Stampin’ Up! Fresh & Cheerful as a Daisy Friendship Card with Video Tutorial

Mornin’, y’all!  Hope your weekend is going well!  We did spend some time in the garden yesterday morning – I mean… it was ONLY 80 at 9am so…

We planted three kinds of lettuce in Kratky bins and they’re busy germinating.  Those will stay inside under lights for their whole lives – hoping to actually get some lettuce without the bugs having their way with it!  And we got some more ancho pepper plants started (I hope!).  Those will go in the garden in a few week (again – I HOPE!).  And then – we retired to the AC!  Where Finn had stayed the whole time – being a lot smarter than his parents!

So – my card today is a summery number featuring the Cheerful Daisies bundle and some Fresh as a Daisy DSP with a Copper Clay background.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Global Design Project sketch challenge!

I started by adhering the big-floral paper from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP on Pretty Peacock for the card front.

On a smaller piece, I stamped the Cheerful Daisies sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

When the embossing was cool, I adhered the panel to a Pretty Peacock mat and onto the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut out two of the large floral dies from the Cheerful Daisies die set in Basic White cardstock. Using Paper Snips, I snipped off the leaves.

I scribbled on an acrylic block with my Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write Marker and used a Water Painter to pick up ink and color the snipped leaves.  Then I adhered them to some solid leaf dies cut that I’d cut from a piece of Fresh as a Daisy DSP.

Using the three detailed dies from the set, I cut out two each from Lemon Lolly cardstock.  Using the “branch” die – I cut out two branches from Balmy Blue cardstock.

I colored the middles of the white flowers using my Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend – then adhered the Lemon Lolly die cuts with Liquid Glue.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the two large florals to the card front.

I tucked the branches and leaves up under the flowers – using Liquid Glue to adhere them in place.

Then I added some Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the large flower from Cheerful Daisies in Lemon Lolly – using the same color for the outline, fill and flower center – on a Basic White panel. I added some little dots using the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pretty Peacock mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the large flower in Lemon Lolly and Balmy Blue on the front…

…and more Fresh as a Daisy DSP on the envelope flap.

Finn Fan Fix

Finn likes to vacuum in the stall.  JUST inside enough that he doesn’t get in trouble.

But JUST far enough inside to be in the way when I carry a big fork of hay thru the door to fill Cady’s hay net.

He OFTEN simply “can’t hear you, Mom” – when I tell him to move out the way.

Oops.

Hay happens. 🤷‍♀️

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the colors and those daisy die cuts are fantastic! Poor Finn…it is difficult to hear when you’re vacuuming. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

That IS true! And I think he had his Airpods on – listening to music! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. JudiH

Enjoyed watching you make this lovely card last night! Good luck on all your garden veggies.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Judi! Looking forward to seeing how they all turn out! 🙂

  3. Kate

He heard…was sure you said “move out the hay”!

  4. Susan K

Love this pretty daisy card and enjoyed watching you make it last night. On my ToCASE list! TFS. Finn feels the hay on the back is a good trade-off for being close enough…

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – it’s all about balance! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  5. Gail S.

I keep thinking I’ve seen all the ways this set/dies can be used—and then I see another one. It is so versatile, and SU’s DSPs are fantastic! Best part of the “hay fall” — the time spent together getting it out of that “coat”! Have fun!

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – getting that hay off was…”fun”! ;). Thanks so much, Gail – I’m glad you liked the card! 🙂
