Good morning and Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well – are you playing? Doing chores? Both!? I watched the Creativity Now event yesterday with Stampin’ Up! – and have some fun new ideas with products that you’ll see SOON (can you say…new Online Exclusives??) and I’ll be sharing some of them in the next few weeks. We have a new “drop” of the Online Exclusives on 6 July – so…I hope you’re excited!
Today’s card comes from the 2023-2024 Annual and features the returning Sweet Citrus stamp set and Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder. PLUS some new White Center Specialty Paper, that I embossed and sanded! Take a look-see:
I played along with the Global Design Project theme challenge this week.
I started by embossing a Night of Navy piece of new White Center Specialty Paper in the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder. Then I CAREFULLY and LIGHTLY sanded the embossed portions using a craft sander. Tip: this paper is thin so…be careful. Use a light touch with the sander – it’s very easy to tear!
When I’d exposed as much of the white center as I wanted – I adhered the panel to a Granny Apple Green mat for the card front.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a bunch of Flirty Flamingo Sweet Citrus flowers and Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party leaves. Using the coordinating dies in the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder, I cut out all the images.
Then I stamped the solid lemon three times in Daffodil Delight ink. The solid lemon is part of the large image in the set – but it’s easy to ink and stamp just the lemon.
Using the die – I cut out the three lemons. Then I placed them inside the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing folder in the full-lemon-spot, and embossed all three of them
I adhered the lemons, leaves and flowers using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals. The lemons and leaves with the Liquid Glue and the flowers with a combination of the two adhesives.
I tied a simple bow from two-lengths of Parakeet Party Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.
Then, on another piece of Basic White, I stamped the Sweet Citrus sentiment in Night of Navy and cut it out with the smallest Deckled Rectangle die. I adhered the sentiment over the bow using double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added a couple more small flowers to the sentiment with Liquid Glue.
I added Parakeet Party 2022-2024 In Color Pearls to the middle of the large flowers, adhered a few Brushed Brass Butterflies – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped another Sweet Citrus sentiment in Night of Navy and added some flowers in Flirty Flamingo! I stamped the little flower centers in Parakeet Party.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Granny Apple Green mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Flirty Flamingo and Parakeet Party Sweet Citrus flowers on the front…
…and a little Parakeet Party Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP (on sale for just ONE MORE WEEK!) on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Doesn’t this card just scream SUMMER to you?! I love this color palette. And I love the Sweet Citrus set – the images are so realistic and the fonts on the sentiments sorta perfect! The new White Center Specialty Paper really opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for your card making!
