Stampin’ Up! Carols of Merry Little Christmas Labels

‘Sup, y’all?!?  Don’t want to scare you, but…there are only 23 days until Christmas.

Serious.

Twenty.  Three.  Days.

Yikes!

Last week, in the spirit of Christmas, I made a few gift tags for y’all to make for yourself.  This was one of them….

I may or may not have mentioned that I was thinking on a card to follow along in this same vein.

So…I used the Carols of Christmas bundle (with the Card Front Builder Thinlits) and the Merry Little Labels stamp set.  Not for nothing – these are retiring sets – so…if you love them, get them now.  They’ll only be around until they’re gone.  Anywho – take a look-see:

I started with more of the Old Olive and Basic Black plaid paper from the going-away-soon Merry Little Christmas DSP and matted it on Basic Black.

To make the large label – I used the largest die in the Lots of Labels Framelits.  I wanted the label to be longer than the die would allow on its own, so I ran the Crumb Cake card stock about halfway thru the Big Shot – so that I only cut one end of the label.  Then I turned it around and finished the label by running the other end thru.

I added some faux stitches with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker and punched a hole in the top with my 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch.

I inked up the Merry Little Labels sentiment with Versamark and then covered all but the words and stamped it on the top of the label.  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin Emboss Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool.

I also heat embossed the stars and deer image from the Carols of Christmas stamp set in White.  With the stars and moon die in the Card Front Builder Thinlits, I cut out some stars and sparkles and adhered them to the top with little dabs of Liquid Glue.

Thank I ran a length of Jute Twine thru the hole at the top of the label and secured it with a couple of Glue Dots.  Then I popped the label onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut several of the pretty trees with the dies in the Card Front Builder Thinlits (boy, I will miss these beautiful trees!!) in Whisper White and used Liquid Glue to adhere two of them directly to the label.  The two single trees are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals (the tree on the left) and Liquid Glue/Dimensionals.

I used my thankfully-not-retiring favorite Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut some pine boughs from the Merry Little Christmas DSP and adhered them at the top with Liquid Glue.

To finish off the card front, I tied a bow from Jute Twine and attached it at the top with another Glue Dot.

On the inside, I used a Crumb Cake panel for the inner liner and added faux stitches with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I heat embossed – in White – more of the stars and the deer from the Carols of Christmas stamp set.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Crumb Cake card base.  Then I added another Whisper White Card Front Builder Thinlits tree with Liquid Glue, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple of the trees cut from the plaid Merry Little Christmas DSP on the front…

…and more of the plaid on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Merry Little Labels and the Carols of Christmas bundle are going away, y’all!  Like I said at the top – if you love them…get them soon, before they’re gone for good!  Hope you like!

That list contains all of the retiring and surplus items featured in the Year-End Sales Event.  Retiring products will no longer be available for purchase after January 2, 2018.  Make note:  some of the retiring items listed are bundles that won’t be available once the Holiday Catalog goes away – but the stamp set and/or matching dies will be around (just not for the 10% savings bundled price!) at least for a little while.  So – if those are on your wish list – now’s the time to snap them up and save.

CHANGE IN STAMPARATUS RESERVATION WINDOWS!!

YOU NEED TO READ THIS MESSAGE FROM STAMPIN’ UP!

The results are in! The first Stamparatus reservation window reached its maximum number of reservations in just 15 minutes, which provided us with some very important information: You LOVE this new stamping tool! We couldn’t be more thrilled; in fact, your response was so amazing that we’ve decided to make some important adjustments to the reservation process.
As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period we will take as many orders as we receive (yay!) and not close the window until December 30. So whether the total number of reservations is 100 or 100,000, the window will stay open!
Please note the following changes:
  • Beginning March 19, we will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Because shipment dates are based on manufacturing lead times, not all of the reservations made during the December 5–30 window will ship on March 19 (as was previously announced).
  • In order to accommodate demand, limits have changed as follows:
    • One reservation per customer and one per demonstrator.
    • Because we are not limiting the maximum number of reservations for the second window, we will not offer a third window. This is the last chance for you and your customers to reserve a Stamparatus before it becomes available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog.

Please note what has not changed:

  • If you reserved more than one stamping tool during the first reservation period, that number will not change; you will still receive the same number you reserved. If you reserved one or more stamping tool(s) during the first reservation period, you may still order during the second window.
  • The reservation window will open at 2:00 PM (MT) on December 5.

We can’t wait for you to get your hands on your very own Stamparatus and look forward to seeing the projects you’ll make with this incredible stamping tool.

I’ve got all the information over on my Promotions page – including a super little video with lots of information on this wonderful new stamp placement tool.  Be sure to check it out – peruse the how-to-reserve-your-Stamparatus tutorial you’ll find there, and then mark your calendar for the next reservation window on 5 Dec!!

Finn Fan Fix

So – y’all remember that Sunday is “card making day” for Finn.

Or – card making watching!

Based on the clues wafting to my nostrils whenever I hug the little Man – which is a lot – I think we might need to make a trip to the Puppy Tubs today.

I asked him his thoughts on the matter.

He didn’t need any words.

Anyone doubt his opinion??

  1. Beautiful, Mary, love that plaid and the creative way you did the label. So fun with those Christmas trees and deer peeking out!

  2. Lovely Christmas tag!

  3. Such a handsome face but I can’t really read what he is saying…but I can read how easy you make a beautiful card design come out of your creative mind. Love it!

  4. What a beautiful card Mary! Great use of that die set and paper…I’m pretty sad that set is retiring too! So did Finn or you win out on the puppy tub?? I’m guessing that I know the answer… 😉

    • Watch tonight’s blog post – you’ll see who won the discussion! Thanks much, Amy – but how fun is the new Occasions catalog!?! Can’t wait for folks to see it! 🙂

  5. Hey Mary. “My name is Beverly, and I am currently in Tag Purgatory.” I have gingerbread people running around with their Google eyes poppin’ out–can’t make them behave. Finally had to flat out glue down ballerinas to keep them from hitting on the gingerbread guys, and durned but the soldiers r now trying to get stamped so they can get into trouble!!! The life of a SU demonstrator has many challenges! Love your work, and your Awesome sense of humor at it all–sometimes that’s that gets us through. We can laugh at laugh, or just carry a troll hammer! Wishing u the best, Bev

    • LOL – thanks so much, Bev! Enjoyed your escapades with the gingerbread peeps!! Sounds like busy tag-times at Bev’s house! Good luck – and hope you get them all made! 🙂

  6. Kathy L

What a gorgeous card! I loved the tags, and now the card, wow! Lucky us!
I’m sure you must have told us sometime, but why does Finn have those long “tails” on his collars? And why two collars?

    • Thanks so much, Kathy! Long tails – those are hunting dog collars and my theory (with no factual data to back it up) is that the “tail” is a handy handle for hunters to grab their dogs! He has one – the green one – that has his tags. The other – orange – holds the electronic collar device. He only wears that one in the day. I HAD him a pretty blue collar for his tags – but…it had those hard plastic closures and he tore it off and lost it. So…ugly green one with metal buckles. 🙂

  7. Very pretty

  8. Susan K

Great idea for the labels. I love it! Have fun stamping. Hope Finn approves of the cards!

    • I know it’ll be a fun day – our meetings always are – and adding Finn to the mix should be a hoot! Thanks much, Susan! 🙂
