Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Fold Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see! This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!! How cool is that?!?
We’ve got the cutest new stamp set coming in the July Online Exclusives (available 1 July) – it’s called Birthday Song and it was inspired by the fun birthday song that Stampin’ UP!® folks sing to each other at the home office! I used it – and some Beach Boardwalk DSP and Spotlight on Nature dies (both available right now) to make today’s super simple birthday fun fold. Take a look-see:
And – this card was inspired by the inspiration board at the Four Seasons challenge for June!
I started by scoring a 4 1/4″ x 7 1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock at 3″ and folding it to make the card base.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a 2 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Beach Boardwalk DSP (palms for the front and suns for the inside) on the front and back of the narrow front panel.
On the inside, I adhered a 1 3/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of the sun-strewn Beach Boardwalk DSP on the outer edge of the inside of the card base. On a 2 5/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White, I stamped the clap-clap-clap sentiment from Birthday Song (available on 1 July) in Flirty Flamingo ink.
I added the music score image a couple times in Daffodil Delight ink. Then I adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.
For the front, I stamped the fun trio of flamingos in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I colored them with the Light (left and right birds and all the legs) and dark (middle bird with his wings) Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.
I outlined the image with my Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend – and then cut it out with scissors.
Using the largest crimped-edge Spotlight on Nature die – I cut out a Basic Black circle. Using the next-to-largest petal-edged circle die, I cut out a Daffodil Delight circle. I adhered them together with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the fussy cut birds to the Daffodil Delight circle.
I stamped the Birthday Song sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die. I stamped the music a couple times in Daffodil Delight ink and then adhered it with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using Liquid Glue only on the left part of the matted circle, I adhered it to the front flap of the card base, making sure to not get adhesive over on the right side (or…it’s all gonna stick together and nobody wants THAT!).
I stamped the thought bubble from Birthday Song three times in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Basic White – and added the “hey” in Flirty Flamingo. Then I cut them out with my scissors.
I adhered the three little sentiments with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got clap-clap-clap and the music on the front…
…and more Beach Boardwalk DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This fun fold – short front flap fold?? 🤷♀️ – is so stinkin’ easy that you can spend your crafty mojo on decorating it! And – the new Birthday Song set really shines as the centerpiece! I love how it worked with the Beach Boardwalk DSP – like they were made for each other! Spotlight on Nature is a super cool die set that you’ll find in the current catalog – and it’s a great one to have on your shelf! 🙂
