Stampin’ Up! Merry Snowflakes & Peaceful Place Christmas Card

Good morning and happy Monday!  The last Monday in September.  Can you even believe it?? I’m having trouble with the idea that we’re headed into the last few months of 2021.  Crazy!

Even crazier??  Sale-a-Bration 2 is almost over – three more days is all that’s left and then…buh-bye free stuff!  Buh-bye FREE extra bundle just for buying a Starter Kit and starting to get a 20% discount on everything.  Seems like yesterday SAB 2 was kicking off – and now it’s almost over!

My card today is an easy one that would be a sweet addition to your Christmas Card list.  It used the Merry Snowflakes stamp set – bundled with the Stitched Snowflakes Dies.  And some pretty Peaceful Place Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch over at The Paper Players this week.

I started with some Peaceful Place Specialty DSP that I matted on Real Red with Stampin’ Seal for the card front.

I embossed a smaller Basic White panel in the pine bough folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders pack – matted it on Real Red – and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the smaller snowflake dies in the Stitched Snowflakes Dies (bundled with Merry Snowflakes), I cut three snowflakes from the bright silver paper from the Silver Foil Specialty Pack.  I used a Stampin Dimensional to adhere each of the snowflakes on the embossed panel – with the largest one in the center.

I stamped the sentiment from Merry Snowflakes in Real Red on a strip of Basic White.  I matted it on Real Red and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a slightly larger snowflake from the Silver Specialty Foil Pack and slid it under the end of the sentiment strip – adhering it with a little Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow from the White 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

A few Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels – one in the middle of each snowflake – and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel on the end of the sentiment strip finished off the card front. 🙂

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Merry Snowflakes in Real Red on a Basic White panel.  Over top, I stamped a couple of snowflakes in stamped-off-once Smoky Slate.  Then I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a few stamped-off-once Smoky Slate snowflakes on the front…

…and more of the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I love this monochromatic color palette with the pop of Real Red – I think it’s really cool and elegant for Christmas!  And it works perfectly with the Merry Snowflakes sentiments and Stitched Snowflakes die cut snowflakes!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Going to let you in on a little-known secret.

Your dog knows it.  My dog knows it.  In fact, ALL dogs know it.

Now – you’ll know it, too.

Ready?

Figments are semi-nocturnal.

Yes.  They sleep all day and much of the night.  As the sun makes its way up in the sky, they arise and begin their dastardly figmenting.

Thankfully, we’re protected by the Dawn Patrol.

Scanning Quadrant One.

Transitioning thru Quadrant Two.

All’s quiet for now, Boss.

He’s on duty until it’s full light when the figments return to their lairs. 😉

These are scary times, my friends!

Figments come to my house in the night too…I need a good guard dog like Finn! Cats are worthless at keeping Figments at bay! 😂

Nope – cats will tell you they’re there – but…then they just go back to sleep! Thanks, Susan! 🙂
