Good morning and happy Monday! Hope y’all had a great weekend and came thru any weather unscathed! The middle of the country is really taking a beating these past few weeks! :). We’ve been fortunate so far – and I have my fingers crossed that we have a pretty uneventful tornado season!
Today’s card goes back to some old faves – starting with Nature Walk DSP (now an Online Exclusive) and the Gears & Textures bundle (which found its way into the new May-Aug 2026 Catalog!) to make a cool masculine card. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I did a quick video on how to make this card – which is posted on Instagram. If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!
I started with a 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Pretty Peacock Nature Walk DSP that I matted on Lost Lagoon using Liquid Glue. I adhered a 1 1/4″ x 4 7/8″ piece of scripty Nature Walk DSP with Liquid Glue.
Then I double-matted the card front on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pecan Pie using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using the dies in the Gears & Textures set (backordered right now but expected back around the week of 25 May!) I cut out a bunch of gears.
– Large gear in Early Espresso cardstock
– Two small wheels in Early Espresso cardstock
– A large ring in Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper
– Three small gear “hubs” in Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper
– Small solid gear shape in Pecan Pie cardstock
– The chain “shadow” in Early Espresso cardstock
– The detailed chain in Gold Foil
Using Liquid Glue, I assembled the gears – you can see from the photo (and the short video!) how each element goes together!
With all the elements assembled, I adhered the completed chain to the card front with Liquid Glue, then adhered the large gear with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tucked the two smaller wheel gears under the large one – adhering them with Liquid Glue.
On a 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Scalloped Blooms sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink. Man – this stamp set is turning out to REALLY be a go-to for sentiments!! And its bundled dies are pretty awesome, too! 😎
I snipped a banner end in to the sentiment strip and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue and Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some Basic Beige Natural Matte Dots and the card front was done!
On the inside, I made a collage of textures using the stamps in the Gear & Textures stamp set. I stamped the lined image twice – once in full-strength Pretty Peacock ink and a second time without re-inking. Then I stamped a wheel gear in Early Espresso, a smaller wheel in Pecan Pie ink. Then I added the little cross-marks in Pecan Pie and the Phillips screw-head images in Pretty Peacock. Then I added another Basic Beige Natural Matte Dot.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Pretty Peacock card base, adhered the card front with more Liquid Glue and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Gears & Textures texture collage on the front…
…and more Nature Walk DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Nature Walk DSP is a fave for a reason, y’all! It can be used on so many different kinds of cards – it’s just a perfect starting point! And Gears & Textures – I am so glad it carried over into the new catalog. It’s a great bundle for making the cards for the guys on our lists. But – it does not have any sentiments – so… once again, Scalloped Blooms steps into the void – with a perfect sentiment to make this an any-occasion card! 🙂
I hope you like!
