Stampin’ Up! Falling For You for a Wedding

Happy Tuesday, y’all!  Back to work – hope your long weekend was relaxing.  Or productive.  Whichever you wanted it to be! 🙂  I got…part of my list done.  At least the Christmas tree is put away for another year!

I had some help card making today.

Those lips just crack me up!  I’m not sure what, exactly, he wanted right here.  Some form of attention, no doubt.  He got his picture taken, instead.

Okay – and I kissed his schnoozle.

How could I not?!? 🙂

The card he was trying to help me with is one I made as a contender to give to my friend for his wedding in February.  I used the new Falling For You stamp set and some Falling in Love DSP, with the So Detailed Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

My layout was – kind of loosely! – inspired by the sketch over at the Global Design Project.

And I used colors that I found in this week’s Cupcake Inspirations.

I started with a piece of the pretty Bokeh-inspired paper from the Falling in Love DSP, SNAILing it to a piece of Soft Sky card stock for the card front.

Then I started cutting out pieces for the art work and sentiment.  First I stamped multiple flowers from the Falling For You stamp set in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla.  Using a rubbing-alchohol-filled Aqua Pen, I filled them all in with Blushing Bride ink.  To add some depth, I added Calypso Coral with a Watercolor Pencil. Then I fussy cut them.  I also stamped a few leaves from the So In Love stamp set in Sahara Sand – and fussy cut those as well.

I used the detailed leaf die from the Stylish Stems Framelits and cut a couple of Gold Glimmer Paper leaves.  And, with the So Detailed Thinlits, I cut the middle “banner” from Soft Sky card stock.

Finally, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped the Falling For You sentiment in Sahara Sand on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I edged the banner with a Soft Sky Stampin’ Write Marker.

I started building the art – using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and simply adding the pieces one at a time.  After I adhered the So Detailed “banner”, I wrapped a piece of the new Gold 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon (free in the Sale-A-Bration catalog!) around the panel, securing it in back with scotch tape.  I wrapped another short piece around it and tied it in a knot on the right end of the card.

Once everything was adhered in place, I added a Soft Sky and Blushing Bride heart from the Subtles Enamel Shapes.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I once again used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second sentiment from Falling For You in Sahara Sand.  Over that I added a few more flowers in stamped-off-once Blushing Bride.

I SNAILd the panel to a Soft Sky mat and into my Blushing Bride card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

For my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added some Falling For You flowers and So in Love leaves in Blushing Bride and stamped-off-once Sahara Sand…

…and added more of the Falling in Love DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Falling For You is a beautiful stamp set – love the little flowers and the beautiful fonts of the sentiments.  And it has Anniversary sentiments as well as the ones for a wedding!  Hope you like!

Yep. Lips are a trip. And who wouldn’t kiss that freckly schnoozle??? The one at my house gets a lot of kisses too.
Oh…yeah…the card. Another lovely rendition. Choosing for your friend is going to be hard.

Lovely card!! Pretty, soft, and elegant:-) My daughter’s 80 lb. lab/shepherd “helps” me make cards by flipping my hand up with his schnoozle – usually because he wants me to put peanut butter in his kong. And I of course leap to my feet to do it lol!! (Reinforcing the behavior – oops!)

  4. Just beautiful, Mary! 🙂

Hi! Im a demonstrator from Australia, but i do it for myself and fundraising for YAPS (young animal protection society), love your cards but also tune in to hear how the ozzy in your life – Finn man, is doing. i have a standard chocolate poodle Lily, 10 1/2 now and she like Finn helps me with everything, including knowing when i need to stop work, with either that movement shown today or prescious wet (eek) nose pushes up under my writing hand. I work from home. Enjoy your day 💞

    • Hello, Helen! Thanks for taking time to stop by from Down Under (I bet you NEVER have anyone say that to you!). I think Standard Poodles are wonderful and your Lily sounds lovely. They sure do know how to get what they want, don’t they?!? Thanks for what you do with YAPS. 🙂

  6. So pretty Mary – from the die cut to the ribbon to the glitter paper. Love!

  11. Oh my gosh…what an incredible adorable helper you have! I’d be so distracted kissing that freckly schnoozle (too funny!) and spoiling and pampering that I’d never get cards made! Your card is lovely; one that the newlyweds will definitely cherish! So thrilled you shared this gem in the Cupcake Inspirations gallery!
