Stampin’ Up! First Sight For The New Two

Good morning – I hope that you’re enjoying your week! It’s almost over. Be brave!

This weekend, my best friend is getting married in Nebraska. My hubs and I aren’t going to be able to get there for it – and I’m sad about that. But, it is what it is, and I know she understands why. As a consolation prize, I’ve made her a batch of chocolate dipped Espresso Chocolate Chip Biscotti. Which she asks me for every time I see or talk to her! Their wedding invitation said “No Gifts” (this is a second marriage for them both) but I figure cookies isn’t really a gift….right? 😉

And – of course, I made her a wedding card!

Stampin’ Up! Botanical Easter Cross

Good Easter morn’ to you all! Rejoice in this day! 🙂

I have an Easter Cross card to share today – but it’s a bit of a cautionary tale! It could be titled: Check Supplies Twice Before Beginning. Or: Always Finish Your Card Front First. And the main character in this decidedly NON-fiction tale is….Gold Foil. You’ll see why shortly!

I used several flower makers for this card – the Botanical Builder Framelits, Petite Petals punch flowers and Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack flowers. And I went back to the In The Meadow stamp set. Just a reminder – this set is in the Occasions catalog – and is only guaranteed active thru the end of the sale period – 31 May. Which seems like a long way away – until you realize it’s practically APRIL! Can you even believe that?? So if you’re wanting this lovely stamp set, get it soon!

Stampin’ Up! The Wilderness Awaits In The Meadow!

So – I love when someone asks me to make a card for them to give to someone special. For me, it means that they really care enough to not want a cookie-cutter card from the grocery store aisle. And that’s cool. I also really like it – a lot! – when that request gives me an excuse to buy a new goody! Like the card I have to share with you today.

My friend has a friend who’s been in the hospital – in and out – for the past several weeks. A long time! He’s a “dog guy” – I made the leap that he’s a “hunting dog guy” – since those are a lot of the kinds of folks she knows. So she wanted a card with a dog and the outdoors.

Sadly – I had yet to purchase the The Wilderness Awaits stamp set. I’ve been so busy acquiring Occasions catalog sets and bundles that I kept pushing that down my list. So now was the perfect opportunity! Once it arrived, I paired it with the In the Meadow set – which did come from the Occasions catalog and I very much hope makes it into the next Annual! I added a few of the great sentiments from Greatest Greetings and….take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Rose Wonder Watercolor Beautiful Blessing

Happy Friday! I’m peering at you thru the miasma of yellow-green-pine-pollen-plogged eyeballs! The world has become a yellow fog here in the South. Just about the time the temps rose back into the I-want-the-windows-open range, too. But you just can’t do it – or that crud will be all over everything. So…we hunker in our “air tight pollen resistant” houses and glare resentfully outside. Waiting. Waiting. Hoping there’ll be a few days – weeks would be better – between the end of Pollen Season and the start of Hot Humid Season.

And keeping the rescue inhaler in the pants pocket! 🙂

So, today’s card is a spring-y card, again (no, I didn’t use any yellow embossing powder….), that uses the Rose Wonder Suite – which includes the bundled Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Garden Thinlits! And I did a little watercoloring today with my Aqua Painter. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Botanical Builder Hello

Hey, y’all – welcome back. Glad that you could stop by on this Wednesday – Hawp Day! I have a confession to make to you. Yesterday I told you that I pretty much never run out of Pearl Basic Jewels. That was sort of a fib. I didn’t realize it was a fib until I went to make today’s card. When I got to the point where I needed to find my flower centers – they were pretty much begging to have Pearls in them! – I realized just how dire my circumstances had become.

Oh, I knew my supply was low – especially in the area of the tiniest of the pearls in a pack. I have none of those left. Nary a one! I have a smattering of medium sized ones and hooked-together straight strip ones. And tons of giant ones – cuz of how I seldom use that size.

So Monday – when I ordered the fringe scissors – when they were on sale – I grabbed a couple of Pearl Basic Jewel packs. Yes, of course I did, since they went on sale the very next day! 🙁 Not to say I won’t put in another order – I need those teeny tiny seed pearls! But, I hate missing a sale. I mean – I’m perfectly willing to spend $20 on pearl packs just cuz I can save $1.25 a pack. Aren’t you? 😉

Anywho – I decided to use the large pearls on this card – I hope they don’t look too awfully clunky to you! I used one of the new Annual Catalog DSPs – well, it was new last summer, anyway! – the Bohemian DSP. And I combined it with some flowers from the Botanical Builder Framelits and a greeting from the Greetings Thinlits. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Circle of Spring Garden

Well, it’s Monday again. Funny how this day just keeps rolling around. One second it’s Friday night and the weekend seems like it’ll last forever…and the next, you’re sitting with a cat on your lap, balancing a laptop on a furry purring body, writing about Monday. Whaaaaaaaaat???

It was colder than a well-digger’s lunch bucket here today. Temps were in the 50’s but the wind’s just a blowin’ a gale! Brrrrrr!

I know – you click on this post each day just hoping and hoping for a weather update from Fayetteville, GA! 😉

So, even though it’s freezing outside, it’s also quite beautiful – partly cloudy with enough sun peeking thru to make it spectacular. Which means that making a card for Spring was just the right thing to do! I dove back into some of my not-so-brand-new stamp sets for this one…Circle of Spring gave me my focal point and sentiment, and the lovely Garden in Bloom contributed the oh-so-cute honey bee.
