Stampin’ Up! Party With Cake Birthday Wishes!

Good Monday morning to you!

I don’t know about y’all – but my wakeup call on Sunday was rough.  I woke up – you know, to visit the facilities…and when I checked my phone for the time, fully expecting it to be around 3 am – was horrified to discover it was already 6:20!  Pitch black outside.  I still felt like I needed to be asleep – and yet, it was time to get up! 🙁

But.

Man taketh away sleep….and God giveth a little gift…

This was my view on Sunday morning as I sat on the porch at the barn, drinking my second cup of coffee, on one of the most spectacular mornings we’ve had all year.  The birds were singing and the squirrels were….squirreling.  I was waiting for a bright blue animated Disney butterfly to come flitting by.

Well, no animated butterfly.  But it was still a pretty wonderful moment! 🙂

So – today’s card is quick and easy and fun!  It uses the cool Party With Cake bundle which includes the Party With Cake stamp set and the Birthday Pop-Ups Thinlits!  We made this card at our quarterly Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Meeting!  Take a look-see:

This card started out with a piece of Melon Mambo card stock to which I SNAILd a strip of Mint Macaron card stock.

The vertical element is a fun piece of designer paper from the It’s My Party DSP Stack – matted on Basic Black.  And it’s simply SNAILd over the Mint Macaron rectangle.

The sentiment is from the Party With Cake stamp set – I inked it with Versamark and stamped it on a strip of Basic Black card stock.  Then I sprinkled it with  White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and gave it a shot with the Heat Tool.  To make the banner end, I used my Banner Triple Punch.  The banner is popped onto the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A couple of It’s My Party Enamel Dots finished it up!

The inside of the card is where the real party happens!  Using another panel of Melon Mambo, I scored it down the center, and then lined up the Happy Birthday die from the Birthday Pop-Ups Thinlits Die set.  These dies have a handy little pointer on them that tells you exactly where to place the die on your card stock  – just line it up with the scored center of your panel – to get the right result!

I ran it thru the Big Shot (the Magnetic Platform really helps to keep it exactly where it needs to be!).  Then I just gently folded the pop-up opposite the card fold…. and used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the inside of my Whisper White card base.  The trick here is to get the glue close to the edges of the cut-out portion – but not on it! – that’s the secret sauce to making this card…well…pop! 🙂

 Once that was in place, I used some It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape along both sides and the inside of the card was done!

I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and all that was left to do was decorate a Medium Whisper White Envelope.

On the front, I ran several strips of the It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape – instant color gratification….

….and I used another piece of the candle-strewn It’s My Party DSP Stack, cut with my Envelope Liner Framelits, on the inside of the envelope.

Et Voila!  Easy peasy, nice and breezy!  Love how easy these Birthday Pop-Up Thinlits are.  I made another card a while back with it – if you don’t remember it, check it out here! 🙂
