Stampin’ Up! Earthen Textures Thanks in Peacock and Gold

Hey, y’all!  Happy Monday!  Can you believe that July is HALF over??  That means Bonus Days is already half over, too!  Have you been collecting and KEEPING your coupons?!  You really want to gather those up – August will be here before you know it and then it’ll be time to CASH THOSE IN!!  Whoo-hoo!!

Something you might want to add to your stamp and paper collection – assuming you don’t already have it – is the wunnermus Earthen Elegance Suite of goodies!  I used the beautiful DSP and the Earthen Textures stamp set and bundled dies to make my card today!  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

And the pretty color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge this week.

I started by adhering a piece of beautiful Pretty Peacock paper from the Earthen Elegance DSP pack to a Crumb Cake mat for the card front.  Then I added a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock with Liquid Glue.

Using the die in the Earthen Textures die set – I cut two of the geometric border pieces from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper – and adhered one to each end of the vanilla strip with Liquid Glue.

Using the grass die in the set, I cut two from Pretty Peacock cardstock and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

I cut two Distressed Gold “fronds” and a large Very Vanilla leaf.  Using my Paper Snips, I trimmed off all three stems.

I adhered the fronds to the card front with Liquid Glue – and the Very Vanilla leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using a dab of Liquid Glue, I adhered a simple bow tied from a length of Linen Thread.

On a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped the Earthen Textures sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and then cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die.

I added the sentiment to the card front with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some vanilla Classic Matte Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Earthen Textures fronds a couple times in Pretty Peacock in the corner of a Very Vanilla panel.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Earthen Textures fronds in Pretty Peacock on the front…

…and more of that beautiful Earthen Elegance DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my – I am so happy that the color challenge pushed me to use this color palette!  I love the Distressed Gold with the Pretty Peacock Earthen Elegance DSP, don’t you?!  It’s so elegant.  The sentiments in the Earthen Textures set are great – and I really like the font!  It’s just the best Suite!

  1. Such a pretty card! The colors are perfect, love that background paper! Poor Finn…he hardly gets to share in any of the deliciousness of whatever dinner is being served. 🙂

Thanks, Amy! And yep – he is FREQUENTLY deprived of the “good stuff”! 🙂

  2. Feel a CASE coming on…that is when I can get that stamp set AND dies. When I tried to order before I couldn’t get them. Beautiful card. And, I didn’t know those other words to the song. 🙂

This is really beautiful. The colors are gorgeous, but what really caught my eye was the geometric border piece on the vanilla strip— very nice addition. I’ll have to remember to try that with some of the other borders I have. Also, your narration of Finn the shark had me laughing first thing this morning— always a good way to start the day.
