Stampin’ Up! Scenic Wonders Let’s Go Fishing Birthday Card

Good morning again!  It’s 4th-of-July-Eve and I have the day off!

ROFL!  That’s funny cuz I’m retired so…they’re ALL off! 😉

How about you?  Is this a holiday for you?  I hope so!  Do you have plans for the 4th?  We don’t at this point – just keeping an eye on things – and animals! – as we listen to everyone celebrate in their own…unique!…way!

My card today is really easy to put together and features the Scenic Wonders stamp set – a DistINKtive set that has three main images and a few nice sentiments!  And I paired it with one of my favorite plaids – from the Let’s Go Fishing DSP!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

I started by adhering a piece of plaid Let’s Go Fishing DSP on a Copper Clay mat for the card front.

On a smaller panel of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the mountain image from the Scenic Wonders stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink.  Tip: this is a DistINKtive stamp set and it may benefit from some daub-daub-daubing with a Sponge Dauber.  The color you use and the juiciness of your ink pad will drive this.  If, when you stamp, you get a bunch of “spots” in the image – try inking the stamp – then using a dry dauber all over the image.  You can see that in the video I did! 🙂

I also stamped the cute little bird image a few times in Copper Clay ink.

Using the 4th-from-largest Stylish Shapes circle die, I cut a circle from the stamped panel.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the larger piece to the card front.

I used the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch to cut out a Copper Clay circle that I used to mat the Stylish Shapes circle.

I popped the matted circle back in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals – making sure to line the image up.

I tied a simple bow from a piece of Crumb Cake twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Scenic Wonders sentiment in Wild Wheat and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes label die.

I popped the sentiment over the bow with a few dimensionals – and some Liquid Glue.

Finally – I adhered a few Copper Clay Adhesive-backed Solid Gems and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Scenic Wonders mountain image in Mossy Meadow and some birds in Copper Clay on a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Copper Clay mat and then into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Scenic Wonders mountain and birds on the front…

…and more of the perfect plaid from Let’s Go Fishing on the envelope flap!

Et Voila! Oh my! I love this image from the Scenic Wonders set – and can’t wait to try out the others, too!  This is a really fun way to spotlight the image, don’t you think??  And – I love all the designs in the Let’s Go Fishing DSP – but…this plaid.  One of my fave favorites! 🙂
