Stampin’ Up! Monochrome Inked & Tiled Botanicals Just a Note Card

Good morning, y’all!  Hope you had a great weekend.  We stayed pretty close to home – well, actually, we stayed AT home! 😂😂 It was too hot to really get too excited about doing anything that involved going outside.  We DID do a little gardening on Saturday morning – tomatoes and squash needed to be supported so…needs must, right?!?

My card today is one that isn’t a normal “Mary” card – in that it’s a Clean and Simple card.  It IS a Mary card in that it uses one of my favorite stamp sets – the Inked & Tiled set – and the coordinating Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

And the soft, fairly monochromatic color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started by adhering a piece of paper from the Inked Botanicals DSP onto the front of a Lost Lagoon card base using Liquid Glue.  Tip: be sure to make note of the up-down orientation on your DSP! 🙂

On a smaller panel of Basic White, I stamped the two leaves images from Inked & Tiled.  The larger image is in full-strcngth Lost Lagoon.  I used stamped-off-once Lost Lagoon for the second image.

I matted the panel on Crumb Cake using Stampin’ Seal and then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a strip of Crumb Cake, I stamped the Inked & Tiled sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink.

I snipped an angle into each end of the strip and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a small bow from Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little dab of Liquid Glue.

Finally, I added some vanilla Classic Matte Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the two leaves images from Inked & Tiled in Lost Lagoon and stamped-off-once Lost Lagoon on a Basic White panel.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and then into the Lost Lagoon card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Inked & Tiled leaves on the front…

…and more Inked Botanicals DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I find myself reaching for this Inked & Tiled stamp set and the gorgeous Inked Botanicals DSP over and over!  And – it wasn’t even one that I was all excited about when the Annual Catalog came out.  But I sure have grown to love it – and am pretty sure you have, too! 🙂

  1. Such a pretty card Mary! Love the colors and the layering is perfect. 🙂 Yeah…that does look like an okay way to spend the day! Finn does have it pretty rough. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

He does. He really does. It’s a sad sad thing, indeed. Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Even though it isn’t a typical ‘Mary’ card, I do like this. I like it so much that I just made 10 copies of it! Thanks for sharing. These are for the Eastern Star project for veterans that I mentioned to you some time ago. Crunch time, so making 10 at a time. These are still pretty, but a bit less time consuming than some of the others I have done.

    • stampsnlingers

Oh – I think they’ll love them, Julie! And shows they’re easy to make! Thanks so much! 🙂

  3. Kate

    Very pretty!

  4. Jacquie

Love the simple elegance of this design, Mary! Thanks for playing along with us at FMS this week.

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you so much, Jacquie – and thanks for stopping by! 🙂

  5. A monochromatic beauty! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Amy – I appreciate you coming by! 🙂

  6. Gail S.

Sometimes your brain is just too busy with everything else going on and you just want to go to your “sanity” place and regroup. This is exactly what is called for at those times and could be used for so many occasions. Thanks so much!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Gail – it DOES feel exactly like that! 🙂
