Happy Sunday, y’all! Today. Was. Spectacular! It’s really trying to be Spring in the South – which means it’s going to be in the 30’s next week! But for today – the real harbingers of spring are springing! I’m talking about the Dogwood trees, of course!
They’re one of my very favorite trees – and they’re dotted all over our property. When they bloom, they look like those white fairy lights that folks put up in the trees in their yard. Only – we don’t have to put them up or pay for electricity! They’re just beautiful and I’m always hopeful to be home when they’re blooming – so….yeah! 🙂
Today’s card, as promised, is an Anniversary Card. Our friends celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Friday – so I wanted to send them a card. Okay – it’s a little late, but…I didn’t know it until late on Friday. So….
I thought the tandem bike in Pedal Pusher was a perfect focal point and I also wanted to use the Large Number Framelits. So I did – and added in a little Timeless Textures and Timeless Love! Take a look-see:
I was seriously “feeling” Spring, so the colors definitely reflect that! Of course, it helps that I was playing along with the Just Us Girls Color Week Challenge #335:
I picked So Saffron, Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder to represent the three colors.
I started by making the focal art. I wanted to heat emboss the Pedal Pusher bike, but I wanted it to be in Wisteria Wonder. So….I inked the stamp with Versamark Ink and then with the Wisteria Wonder and stamped it on a piece of Whisper White card stock. Then I sprinkled it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up. Voila – Wisteria Wonder heat embossed image!
The heat embossing made it easy peasy to color the bicycle – which I did with my So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Markers. I also used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color the parts of the bike that I think of as being metallic. To ground the bike a little, I used the Clear Wink and picked up a little Pink Pirouette ink from the lid of the ink pad and colored lightly under each wheel.
I stamped the little basket in So Saffron ink on So Saffron Card stock and then fussy cut it right quick. It’s popped on the front of the bike with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, I SNAILd the panel to a Pink Pirouette mat and set it aside.
The card front is just a Whisper White panel that I stamped all around the edge with the grungy image in Timeless Textures, in So Saffron, and then sponged the edges with a little more of the Saffron ink. In the top corners, I added a So Saffron floral image from Timeless Love. Kind of made my own Designer Paper!
Speaking of making Designer Paper – for the Large Number Framelit die cuts, that’s just what I did! I used Pink Pirouette card stock and then stamped the flower image from Number of Years – in Pink Pirouette for the stems and leaves and Wisteria Wonder flowers. Then I cut the numbers with the Large Number Framelits and edged them with my Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to add them to the card front.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a short length of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon across the card front. Then I adhered the Pedal Pusher panel over the ribbon – using some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the top and bottom of the panel and Liquid Glue in the center.
The sentiment is from Pedal Pusher, stamped in Wisteria Wonder. I surrounded it with a So Saffron banner from Number of Years and then cut it with the matching die in Large Number Framelits! I gave it a quick edging with the Gold Wink, put a little Dimensional on the bottom half and Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue on the top and added it to the Bike panel.
I made a bunch of little hearts with my Hearts Border Punch, in all three of my primary card colors. Then I edged each of them in Gold Wink. I adhered them with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals!
I ran the Gold Wink Brush around the entire edge of the card front, matted it on Pink Pirouette, and that was it for the card front.
On the inside, I used another panel of Whisper White, and repeated the Timeless Textures in So Saffron. The sentiment is from Timeless Love and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder. Finally, I added a few more Gold-Wink-Edged hearts with little dabs of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.
Before SNAILing it to its Pink Pirouette mat, I edged it in Gold Wink of Stella. Then I SNAILd it into a Wisteria Wonder card base, popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that was it for the card!
For the envelope, I stamped more of the Number of Years flower image – with So Saffron for the stems and leaves, and Wisteria Wonder flowers on the front of a Medium Whisper White Envelope…
…and then I made a little more Mary’s Designer Paper for the liner. Using a leftover piece of White Envelope Paper, I stamped the floral image from Timeless Love all over it – and then cut it with my Envelope Liner Framelits!
Et Voila! 61 years is pretty darned amazing so I hope this brings a smile. Don’t know if they ever rode a tandem together, but…maybe! 🙂

What a cool card Mary! Your image is perfect for an Anniversary and the stamping around the edges is fantastic! Great design. 🙂

Very nice! Never too late for beautiful wishes on such a momentous occasion!
Thanks! 🙂
Love the dogwoods……do you have any redbud trees? I think that is what they are called. We did some workcamping when we were full-time RVers in VA & I always loved the woods when those 2 trees bloomed……..so delicate & beautiful. 61 years is a LONG time…….congratulations to them.
Hmmm – I’m not really sure about the redbuds. We have another kind of tree that gets little purple flower all over it. Wouldn’t think that’s a redbud…. full time RVer’s, huh? We’ve sure talked about doing that, too! Thanks, Karen. 🙂
Yep, we had a 31 ft. fifth wheel & just followed the good weather for 10 years. If you didn’t care for the weather you just pulled up & moved on…….I loved it. The year the stock market sort of crashed we decided to workcamp. We would work 3-4 months at various campgrounds for our camping site……some places would pay a wage as well……but when my parents became ill & needed help we came home to care for them……but it was a wonderful experience. You meet some of the nicest people on the road & many are dear friends to this day & we still get together with them here & there, even if we have to motel it now. Do it if you ever get the chance!! This country is beautiful, scenic & people-wise!!
😊 sounds like a fun 10 years!😊
Perfect card for the anniversary couple! Love it!
