakers (you’re welcome). Oh. My. Lord! Her husband has built lighted glass-front cabinets all over their house. And he’s added more house to put cabinets more in. Makes me tired just looking at it.

…sorry. Anyway. ADR. Usually a diagnosis for animals – but could also be applied to people, yes? So – if you know someone who’s got a little ADR or even something more concrete, take a look at Get Well Soup! This is an ala carte (one stamp) stamp in the Annual Catalog.
