Which was a VERY clever way to segue into today’s birthday card! 😂 It’s got some Waterside Retreat DSP and some die cuts and sentiments and grasses from the coordinating Relaxing Waterside bundle. ALL part of the Waterside Retreat Suite – coming to you on 5 May in the new May-Aug 2026 Catalog. Take a look-see:
I started by adhering a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Waterside Retreat DSP to a Peaceful Pine mat. Now – Peaceful Pine is NOT a color listed for this DSP but…to me it works really nicely with the Pool Party and the Lost Lagoon in the set.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered two 3″ x 4″ pieces of the Waterside Retreat DSP onto the card front.
Using the dies in the Relaxing Waterside bundle, I cut out a chair and one of the two chair-backs from Misty Moonlight cardstock. I also cut out a SECOND chair and the “arm-rests” from Golden Glow cardstock.
I use Liquid Glue to adhere the chair-back to the chair and then the Golden Glow armrests. Using a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the chair, I adhered the Golden Glow front panel to the Misty Moonlight chair. Tip: check the video to see how to do that! 🙂
I cut out three Old Olive and three Pecan Pie cattails. I snipped off the tops of the Pecan Pie die cuts and adhered them to the top of the Old Olive die cuts with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of the Waterside Retreat DSP I stamped the large grass image from Relaxing Waterside in Peaceful Pine ink and cut it out with the coordinating die from the set. I added a little Golden Glow to the grasses with the Light Golden Glow Stampin’ Blend.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the grass and cattails to the card front. Then I adhered the assembled chair with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a 3/8″ x 1 7/8″ piece of Pool Party cardstock, I stamped the Relaxing Waterside sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink. I snipped a banner into each end and then adhered it to the chair with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the two gull images from Relaxing Waterside in Crumb Cake ink. I used a Blender Pen to “pull” the color a little and then cut them out with the dies in the set. Then I adhered the gulls with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some Crisp Cantaloupe 2026-2028 In Color Dots (coming on 5 May in the new catalog) and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Relaxing Waterside sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink on a Basic White panel. I chose to make this one a birthday card – but it would ALSO be perfect for a Father’s Day card – and there’s a sentiment for that, too! Then I added the grass image in Peaceful Pine and the gull in Crumb Cake inks.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Pool Party card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Relaxing Waterside grass in Peaceful Pine on the front…
…and more of that wunnermus plaid Waterside Retreat DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh my – this is just a wonderful suite! The Waterside Retreat DSP has ALL the beautiful colors – soft, watery colors just itching to make their way onto your card. PLUS the scenes to use as card fronts – the easy fussy cut nautical images – and that plaid. LOVE! The coordinating Relaxing Waterside bundle is going to be a solid go-to for any and all masculine cards – birthday, Father’s Day, retirement! – as well as cards for pretty much anyone! Truly a work-horse for your card making needs!
