Happy new week, y’all! Hard as it is to believe – we’re approaching the end of JULY already! Wow – crazy how fast the year is going by! SO fast, in fact that, tomorrow -I’ll be doing my Demonstrator Pre-Order from the Sept-Dec 2026 Catalog and Sept 2026 Online Exclusives! I’m not gonna lie – it’s a great catalog and I am really looking forward to getting my mitts on the new goodies!! 😉
Today’s card, though, is…a reprise back to the fun Birthday Song stamp set – and some tropical Beach Boardwalk DSP – to make a cute…well…birthday card! Take a look-see:
The layout for this card was rather loosely inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.
And I took inspiration from the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Photo.

I started with a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of the Beach Boardwalk DSP – that I’d trimmed to center the palm trees – that I matted first on a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic Black card stock. Then I matted it a second time on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock to make the card front.
Using the largest square Stylish Shapes die, I cut out from a piece of Barely Blush Sunset Shimmer Vellum Specialty Paper.
I adhered the square to the card front – tipped up as a diamond – using Liquid Glue just across the center – where it would be hidden by the fussy cut Birthday Song image.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the sea lions from Birthday Song in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Using a Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend – I colored all the way around the image. Then I went over that coloring – on the top half of the image – with the Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend.
Then I took a deep breath – and cut out the image with my Detail Scissors.
I adhered the image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped just the top part of the Birthday Song sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die.

I added seven Petal Pink Pearlized Faceted Circles and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the bottom portion of the Birthday Song sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Basic White panel. Below it, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in black. I added the clap-clap-clap image twice in Bubble Bath ink and “hey” a few times in Fresh Freesia ink!
I adhered the panel to the inside of my Bubble Bath card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Birthday Song clap-clap-clap and “hey” on the front…
…and more of the Beach Boardwalk DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Well – the flamingos were darling, the Sea Lions are darling and the sentiments are super fun! That means that…the Birthday Song stamp set is a perfect choice for anytime you want a cute and fun card to send for someone’s birthday! You could use so many of our papers with this set – but the Beach Boardwalk DSP is a pretty great fit, don’t you think?!

2026 BACK TO SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAYS!
NOTE: ALABAMA AND PUERTO RICO ARE GOING ON RIGHT NOW!
Thirteen states – plus Puerto Rico! – will have Sales Tax Holidays for school supplies in July and August and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states! According to state statutes, “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes” are eligible. And – this includes select Stampin’ Up! products! BOOM!
The states with upcoming tax holidays are: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts**, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio**, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Puerto Rico. So, if you live in one of those states or Puerto Rico, take a second to download the sheet below and mark your calendar! NOTE: The table on the left shows the states, their dates, and the limit. **MA & OH Special Note: Unlike the other participating states, Massachusetts and Ohio are not limited to the products listed in this document. How Exemption Limits Work: Sales tax will not be applied to qualifying items priced at or below the exemption limit specified for each state. There is no limit to the quantity of qualifying items that may be purchased, provided each individual item does not exceed the applicable state limit.
Please note: You have to place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (so – that’s from MIDNIGHT local time on the first day to MIDNIGHT local time on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday and the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
For those wondering about Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey and Wisconsin, those states will NOT have the sales tax holiday this year. Whaawaaaaa…. 🙁
