What’s Up at Stampin’ Up! for 13 Oct 15!

Well, when you read this today, I’ll be shuffling in the cattle-car line that is part-and-parcel of airline travel, on my way west.  Again.  Only for a couple of days – which means the pain-of-flying to work-accomplished ratio is pretty sucky.  If you do the math, you’ll realize that I got up at the Oh-My-God-Hiney-Crack-of-Way-Too-Freakin’-Early to get to the airport!  Also in the way of airline flying these days, I am blessed to have a window seat.  The good news is that there are at least 3 rows still BEHIND me…..  my return flight is much much better – way further forward.  And for that one, I’ll have the additional benefit of having a supportive and friendly person on either side of me.  I am quite blessed.

Please note – if you feel that the above narrative is not swimming in sarcasm, please seek professional help immediately.

😉

Anywho…..I’ll be home on Thursday.

Speaking of Thursday, don’t forget that we have a Happy Stampers Blog hop again.  So, expect my post to be a little later than usual – we’ll all go live at 9am Eastern!  This week is a sketch challenge…..  should be fun! Can’t wait to see what all the other ladies-who-hop come up with.

This Saturday is the Fall Craft and Vendor Festival at the Christ’s Church Whitewater  in Fayetteville, GA.  I’ll have a table and a fun make-and-take and maybe even some cash-and-carry items!  I’m doing a door-prize for a $25 gift certificate for Stampin’ Up! goodies.  On top of that, you can get your Halloween punkin’ while you’re shopping!  So – if any of you are reading this blog from the south Atlanta area, I’d love to meet you in person.  Here’s a flyer with all the info!

Stampin’ Up! Remarkable You and a Custom Envelope!

Well, it’s happened again.  Monday.  Amazing how fast Saturday and Sunday go by, isn’t it?

We did make it to the movie yesterday.  It was quite good – not as good as the book, but I don’t think they could have put all the science in the movie that was in the book. It would have been about a 6 hour mini-series!  But, we enjoyed it.  And, it’s never a bad thing when Matt Damon buffs himself up and then gives us a lovely glimpse of said buffness!

On to the card for today.  My newest stamp set acquisition is the Remarkable You set.  I bought it because I just love the floral images in it – especially the Easter Lily!  All the images in the card are from this single, beautiful set.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Grateful for Lighthearted Leaves!

Well, no Martian for us yesterday.  Planning on it today, for sure!  We did get to Costco – not to worry, they have a FEW things left!  Our “real” Costco was summarily changed to a “business” center (read – “faux Costco!) last year.  Now to get to the “real” one, we have to GO NORTH.  And it’s just about that traumatic that it has to be all caps!  It’s a significant emotional event for us on a normal day.  Add in rain.  Add in freeway construction.  Add in a couple of accidents.  The final tally yielded a day that was nightmare-fun-nightmare!  But, the difficulty getting there means that when we DO go….well.  We make it worth our while, if you catch my meaning! Let’s just say – it’s helpful to have a mini-van…. 😉

Anywho – today’s share is a Fall-y card that uses one single stamp from Lighthearted Leaves – and the “grateful” thinlit from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits dies.  And the glorious and wonderful Kraft Corrugated Paper!!  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! A Little Something Pillow Box Note Card Holder!

Welcome, y’all!  Happy Saturday – hope you’ve got something fun planned for the weekend and the weather to let you do it!  I think we’re going to make a trip to Costco, and I hope we’re going to go see Mr. Matt Damon in The Martian.  I read that book last week – I had to ration myself so it would last…very fast read and I was having fun with it, so I wanted to sit down and devour it, but I also wanted it to LAST!!  A conundrum to be sure.  Anyway – it’s excellent and if you get a chance to read it, I highly recommend that you do! 🙂

For today’s share, I have a note card holder for you.  We made a version of this at the World Card Making Day last weekend.  This is what we made….

A Little Something Note Card Holder - Stamps-N-Lingers

Cute, huh?  Well, I wanted to make a more Christmas-y one, and I wanted it embossed.  With my fave TIEF – the wonderful Woodland!  I put a tutorial over on my Tutorials Page, so head over and see the detailed instructions for making one of these little guys!  If you haven’t been over there, I’ve posted quite a few projects for you to take a look at.

Today’s note card holder uses, as I mentioned, the Woodland TIEF, the stamp set called A Little Something, some Home for the Holidays DSP and a few other little goodies.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Wreath and Peaceful Pines Wish for Peace

Happy Friday, y’all!  Thanks for joining us for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop yesterday.  I hope you saw some cool projects and learned a few fun techniques to try in your card making and crafting!

Today’s card share uses two beautiful stamp sets from the Holiday catalog.  Peaceful Wreath (although you won’t see any wreaths!) and Peaceful Pines (we’re just so danged peaceful this morning, huh?).  I’m on a bit of a don’t-use-red-or-green-in-Christmas-cards kick – don’t really know why.  Guess I’m just enjoying making things that are unexpected and having them just work!  So, take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Into the Woods and A Fun Fold for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop!

11960226_1268896359803603_8583437756952711798_n

Welcome to Week 2 of the Happy Stampers Blog Hoppers Blog.  Hop.  Wow – that was the Department of Redundancy Department, wasn’t it?!  We’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this week, so when you’re done here, please head over to their blogs to see how they interpreted the challenge for this week…

….which was a color challenge – we needed to use Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede and Old Olive.  Score!  Some of my favorite colors and so awesome together.  Kind of just cries out for some Into the Woods DSP, doesn’t it?

A while back I saw a card on Pinterest that had a really cool fold – called a Box Pleat.  I vowed to make a card with such a fun fold one day – and this is the day!  And, as I promised yesterday, I’m using another beautiful-font sentiment from the host stamp set called Six Sayings (there’s a little bit of Friendly Wishes thrown in, too).  And, of course, Into the Woods DSP.  And. in spite of the complicated-looking-but-really-easy-to-do fold, this is a clean and simple card!  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Six Sayings FaBOOlous Mummy Princess!

Happy Hump-Day!  I saw a card similar to what I’m going to share today on that oracle of crafty inspiration – I speak, of course, of Pinterest!  It was an adorable mummy.  And I thought it was so cute that I wanted to do my own twist on it!  It’s blatantly Halloween-y (sorry I said Weeny on the internet – no offense intended!).  I used the wonderful Six Sayings Hostess set for the sentiment.  I’m on a bit of a kick with that one this week – the card you see on Thursday (for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop!!) uses the same set.  Different sentiment – which tells you how completely versatile this Holiday Catalog set really is.

Anyway – it seemed that all the mummies I see out there are boy mummies!  Which makes no sense at all and is blatantly sexist.  I’m pretty darned sure that princesses died and got themselves all mummified.  And I’m pretty sure that when they did – they wore their pretty stuff.  I mean, a girl’s gotta look good, right?  No matter the circumstances.  So….take a look-see:

Yes, this Princess Mummy is even supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month! 🙂

Mornin’, y’all!  It’s Tuesday again, so that means Stampin’ Up! updates and new Weekly Deals.

Here’s a little bit of exciting news – if you host a Stampin’ Up! workshop between 9 Oct and 9 Nov, and have qualifying orders of $300 or more you’ll get an additional three percent in Stampin’ Rewards.  That’s more free money for you to spend buying anything YOU want!  Or – you can even put your Stampin’ Rewards “money” towards a Starter Kit and start getting big discounts on all your goodies! 🙂 Give me a holler if that sounds good to you and I’ll get you all hooked up.

Just a little tiny heads up…..in the same vein as stores putting Christmas stuff out before Labor Day….it’s time to let you know that we’re getting close to the 2016 Occasions Catalog launch!   The catalog will go live on 5 January 16!!  I’m not saying I saw a sneak peak of a few of the products at the WCMD last Saturday, but…. 😉  There are some awesome products!

Stampin’ Up! Mini Treat Bag Thinlit for Halloween – and WCMD!!

Happy Day-After-World-Card-Making-Day! 🙂 Hope you had some time to make cards in celebration.  Yesterday was wonderful at the WCMD 2015 Atlanta!  There were 100 card-making-geniuses (genius-i?) who attended at the Marriott up on the north end of Atlanta.  In spite of the rainy, gloomy day, spirits were high (there was a lot of “whoo-hoo!-ing”) and fun was had by every single person there.  Brian King and Pam Morris (and a bevy of folks to help them) did an awesome job putting on this day-long event!

Everyone started gathering up and finding their spot for the day.  There were old friends to see and new friends to make.  Got to meet folks whose blogs I follow – Mary Fish, Brian King, Amy Whelan….

My own upline, the uber-talented Amy Koenders was there with us – and there was an entire display board dedicated to her beautiful cards!  I pretty much told everyone that she was my “SU! Mom” (that’s what folks call their immediate upline – Grandma would be next up and so on). Lots of folks stopped to take pictures of all the beautiful projects on display.
