Stampin’ Up! Massive Thanks to a Wild Rose With Video Tutorial for The Paper Players!

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a Theme challenge from the talented Anne Marie this week and it’ll for sure jump-start your creative mojo!  I hope you’ll come and play along.  🙂

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

When I first saw the new Massive Thanks stamp set – I was pretty smitten with all the fun ways to express our thanks!  And the new Rainbow Glimmer Paper – just WORKS in the Wild Rose dies.  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Massive Thanks to a Wild Rose - Stamps-N-Lingers 1

And here’s this week’s Paper Players Theme challenge!  Hope you’ll join the fun and show us your projects!  I can’t wait to see what you create!

And I borrowed the layout from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

So – Rainbows and such aren’t really in my wheelhouse and I don’t have a ton of sets (or…any??) that fit that bill.  So….I was tickled silly when the new RAINBOW Glimmer Paper got here in time for me to make my card for the challenge.

I mean – it’s IN THE NAME – so…it totally counts! 😉

I started with a piece of Basic Black cardstock for the card front and used one of the Stitched Nested Labels dies to cut out a piece.  I used a larger die to cut a Mango Melody piece. Then I adhered the card front to a Mango Melody mat with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the Mango Melody die cut and then the Basic Black die cut with more Liquid Glue.

I stuck a piece of Whisper White card stock to a new Adhesive Sheet and then cut three flowers and three leaves from it using dies from the Wild Rose Die set.

Next, I pulled out some of the new and stunning!! – Rainbow Glimmer paper.  Y’all – this is so pretty, you can’t even believe it.  And – like all the “new” Glimmer Papers – the glitter STAYS ON THE PAPER!!

I used the Press-and-Seal technique (I watched Kylie Bertucci’s fun video – a bunch of times, actually! – to figure it out!) and cut three flowers from various color-spots in the Glimmer Paper.

Using Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the cut-out pieces to pieces of Basic Black cardstock.  Then I peeled the adhesive off the back of the Whisper White flowers – and added them over the top.

I used “regular” paper piecing to do the same for the leaves from Wild Rose.

Once all the pieces were adhered to Basic Black – I fussy cut them.

Using a combination of Liquid Glue and Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the white flowers and a couple of the Rainbow Glimmer die cut leaves – to the card front.

I stamped a cute sentiment from the new Massive Thanks set in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White and cut it with a smaller Stitched Nested Labels die.  This is adhered with stacked Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – and completed the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Massive Thanks in Bermuda Bay on a piece of Whisper White.   Using Liquid Glue, I adhered some of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper die cut flowers and leaves, trimming the excess with my Paper Snips.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some flowers from To A Wild Rose on the front. I inked the image with Mango Melody, then lightly sponged here and there with Magenta Madness.  I also stamped a Granny Apple Green leaf image…

…and did the same on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Okay – the beautiful Wild Rose dies are perfect for paper piecing – and…the new Rainbow Glimmer Paper is ALSO perfect for paper piecing!  I can’t get over how pretty it is!  And the new Massive Thanks stamp set – what a fun sentiment set, y’all!  Check out all the possibilites!

I love it!  And I know you will, too – so…I hope it’s on your shopping list!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Finn Fan Fix

Even though they look so similar….I think they must be adopted…

But they love each other.

I’m sure of it.

  1. There is no end to your patience on this one! It was an enjoyable watch last night and I ate dinner after you were finished. Katy is so sweet in that position. She and Chester could be siblings! …and Finn…as handsome as ever! Hope you got all your shares done.

    • stampsnlingers

She’s pretty good at getting into cute poses – like most of them, I think! I DID get them done – now to get the postage on them and make a quick trip to the post office! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  2. Wow, such a pretty card! Love the way you used that rainbow paper. Sorry that I missed your live last night! Completely spaced it off. 🙁 Sweet pictures of the brother and sister. 🙂

We missed ya, Amy!! Thanks so much! 🙂

Mary, would there be a chance that Finn would appear “live” in one of your Saturday Facebook Lives? I would love it:

    • stampsnlingers

Hey Karin – I might be able to persuade him to make an appearance, yes! It’ll involve some dizziness-inducing camera movement, but…we can do it! Thanks! 🙂

The colors really pop on the black background. Just awesome!
