Stampin’ Up! Bright & Beautiful Racing By Birthday Card

Hello hello and welcome back to the work week!  Hope you had a great weekend – and that your week will be easy and productive.  Or – relaxing.  Depending on where you’re at in life! 😂

My card today is a fun birthday card – suitable for a young ‘un or a young ‘un-at-heart! – using the Racing By stamp set and some Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

I started by adhering a full panel of the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP onto a Bubble Bath mat.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a narrower panel of a different design from the DSP pack to the bottom of the card front.

I adhered a narrow strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock across the “seam” using Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the outline of the race car from Racing By in Misty Moonlight ink.  I added the flames fill image in Fresh Freesia ink.  Bubble Bath seemed to be just right for the driver’s helmet and the cool, custom hub caps. Go, Speed Racer…. 🏁

Using the #8 Deckled Circle die…

…I cut out the car with the car a little closer to the top of the circle than to the bottom.  As you can see from the pictures – I sliced off the bottom of the circle using a Paper Trimmer – leaving about 2 1/8″ of the die cut.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the partial-circle to the card front.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Racing By sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.  I matted it on Bubble Bath cardstock.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Racing By flag – once in Misty Moonlight and once in Granny Apple Green ink.  Then I cut them out with Paper Snips.

I adhered the flags to two narrow strips of Granny Apple Green cardstock.  I adhered the Misty Moonlight flag with Liquid Glue – then added the Granny Apple Green flag with Stampin’ Dimensionals under the flag and Liquid Glue on the “flag pole”.

I adhered the matted sentiment over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three Bubble Bath Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the Racing By flag three times in Misty Moonlight ink in the corner of a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel on the inside of my Granny Apple Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Racing By flag in Misty Moonlight on the front…

…and more of the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Whether you need a card for a kid – or for a kid at heart! – give the Racing By stamp set a look-see! The fun images offer lots of opportunity to make cards for…anyone on your list!  And – the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP is so fun and – dare I say it?! – bright AND beautiful! – that you’ll pull it out again and again!

Finn Fan Fix

Something Wayne SOMEtimes forgets…..

When you do something with Finn ONCE – especially something he LIKES – you’d best be prepared to do it again.

And…again…

…hope he plans to be in the house today – and the next day – and the next…when Finn wants his dinner served to him “in bed”.

Good thing he’s not spoiled at all.

🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
