This has been a message from your friendly neighborhood Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator. We’ll now return you to our regularly scheduled blog post! 😉
I wanted a quick and easy Clean and Simple Card. So, I pulled out the Sheltering Tree swath image, a few pretty blue ink pads, and the Bold Butterfly Framelits. And this is what I came up with. Take a look-see:
This one’s so easy I bet you can already see how I did it, can’t you? Well, just in case…
I used Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo. The Sheltering Tree set is photopolymer, so it’s easy to line things up even without the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. I used a panel of Whisper White – and before I started stamping, I laid the small Bold Butterfly Framelit on the card to just sort of eyeball where to line everything up. Then I stamped the three images in their respective colors.
Next, I laid the Bold Butterfly Framelit across the stamped image and ran it thru the Big Shot to cut it out. Then I repeated that on the second color swath. And then…well, one more time! 🙂
Then I SNAILd the cut and stamped panel to another identically sized panel of Whisper White. Using small dabs of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered the butterflies back into the their colored spots – just using the glue on the bodies of the butterflies, so their little wings could stick up.
I SNAILd the panel to a Tempting Turquoise mat and then added a line of 4 Pearl Basic Jewels to each butterfly. And the card front was done!
For the inside, I matted another piece of Whisper White on Tempting Turquoise. Then I stamped the sentiment from Sheltering Tree in Basic Black Archival Ink in the center of the panel. Over that, I stamped the Sheltering Tree swatch again – in Tempting Turquoise. I stamped the image off once on scrap paper before I stamped over the sentiment.
I SNAILd the panel into a Whisper White card base and popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
The envelope is equally simple. I repeated the Sheltering Tree swath image on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope – repeating the color progression that I’d used in the card: Pool Party on the bottom, then Tempting Turquoise and finally Island Indigo…
…and then I added a liner from the striped Tempting Turquoise pattern in the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack, cut with my Envelope Liner Framelits.
Et Voila! How simple is that!? And how many different ways could you make this card? Maybe you could use purples, or yellows, or greens… Use a different sentiment inside – Sheltering Tree has “Thinking of You”, “Thankful for You”, “You Warm My Heart” – any of which could work in this kind of card. Have fun with it! 🙂
