Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
With our theme this week, I thought the gorgeous Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder was a perfect starting point. And I’ve been wanting to use it with the Joseph’s Coat technique so…today’s the day! A couple of sentiments and die cuts from Scalloped Blooms and a floral from Boutique Blossoms finishes the job! Take a look-see:
And – here’s our challenge! You can see why the Floral Spray folder was a good pick!
I started by embossing a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock in the Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder. Just a note: this folder is backordered right now, but is expected back in early August. 🙂
Using Small Blending Brushes, I colored the DE-bossed side (so – the side where the pattern is indented in the cardstock, not the raised side). I used Peaceful Pine for the leaves, Crisp Cantaloupe for the large flower, Golden Glow for the medium flowers and a little Hydrangea Hue for the small bell-shaped flowers!
I matted the panel on a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Golden Glow cardstock. Then I wrapped a length of Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine three times around the matted panel – securing it on the back with Mini Glue Dots.
I tied a bow from two lengths of the Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Scalloped Blooms sentiment in Golden Glow ink and cut it out with one of the pretty scalloped label dies in the bundled Scalloped Blooms die set.
I popped the sentiment over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies – in Hydrangea Hue, Golden Glow and Barely Blush.
I popped the card front onto a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and the card front was done!
For the inside, I stamped a second Scalloped Blooms sentiment in Golden Glow on a piece of Basic White cardstock. In the corner, I stamped a Boutique Blossoms flower outline in Early Espresso ink. I inked the fill image in Crisp Cantaloupe and tap-tap-tapped it with the Small Blending Brush before stamping it over the outline image. Then I added a 2026-2028 In Color Butterfly.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Pecan Pie card base, adhered the card front with more Liquid Glue and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Boutique Blossoms flower in Early Espresso and tap-tap-tapped Crisp Cantaloupe on the front…
…and the Boutique Blossoms leaf in Early Espresso and tap-tap-tapped Peaceful Pine on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Isn’t that Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder gorgeous?! The large design is a perfect choice for this Joseph’s Coat (or black-out!) coloring technique! Add some sentiments – and the pretty die cut label – from Scalloped Blooms and that’s all you need! Inside, I added the florals from the coordinating Boutique Blossoms stamp set – a handy “match!, right?!
I hope you like!
