Stampin’ Up! CAS Softly Sophisticated Flight & Airy Hello Card

Good morning, y’all!  We had a typical GA winter day yesterday. You know.  Sunny.  No wind.  Almost 60!  LOL.  It was great!!

It’ll probably be 25 and sleeting tomorrow! Who’s to say?

Certainly not the weathermen.  I’ve stopped even looking!

Now – my card today is…so Spring-y!  AND – totally clean and simple.  Making it a record-breaker.  For those of you keeping track that is TWO CAS cards IN A ROW!!

What in the world is going on?!? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Anywho….it got it’s “Spring” from the stunningly beautiful Flight & Airy DSP.  And the Softly Sophisticated bundle brings the simple sentiment AND the pretty embossing on the front panel.  And these products have a BIG thing in common – they’re both FREE right now! Take a look-see:

The inspiration for this came from the Hand Stamped Sentiments theme challenge.

And the layout was inspired by the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge!

Are you buckled up?  Cuz…this one is FAST!! 🙂

I started by embossing a panel of Basic White cardstock in the Softly Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder – which is bundled with the stamp set of the same name – and is available for FREE with a qualifying $100 purchase during the Sale-A-Bration 2024.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to a Soft Sea Foam mat for the card front.

Next, I used the largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut out a circle from one of the gorgeous designs in the Flight & Airy DSP.

The Flight & Airy DSP pack is ALSO a free product during Sale-A-Bration 2024 – this one with just a $50 qualifying purchase!

I adhered the die cut circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using two lengths of Linen Thread, I tied a simple bow and adhered it to the die cut circle with a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Softly Sophisticated sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.

I cut out the sentiment with a Stylish Shapes banner die and adhered it over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three small Brushed Brass Butterflies and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the Softly Sophisticated stem and leaves in Soft Sea Foam in the corner of a Basic White panel. I stamped the flowers in Fresh Freesia ink.  Then – cuz they’re pretty AND nice and flat! – I added a few more Brushed Brass Butterflies.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Sea Foam panel and into my Misty Moonlight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Softly Sophisticated flowers on the front…

…and another piece of Flight & Airy DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So – FREE is one of my very favorite prices and BOTH of these items fill that bill perfectly!  What a happy bonus that the Softly Sophisticated bundle (free at the $100 level) and the Flight & Airy DSP (free at the $50 level) are ALSO gorgeous!  BOOM!

Finn Fan Fix

Have you found…Hot Cocoa Skinny Pop?

Sadly (for me!) WE have!

It’s yummy – and not a whole lot worse in calories than REGULAR Skinny Pop!

It gets two thumbs from me.

And…

Four paws up from…whoever is in that bag!

Good to the last lick!

Love, love, love your card! The clean layers are perfect and the sweet bird is so pretty. Poor Finn…always stuck getting just the crumbs. I’m sure that he’s starving. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Amy! In THIS case – he really only got ESSENCE! His piggy mom ate all the crumbs!! 🙂

  2. Michele Herrick

What a beautiful spring card, Mary! I really like that paper.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Michele – it is really gorgeous paper! 🙂

  3. Karen Finkle

This is lovely. Not only are you terrific at collages, you’re quite good at CAS. I didn’t know Skinny Pop came in flavors. Are you serious about 60 yesterday? 9″ of snow fell upon my new abode. This morning it is 15 and precipitating again. Time to head to the craft room and read all day! Have a blessed one.

    • stampsnlingers

Nope – was totally serious. It was 60 yesterday. Today it’s freezing (literally) and rained overnight! Had to pry the mailbox door open to stick the mail in this morning – it was frozen shut. So – QUITE pleasant! Winter in the real south, my friend (not that Florida version!!). Hope you and Chester stay warm! :). Thanks so much for the kind words. 🙂

  4. Charlotte Hutcheson

Really nice, light and airy card…simple and easy to duplicate. Thanks, charlotte

  5. Melody Buchanan

Please please please be careful about popcorn and chip bags… dogs can suffocate in them! I love Finn very much

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Melody – I love him, too! And he’s never alone with a bag – he gets it long enough to lick ALL the essence out – and for me to get a photo. Then it’s up and gone! 🙂

  6. Gail S.

Right now I’m into keeping it simple, so I can stay tucked under a warm lap blanket and this card certainly fits the bill, and is so pretty! I made hot cocoa chocolate cookies to put on our cookie plates—-definitely will have to find this hot cocoa popcorn. Thanks for sharing (both the card and the info about the popcorn)!

    • stampsnlingers

It’s yummy! And – yep – I’m spending a lot of time huddling and cradling hot drinks! Already ready for summer!😳. Thank you so much – hope you WILL make some of these! 🙂

  7. Love the elegance of this card – a great take on both of the challenges. Thanks for playing along with us at HSS again Mary

  8. Such a beautiful card! I love this DSP and I love that you embellished the front and the inside. Those Brushed Brass Butterflies are flat enough to safely put inside. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yes they are – I LOVE those embellishments! :). Thanks, Leah! 🙂

  9. Patti

So simple and yet so effective and lovely! Thanks for joining the hand stamped sentiments challenge this week!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Patti – appreciate you stopping by!! 🙂
